Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a beautiful little 1979 MG B. MG produced Bs from 1962 all the way until 1980. There were subtle changes throughout the years, but the basic layout remained the same: a 4-cylinder engine up front, manual transmission in the middle, and power delivered to the rear wheels. These lightweight cars are popular with driving enthusiasts and even make great racecars. This particular example is finished in a snappy shade of bright orange which looks just as right on the car today as it did in ’79. The interior is very clean and features nice black vinyl upholstery and a simple dashboard with driver focused controls. Equipment is sparse, but you do get a stereo and full instrumentation. The convertible top and windows are operated the old-fashioned way which is all part of the fun of a car like this. Pop the hood and you’ll find a simple and reliable 4-cylinder engine. The engine compartment of this car is quite presentable and retains a fairly factory appearance. The shifter falls to hand perfectly and the car rows through the gears wonderfully. Whether you plan on blasting the backroads, hopping on the track for a vintage racing experience, or simple cruising around town, the MG B is a wonderful car to handle the task. What a wonderful way to enter the classic car hobby! You can see this lovely 1979 MG B in greater detail in our Chicago showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Engine: 1.5LTransmission: 4 Speed ManualMileage: 50,539 ( actual )
Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1979 MG Midget for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. This 1979 MG Midget is a three owner car with 50,539 actual miles on the odometer and is presented in the original British Racing Green paint with a tan vinyl interior. It has a new vinyl top with tonneau, new triumph Spitfire fuel pump, new battery, new brake calipers, brake lines, gas tank, windshield, and shifter knob. The carburetor has been rebuilt. Radial tires wrap original 13” MG wheels. The receipts for the parts are included, as are several maintenance records. The MG Midget 1500 was produced from 1974 to 1980. Anti-roll bars were added to assist with handling. The previous A-Series engine was replaced by the 1493 cc unit from the Triumph Spitfire, coupled to a modified Morris Marina gearbox with synchromesh on all four gears. The increased displacement of the new engine produced more torque, with horsepower being similar to the previous version at around 65 HP. The increased output combined with taller gear ratios resulted in faster acceleration (12 seconds 0–60 compared to 13 for the 1275 cc version) and a top speed of just over 100 mph. This 1979 MG Midget promises classic British sportscar driving fun whenever the open road calls, and will be perfect for the coming Autumn and Spring months. Engine: 1.8L Inline 4Transmission: 4 Speed ManualMileage: 16,410 ( actual )
Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer this very original 1980 MG B with only 16,410 miles. The current owner was told by the previous owner that he got it up and running after it had sat for nearly 25 years on blocks in a barn. This is a very fun car to drive. Made in England, it has plenty of British character. By 1980, MG had worked out the bugs with these Bs and they really are quite reliable. This particular example in orange and oris black has been beautifully kept and drives very well. The paint has a deep shine and the interior shows very little wear. It’s clean and presentable, so it’s ready to show. This MG would be a joy to drive on a sunny day tooling around town. The recipe is simple: a 4-cylinder 1800cc engine, 4-speed manual transmission, and rear wheel drive in a small agile convertible. Simple and fun. You can see this 1980 MG B in greater detail in our Dallas showroom or at: www.gatewayclassiccars.com. Our Atlanta Showroom is proud to offer this 1979 MG MGB. This owner stated original mileage MG has been stored 15-20 years in St. Louis by the previous owner. It was just recently tuned-up and all the fluids and adjustments were made by a local expert in British cars. This is a very clean example of one of the most successful British marks in history. The MGB was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. The five-bearing 1,798cc engine produces 95 horsepower with peak power coming at 5,400 rpm. The majority of MGBs were exported to the U.S. and the distinctive rubber bumpers were fitted to meet domestic standards. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable barrier. Options include: radial tires, seat belts, convertible top, AM/FM radio, cassette, vinyl interior and AC. Engine: 4 CylinderTransmission: 4 Speed Manual w/ OverdriveMileage: 1,600 ( since rebuilt )
With only 1,600 miles on a freshly rebuilt drivetrain and a stack of receipts detailing the rebuild and restoration, this 1964 MG B is one of the nicest examples left! The stock 1.8L inline 4-cylinder and 4-speed manual transmission have been professionally rebuilt and fires right up. The stock 91 horsepower in this car was enough to get this little British roadster up to a top speed of 103mph and handles exceptionally well! Something else very unique to this car is that 3rd gear as well as 4th gear have an overdrive option that will help keep your rpm's lower no matter what speed. The recently reupholstered black interior looks great and will keep you comfortable on the longer drives. The black interior compliments the stunning red exterior well and will turn heads where ever it goes. As you slide in, fire it up and start to cruise you will be amazed at how capable this car feels. The low stance and light weight allow it to dart around easily but is not so rigid that it is a rough ride. If you are looking for a fun roadster that you can take out on a long weekend cruise or just down to the local car show, this MG B is an excellent option for you! A great deal of time and money has been put into this MG to get it ready for the next owner. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1964 MG B in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com.
