1978 Datsun 280Z

1978 Datsun 280Z

Engine: L28 I6
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Mileage: 81,818 ( actual )

Powering this Z is a L28 I6 Cylinder that will really get this 280Z for sale down the road, backed by the rare 5 speed manual transmission makes for the perfect pare. This one is unique for several reasons, and it's a beautiful example of the "Z" series from Datsun, they were entering the sports car arena beginning in 1970 with the 240Z. The 1978 280Z models were the most refined of all the Z-series cars to that point. This year, the manual five-speed transmission was first available in North America-bound cars. Very few 5-spds were ordered from the factory; most were 4-spds. This was also the first and only year for black being an available color on Z-cars. They were known as "Black Pearl Edition" models. Additional refinements can be found in convenience options like air conditioning. 1978 was the first year that it was an integrated system, not a "hang-on" type installation. Sharp-eyed Z-car enthusiasts will immediately notice the factory aluminum road wheels, considered to be the single rarest option for these cars. These wheels, like the rest of this stunning automobile, were restored to a condition that is as new as could be done. Because this example has all four options, it truly makes this one of the most desirable Datsun Z-cars on the market today. In addition to the afore-mentioned options, this sports car also which includes black sports mirrors, rear window louvers, and red/silver tape stripes on the hood and. Many 4-spd cars were retro-fitted with 5-spds once they arrived in the US. While staring at that sexy Black Pearl you can dream of the plush black leather bucket seats that are meant to give you comfort and the feel of a race car. The car was completely restored to as close to its original condition as possible after spending much time researching everything thoroughly. "BPE" black hue was so well-received that black was a regular production option on the new 280ZX models. Options on this 1978 Datsun 280Z include: AC, Cruise Control, AM/FM.CD player, Power Brakes, Leather Interior and Performance Radial tires that are Wrapping those beautiful Aluminum Alloy wheels. The interior features a very cool and unique yellow plaid upholstered high-back bucket seats and instrumentation cluster deeply tunneled into the dash. 1969 Datsun Roadster 2000

1969 Datsun Roadster 2000

Engine: 4-Cylinder OHV
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Mileage: 57,391 ( undocumented )

Here in the Dallas Showroom we have this super awesome 1969 Datsun 2000 SRL311. The Datsun Sports (called Datsun Fairlady in the Japanese and Australian markets), was a series of roadsters produced by Nissan in the 1960s. The series was a predecessor to the Z-car in the Fairlady line, and offered an competitor to the European MG, Triumph, Fiat and Alfa Romeo sports cars. The line began with the 1959 "S211" and continued through 1970 with the "SP311" and "SR311" line. The Fairlady saw competitors follow its introduction, with examples called the Honda S500, the Toyota Sports 800, and the Daihatsu Compagno. In Japan, it represented one of three core products offered by Nissan at Japanese Nissan Dealerships called Nissan Shop, alongside the Datsun Truck and the Datsun 1000. The Datsun SRL 2000 was the 2 seat roadster that made their name. Paul Newman started his racing career in one. It had a potent 1982cc overhead cam engine with dual SU type side draft carbs and a 5 speed transmission. In 1991, Nissan introduced a limited number two-door convertible styled in a retro appearance to the Datsun Sports called the Nissan Figaro. The introduction of the 1967 SR311 and SRL311 saw a major update. Produced from March 1967 – 1970, the SR311 used a 2.0 L (1,982 cc) U20 engine and offered a five-speed manual transmission, somewhat unexpected for a production car at the time. The first-year cars (known as "half year" cars) are sought as there were fewer than 1,000 produced which are unencumbered with the 1968 model year emissions and safety changes. The new SOHC engine produced 135 PS (99 kW; 133 hp). An optional Competition package included dual Mikuni/Solex carburetors; a special "B" model camshaft for 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp); higher limit gauges; and a license plate surround. In Australia there were no emission restrictions and all 2.0 litre cars were fitted with the Competition package as standard. This Particular car is equipped with the Hitachi SU Side draft carbs, rebuilt motor, rollbar, and a beautiful paint job! In the USA the Datsun 2000 was lauded as a bargain sports car. It was raced by John Morton, Bob Sharp and others. Its sticker price was lowest in its class, but it won its class in C Production (Mikuni-Solex carburetors) and D-Production (Hitachi-SU carburetors), in SCCA racing on a consistent basis even after production stopped. For the full story of Nissan's involvement in early SCCA racing, the teams, drivers and cars, visit the Datsun Roadster SCCA pages. A well-tuned stock Datsun 2000 was capable of cruising at 120 mph (193 km/h) and capable of making better than 30 mpg (7.8 L/100 km) and red-lined at exactly 7000 rpm and 140 mph in fourth gear with a 5-speed manual. It was replaced with the more sedate, stylish, and popular Z series. Give the Dallas Showroom a call at 817-310-9400 Let's talk about getting you in the timeless classic sports car!
