Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to offer this incredible pre-war 1941 Ford Deluxe Opera Coupe. This unique piece of Americana was an overhaul in Ford styling. The body was widened over the area where the running boards once were and lengthened by several inches. Along with several suspension modifications and upgrades these eliminated the rough and tumble ride of previous generations. These cars not only served as the runabout of the day but were highly prized by traveling salesmen for the extremely large trunk area to carry their wares and as legend goes, crawl into the truck for a quick nap while on the road. The Opera Deluxe was easily identified by the abundance of chrome trim and folding jump seats in the back. Another unique feature of the Ford Deluxe was the ability to manually crank start the car in the event of a dead battery. Looking straight on at the grille you will see a small opening just below top of the front bumper for the hand crank to be inserted, very clever. This feature remained on the Deluxe until the 1949 model year change, the first significant styling change post war. With the brief background lesson over let’s get to our beautiful 1941 Deluxe for sale. Standing proud in Henry Ford black, the sporty and sweeping lines of this Deluxe begs to be driven and shown off in all her elegance. Driving this 41 Ford for sale is just as unique as the car itself. The flathead V-8 provides ample pep in your step power and coupled with a three on the tree manual transmission it gives you a fabulous driving experience no longer found. Sporting a three-piece front grille, fender mounted turn signals and split front windshield with head lights integrated into the front fenders, the Ford Deluxe ushered in a new era of styling. With the wide whitewalls and fender skirts it’s easy to imagine yourself on the way to the Opera in nostalgic elegance. Sliding behind the wheel you see the instrument cluster and hand pull knobs all made from Bakelite, a precursor to today’s modern plastics and highly collectible. One of the coolest items in the interior is the Southwind heater. A Deluxe only option, the heater operated independently with the engine off, using gasoline and a small fuel pump to keep occupants warm while at the drive-in movie. The cars also featured push button start and a bolt lock steering wheel not releasing until the key was turned. Both of these items were very innovative for the day and have resurfaced in the modern autos of today. This blast from the past has received a mild interior restoration with just enough done to revive the comfort and elegance but preserve the nostalgia and innovation of the time. Don’t miss this opportunity to show and go in this iconic and rare piece of American history. Options include; Deluxe package, Southwind heater, new glass and rubber, new fuel pump, new brakes and wheel cylinders, new clutch, and new reproduction interior.

For sale in for Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom is AN ALL-STEEL Henry Ford-bodied 1940 Ford Coupe. This one is also the 2007 Hot Rod National Champion, a flaming-hot 1940 Ford Coupe. The 1937-1940 generation of Fords is one of the most popular automobiles for hot rodding. It was also made popular in early stock car racing. 1940 was the last year for the 1937 body style. The following year Ford would put a straight six in its coupes instead of a smaller V8. The exterior of this 1940 ford coupe is in immaculate condition starting with the custom flames paint job. The owner of this coupe sparred no expenses on the paint work. To make this coupe pop it was fitted with 20-inch chrome rims that are wrapped with Toyo Proxes. The interior looks as if no one has sat in it since the restoration was completed. The red ultra-leather doesn’t have a single blemish on it. The dash is completely digital and don’t worry this car has Vintage Air to keep you cold in the summer and warm in the winter. Powering this hot rod is a Windsor 351 that is port fuel injected and an automatic transmission that shifts smooth as butter. It also has a ford 9” read end to keep things running smooth. Additional features on this car are AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Lumbar Support, Power Brakes, Powers Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Power Windows, Radial tires, and XM Radio. Now for sale at Gateway Classic Cars here in Houston is this beautiful 1940 Ford 2-door sedan. Powered by the legendary 350 CID V8 small block Chevrolet v8 engine mated to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. This awesome driving machine has only covered 2,000 miles since the build was completed. The exterior of the vehicle is done in a gorgeous, vibrant red with custom pinstriping. The cabin is a lovely place to sit and features excellently finished cloth and leather seats, AM/FM radio, seat belts and most importantly for those hot summer days, air conditioning. This one is easy to maneuver around tight parking lots and heavy traffic, thanks to its modern power brakes and power steering. The combination of all of these features and the fact that it came from California, really brings up the desirability level to 10. A high flat-topped hood dominated the front look of the 1940 model, as the grille spread out to reach the fenders to differentiate the Deluxe line and the headlights were pushed wider still. The standard Ford inherited the grille of the 1939 model with blackout on each side of a heavy chrome center; heavier headlight surrounds serve as another major differentiator from the 1939. 1940 was the last year of the 1937 design. Sealed-beam headlights were one of the few major advances for 1940, while a hydraulic top was new on the convertible. The 1937-1940 generation of Fords is one of the most popular automobiles for hot rodding. Early stock car racing drivers also used Fords of this generation among other cars. This Ford also formed the basis for a style of dirt track racing car. Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present a unique 1942 Ford “Woody” Station Wagon 4 x 4 in our Atlanta Showroom. This 1942 Ford Station Wagon was brought back to life by it’s current owner, as the body was found in a field without a chassis. This is where the 4 x 4 comes into play, as he had the idea of using a 1970 Jeep Wagoneer drive line, utilizing a Buick 350 engine, and turbo 400 automatic transmission, which have both been rebuilt and have 10,000-miles since the rebuild. At first glance, it looks like a Woody – as attention to keeping it look like a “true” Woody has been accomplished. The interior of this vehicle is clean and simple, just as it would have been in 1942, with the addition of the 4-wheel drive shifter. Options for this 1942 Ford “Woody” Station Wagon include; power steering, power brakes, AM/FM Radio with CD player, vinyl interior, seat belts, and radial tires with Hub Caps. Now available in our Dallas- Ft Worth-Showroom is this custom 1940 Ford Coupe. This coupe has an all steel body and is ready to steal the show for whomever is the new owner! Now to some, it’s taboo to place a Chevy engine in a Ford-body, however, the builder of this custom-rod didn’t think that way. They were worried about one thing and one thing only… POWER! Which this vehicle has plenty of, in the way of a 454 Chevy motor (the valve covers say 502, but it’s a 454). Worried about it being too powerful, going too fast? I didn’t think so, but just in case you were, have no worries as this vehicle is equipped with front disc-brakes and a rear-drum braking system too. When this vehicle does finally slow down and come to a halt, you can then take notice of the fabulous 20’s in the back 19’s in the front Skop chrome wheels. Which are covered by 31x13 rear and 26x6 front Mickey Thompson tires, one of the most famous names amongst hot-rodder’s tongues. Finally, you’ll never be to hot, in this hot-rod, as it comes with an already installed vintage air system, keeping you nice and cool as you breeze down the road. Other options include: Power windows, Tilt wheel, Sony, Am/Fm-Radio with CD-player, Automatic transmission with a BTM pro-stick-shifter, and a remote to open both the doors and the trunk!
