Up for sale in the Orlando showroom is this 1996 Mazda Miata. The Mazda Miata was Japan’s spiritual revival of the classic British Sportscar segment made so popular by MG, Triumph and Austin-Healey among others. Typically powered by a small 4 cylinder paired with a short geared manual transmission, the Miata has a reputation for being playful and dynamic, though not exactly fast or powerful. This has left much to be desired for the more bombastic driver. To solve this dilemma a grass roots community assembled and created what has come to be known as the Monster Miata! In various forms of driveline and suspension setup, a Monster Miata is a Miata with V8 engine. This example is fitted with a Ford 302 and boy is it a Monster! With a 4 barrel, 650 Edelbrock carb this baby sucks in air like a champ and huffs and puffs it out with a thunderous snarl from its specialty fit headers and Flowmaster exhaust. This old school brute power is handled by a Tremec T-5 transmission and a Ford 7.8 rear end with 3.71 gears. The interior is set up just as serious as the rest of the car with tan vinyl racing buckets, roll bar and 4 point racing harness. The exterior is finished in white with a simple wide single painted blue stripe down the center. Subtle visual clues that this is no ordinary Miata are the raised hood and 225 width rear tires. This Monster Miata is a true driver with its turn key drivetrain and complete interior. It will be the pride of any enthusiast with a keen interest in being different. 1985 Mazda RX7 12A

1985 Mazda RX7 12A

Engine: 1146 CC 12A
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Mileage: 113,292 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer a super clean 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. When talking about Japanese sports car, it's impossible not to mention the RX-7. Mazda first offered this car in 1978 with a revolutionary engine. The Wankel rotary was an engine that defied the norm with its design. The engine has no pistons, but rather a triangular rotor which rotates around the combustion chamber. The result is a much smaller displacement than the typical piston engine. This RX-7 sports a 1,146cc 12A rotary engine. This engine produced just over 100 horsepower, but was lightweight which allowed the car to have an incredibly balanced 50/50 weight distribution. The entire car was under 2,500 pounds, so there's no doubt why they handle amazingly. This particular example is a well maintained ‘survivor’ that has spent its entire life in the Western United States, meaning you won’t have to worry about a rusty frame. With only two owners and a clean Carfax history, this is one for a collector. The color scheme is an attractive cream exterior with a gray cloth interior. In case you forgot you were in a sports car, the dash features a large center mounted tachometer and the console houses the manual transmission shifter. Backing the 5-speed manual transmission is a limited slip differential. This is a true sports car which will continue to appreciate in value and one of the best cars to come out of the 80’s! You can see this 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL for sale right now in person at our Scottsdale showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
