For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1974 Pontiac Trans Am, but not just any Trans Am this one is a Super duty! That’s right this 1974 super duty for sale is everything you have always wanted, White on white with the big blue bird on the hood yelling to the world to move over and get out of your way! Oh, maybe it is everything I always wanted. This 1974 Trans Am for sale is too classy for words and just off a full restoration. Beating under the hood and giving life to the bird is an engine that was bolted to this car from the factory 455 Super duty topped with a four barrel carburetor. Backing this horsepower making monster is a three speed automatic transmission for neck snapping launches and easy highway cruising This 1974 Super duty for sale is as clean as the day she was rolled on to the lot in Sarasota Florida where some lucky stiff was talked into getting behind the wheel by a gum snapping gold chain wearing car salesmen. Of course once behind the wheel with the engine running, thoughts of the Le Mans he had ventured in to the dealership to “look at” were long gone and there was no way he was leaving with out this car’s keys in his hand! Let’s face it, we both missed the chance to own a new super duty, do not let this chance pass you by. Technically it is not new, but it sure looks, smells, sounds and even drives like it is. Options for this 1974 T/A Super Duty for sale include: Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, Power brakes, Power steering, Power lock, Power windows, Tilt wheel, seat belts, Vinyl interior and raised white letter tire wrapped around rally rims. 1976 Pontiac Trans Am

Engine: 455 CID H.O V8
Transmission: T-10 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 57461 ( actual )

For sale in the Nashville show room is a red hot 1976 Pontiac Trans Am, powering this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am for sale is a 455CID V8 that is tossing power to the ground like beads at a New Orleans festival. Backing this 455Cid V8 is a four speed Manual transmission. This car is the sheer embodiment of 70’s muscle cars with a rumble that and growl that’s fit for a dragstrip and rocket ship, power at the tip of your toes and a force at your fingertip. The exterior color is the famous Buccaneer red that has the classic Trans Am logo across the hood. If you’re over 40 you’ll have a profound appreciation for its look of brute strength and power. If you’re looking to help the world, save emissions and are looking to save the ozone layer this powerful beast of a machine just might be for you! Because you can out run any Prius chasing you. Returning for what was to be its final season (again?) was the optional 455 V8, still labeled in H.O. guise. Once again, the 455 was packaged, including the confidence inducing semi-metallic front brake pads. As a 4-speed manual was still the required transmission with the big motor, California cars were not allowed this combination (nor any other 4-speeds, for that matter). The single exhaust system was unchanged from 1975 and exited through dual tail pipes with chrome splitters. The rear bumper was also covered in a soft urethane with a depression in the center, eliminating the false bumper bar. This theme made the Trans Am a much more complete looking car. The tail lamps were still of body color and stretched from the corner of the rear end to the license plate recess. With all the muscle cars available to you the Trans Am is as American as apple pie and “Sweet Home Alabama.” Features on this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am for sale include: air conditioning, am/fm radio, power steering, Power brakes, horse power, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires that are wrapping rally wheels to boot and much more. 1979 Pontiac Trans Am

1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Engine: 6.6 Liter V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 42269 ( undocumented )

“Hero Car” is a term in the classic car enthusiasts world that denotes a vehicle of extreme desire and reverence; a bonafide statement of steel, heritage, and classic styling. Our newest arrival at the Gateway Classic Cars showroom in St. Louis, MO, has certainly earned the rights to this esteemed moniker. The 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6, iconically donned in Starlight Black with gold embleming, was, and still is, the definition of “ Bitchin’ ”. The 2nd generation of GM/Pontiac’s F-Body vehicles hosted an array of impressive body lines, eye-opening powertrain, and new options for over a decade (1970-1981), and this specific arrival is a shining example of why the 2nd generation held such a lengthy tenure. This high-option Trans Am has been lovingly cared for and maintained, boasting a 6.6 litre 403 CID 4 BBL V8 and 3-Speed automatic transmission. A quick decoding of the VIN will lead its next satisfied caretaker on a journey through its production, which took place in the Van Nuys, California plant. From thereon, she was shipped for initial sale to Miller Pontiac-GMC in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Once parked and displayed, it wouldn’t be long before this bird found a new cage to break through. This Trans Am stands aggressively confident in its originality with a mere 42,269 miles. Mild restoration is suspected to have taken place throughout the years, but only with undying respect for maintaining the Pontiac patrimony. The engine bay, trunk, and undercarriage are all rock-solid, flat black, and free of unsightly rust - an absolute rarity for a Midwestern car. The traditional Firebird graphics and decals, unlike many other ever-peeling examples on the market, were done professionally and with respect to original placement and quality. Opening the door to this sought-after carriage will display a world of options to the trained Trans Am expert. Brushed aluminum rally gauge panel, custom Hobnail bucket seats, and tilt steering wheel make up just a few of the vehicle’s adornments. Further inspection will reveal modernization in the form of a USB/CD-compatible Kenwood head unit, allowing the driver to revel in glory to the sounds of his/her favorite tracks alongside the throaty v8 exhaust note. An NOS spare tire awaits use in the trunk, while the cherished 15x8” Gold Honeycomb rally wheels motivate the vehicle. Additionally, power steering and power brakes are utilized for this build. All glass is in excellent condition. The previous owners have taken it upon themselves to acquire proper and frame-worthy PHS Documentation, as a respectful nod to the excitement that one, possibly you, would and will feel when selecting this commanding example of Pontiac’s brainchild. Idle hands on this offering will pose a dire threat to making her your next addition to the family. 1979 Pontiac Trans Am

1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Engine: Pontiac 400 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 5673 ( actual )

Looking to expand its clientele, Pontiac decided to up the ante a bit by offering an F-Body with an optional Trans Am Performance and Appearance Package.By 1969 the Pontiac Firebird was a mere two years old and had debuted to moderate success. Ten years later the Trans Am had a large fan base. To commemorate that ten-year anniversary, Pontiac decided to offer its first Special Anniversary Trans Am. And when it was all said and done, they had assembled 7,500 of what fans call 'the silver car'. Of those 7,500 Tenth Anniversary Editions, only 1,817 had the L78 6.6L 400ci V8 and the Borg Warner T-10 4-speed. Today this silver Screamin' Chicken sits a true survivor with only 5,674 actual miles registering on its odometer. You would never guess that this Firebird is nearly 40 years old. The body looks absolutely stunning and is covered in the original two-tone paint. At the front of the body is a special massive screaming chicken decal that rests on the hood. Above the decal is the shaker hood that has the lettering T/A 6.6 on either side. On the roof you will find correct, mirrored T-tops. At the back of the car is a slick rear spoiler and more Trans Am badging. Pop the hood on this Firebird and you'll be greeted by an original L78 6.6L 400ci V8. Due to emission standards, 1979 was the final year that Pontiac offered all of its larger displacement engines. Bolted to the 400 cubic inch Pontiac V8 is the original 4-speed Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission, which sends power to a 3.23 Posi-traction rear end. Spent gases travel down the original headers to and out the original dual exhaust. Power 4-wheel disc brakes are responsible for slowing the Firebird, while the entire car rides on special 15x8 cast aluminum wheels that have been wrapped in Goodyear Polysteel Radials. Open the door to this Trans Am and you'll find a very well preserved silver leather interior that features firm bucket seats. This is where you'll also see the odometer that reads 5,675 miles. Engine: 455 CID
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 15850 ( undocumented )

With only 10,000 miles on a rebuilt and blueprinted 455 cubic inch V8, a four-speed manual transmission, and 3.73:1 gears, this Trans Am means business! You may have seen it featured on Pinks All Out a few years back and has since been treated to this stunning twisted copper colored 3M wrap that helps this car to stand out from the crowd. The 1979 Pontiac Trans Am has become an American icon with its timeless design and quality. This Trans Am specifically has taken the traits of the original and amplified them to make it even better! The 455 big block packs a serious punch and is capable of keeping up with the best of them. If a little extra power is needed though, a 75 shot of nitrous awaits in the trunk and, with the simple press of a button, the close race turns into a Trans Am victory! The sub-frame connectors stiffen the body for much better cornering ability and the traction bars eliminate axle wrap and plant the power where it needs to be. The 3.73 gear ratio is an excellent cruising gear and makes the choice simpler when determining which car to take out for your weekend drive. The long tube headers, X-pipe and mufflers allow for easy breathing and a superior sound over stock. 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am LSX

1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am LSX

Engine: 6.0L LQ4 V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 82688 ( actual )

If there is one thing most Trans Am admirers can agree upon, it is the disappointing output of the third generation’s 305 and 350 TBI/TPI motors. However, our newest arrival here at the Dallas Gateway Classic Car showroom has rectified this common complaint. This beautiful example of a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA will not only have you floored in the visual department, but will exceed your performance expectations as well. A complete powertrain swap to a LQ4 6.0 V8 and 4L80E transmission from the boat-anchored 350 TPI she came with was performed by Larry’s Speed & Custom of Fort Worth approximately 3000 miles ago. No expense was spared in completing this build, and all necessary swap components were employed. Custom wiring harness, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, Walboro 255 LPH fuel pump, Holley EFI fuel rails paired with an LS1 intake, billet coil brackets, LSSimple alternator kit, BMR adjustable torque arm, and BRP headers with muffler delete. Hawks motor mounts and a Blackheart transmission crossmember keep the new powertrain properly supported while you dust Vette-after-Vette. New calipers hugging drilled and slotted rotors insure a positive and pulse-free stop. Additionally, the interior was upgraded to a custom, yet tastefully-upgraded upholstery. The body of this GTA has only 82,688 miles, so this bird’s skeleton was a great candidate for this impressive and popular swap. For more HD pictures and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
