Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer a super clean 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. When talking about Japanese sports car, it's impossible not to mention the RX-7. Mazda first offered this car in 1978 with a revolutionary engine. The Wankel rotary was an engine that defied the norm with its design. The engine has no pistons, but rather a triangular rotor which rotates around the combustion chamber. The result is a much smaller displacement than the typical piston engine. This RX-7 sports a 1,146cc 12A rotary engine. This engine produced just over 100 horsepower, but was lightweight which allowed the car to have an incredibly balanced 50/50 weight distribution. The entire car was under 2,500 pounds, so there's no doubt why they handle amazingly. This particular example is a well maintained ‘survivor’ that has spent its entire life in the Western United States, meaning you won’t have to worry about a rusty frame. With only two owners and a clean Carfax history, this is one for a collector. The color scheme is an attractive cream exterior with a gray cloth interior. In case you forgot you were in a sports car, the dash features a large center mounted tachometer and the console houses the manual transmission shifter. Backing the 5-speed manual transmission is a limited slip differential. This is a true sports car which will continue to appreciate in value and one of the best cars to come out of the 80’s! You can see this 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL for sale right now in person at our Scottsdale showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is excited to offer this very unique 1940 Ford Super Deluxe Flower Car once again. If you're scratching your head thinking "I've never seen one of those before!" It's probably because you most likely have not. This 1940 Ford Deluxe was produced by the Ford Motor Company and then converted by The Eureka Manufacturing Company of Rock Falls Illinois into a flower car. Essentially starting out as a 5-window coupe, the conversion lengthened the chassis and the convertible rear casket compartment was created with metal rollers and pins to store the side rails that would hold flowers in place. This car had a dual use of being enclosed with the original canvas cover for the less elaborate funerals and having the rear compartment cover removed and side rails installed for a more elaborate send off. Flower cars were popular during the middle of the century and now are rarely seen in modern funerals. While most if not all of these conversions done by Eureka were on General Motors vehicles this one being a Ford and not a Packard or Cadillac makes this highly obscure and is believed to be the only one ever made. This car was purchased new in 1940 and check out the original photos of the car being delivered. Now fast forward 78 years and you will notice that not much has really changed. This is an original, unmolested, unrestored car that still retains the original paint, original canvas cover, original interior and powertrain. Now is your chance to own something that nobody else has and enter the world of Professional Car Collectors. Surely this will be the only one at whatever show you attend and thanks to years of maintenance and recent service work performed this car is ready for the road and will cruise at highway speeds. New parts include brake shoes, wheel and master cylinders, brake hoses, rear axle seals, new points set, fuel tank, fuel pump and carburetor overhaul. Located in our Chicago showroom, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Flower Car can be seen including an HD video and pictures at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
