Thank you for your interest in this sharp 1955 Ford Thunderbird presented by Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa. One of the most beautiful pieces of Americana, they were considered to be direct competition to the Chevrolet Corvette. Helping spawn a new generation of automobiles in the United States, and aimed to take on the European market, the Ford Thunderbird was powered by a 292 CID V8, which gave the already smaller, lighter car the power it needed to make for both an excellent road racer as well as the perfect car for older couples to sit back and enjoy a movie at the drive-in. Mated to the engine is a 2-speed automatic transmission, which allowed the car for fairly smooth shifting, but in the higher gear allowed the vehicle to cruise at highway speeds without drinking too much gas. The interior of this car is a beautiful red and white two tone seating, with red carpets throughout. The hard-top is painted in white to give the car a two-tone look. Take the top off to enjoy the beautiful weather in absolute style! The exterior is painted to match the interior, with a stunning bright red paint job with a new black top that really gives the car a high quality 1950's kind of feel. Driving a 1955 Ford Thunderbird is truly an experience one simply cannot explain, these cars are the truest form of Americana one can find. Options include AM Radio, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Wide White Walls, Wire Wheels, Power Steering, Power Brakes and Power seat. We are very proud to offer for sale at our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom this stunning 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This is a great example of a very well restored 1st year Thunderbird. The smooth running 292 fires right up and idles smoothly. Equipment includes Power steering, Power brakes and Power windows. It is painted in an eye catching red over two tone red and white interior with a matching red hard top. Adding to the pop and shimmer is a set of radial wide white wall tires wrapped around a set of wire wheel hub caps for a very classy look. Power from the 292 is sent through a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The odometer is showing 88,393 with roughly 3,000 since the rebuild. The Thunderbird was Ford’s answer to the Corvette and they ended up selling 23 of them to every Corvette in 1955. This almost put an end to the Corvette until the Thunderbird went another route in 1958 and leaned more towards the luxury market by adding a couple of more seats. The first-generation Thunderbird will always be a recognizable car and who can forget Suzanne Sommers driving a white T-Bird in American Graffiti? Engine: 292 V8Transmission: 3-speed Over-DriveMileage: 68,313 ( undocumented )
We are happy to offer for sale at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in our Saint Louis this 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This first year Thunderbird is painted in a rare Goldenrod Yellow with a white soft top, white hardtop with black and white two-toned interior. Power comes from a 292-cubic inch V8, the only available engine for 1955. This one is equipped with a manual 3 speed transmission and optional over drive. The over drive is a neat unit. Once in 3rd gear and youre ready, pull the T handle beneath the dash and you're in! Other equipment includes power seats, wide white wall radial tires and a white hardtop. To add some personal touches, the previous owner decided to paint the hard-top white as opposed to keeping it body color as the factory would have painted it. The soft top is also white which would have been black fabric from the factory. These personal touches give the car a unique look and help it stand out from other '55 Thunderbirds. This is easily reversible if someone chooses. Recent maintenance includes new tires, new clutch and a rebuilt carburetor. In 1955 Ford introduced the Thunderbird to knock a dent into Corvette sales. Ford accomplished this with flying colors. 1955 Corvette production reached 700 units compared to Ford's whopping 16,155! Chevrolet needed some serious help if they were going to save the Corvette. Eventually Ford decided to lean more towards the luxury side and away from the performance side that the Corvette was pursuing. The Thunderbird has had a long and interesting run over the years. However, there's no mistaking the first run of the 1955 through 1957 T-Birds. They are the most collectible of any Thunderbird and will always be the most collectible. These hard and soft top equipped Thunderbirds are very cool, giving you the coupe and convertible feel all in one car. Call our St. Louis showroom for more information on this early T-bird at 618-271-3000 or email STL@gatewayclassiccars.com. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com

This 1955 Ford Crown Victoria is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 55 Crown Victoria was a direct shot at Chevy’s new line-up of vehicles. With just under 2,700 miles on a fresh rebuild this tastefully modified 1965 Mustang is ready to hit the road and cruise! Setting this Mustang apart from rest of the crowd is a custom Shelby style front end and hood, American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, and lowered stance that really set off the performance feel. Giving it the lowered stance and helping it to out corner its stock counterpart is a set of TCP adjustable coil overs upfront and newer lower leaf springs in the rear. Also helping it to corner is the Flaming River power rack and pinion cradle that was a huge improvement from the factory equipment. The remanufactured 302 cubic inch V8 sitting under the hood has been tuned up to give it that extra power it needed. Modifications include the Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4-barrell carburetor, a mild cam giving it a healthy choppy idle, and a set of Hedman long-tube headers flowing through a full Flowmaster exhaust system. Backing up that small block Ford engine is a built up C4 automatic transmission that shifts crisply between gears. Helping to add to the reliability of this Mustang, it was completely rewired using an American Autowire Mustang harness and an aluminum radiator was installed along with an electric fan to keep it cool. This Mustang has been well sorted out and has a great deal of classy touches throughout. If you are looking for a turn key classic Mustang that can be shown and still driven without worry this is an excellent choice! This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1965 Ford Mustang in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. The 302 CID Chevrolet engine that powers this T-Bucket has a Weiand 144 blower, forged internals, ported and polished heads, Lunati valve train, and runs on 13 to 1 compression. This all amounts to a whopping 510 horsepower! The TH350 automatic transmission has a stage 2 shift kit and a 3200-3500 stall converter to help transfer the power to the built Chrysler 8 ¾ rear end with Auburn Posi-Traction and 3.73 gears. Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. Upon the birth of the Mustang in 1964, the American working class was finally offered an affordable entry into the world of hobbyist vehicles. Upon decoding the VIN and doorplate, we learn that this Mustang was birthed in the Dearborn, MI plant, before being DSO’d to Lansing, MI. The car has undergone a loving restoration in the past, but has managed to retain its originality in terms of powerplant, Rangoon Red exterior, and interior color. This Pony is a “C-Code car”, meaning that she was optioned with a 289 CID 2V V8 with a matching C4 automatic from the factory, as well as a power top, power steering, and power brakes, making this Mustang extremely approachable in terms of ownership. All too often, these pony cars were sent out the door with a 170 or 200 CID inline 6 cylinder. This C-Code Stang, however, supplies the driver with steadfast confidence in the car’s ability to move comfortably up steep inclines with minimal throttle.
