The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This “A” code fastback for sale features one of the finest small blocks ever made the 289 4V this amazing small block is well known to produce snappy revolutions that lead to tire smoking launches and red-faced Camaro drivers. This little pony has been owned by the same filly for the past 31 years and has been lovingly cared for and restored. Now I am not going to try to convince you that the lady who owns this 1965 Mustang Fastback for sale only drove it to Church at 10 miles below the speed limit, in fact, I believe she used every pony under the hood and I am sure she straightened out a couple of curves and scared many squirrels. OK, Back to the car, looking sharp covered in red with a black hood scoop and black interior this classic pony car is sporting many new and upgraded components such as ball joint and upper control arm bushings as well as, seats, door cards, headliner and under the hood the 289 only has about 5,000 miles on it since it’s rebuild and the C6 about 2,000 miles and when it was rebuilt a shift kit was added. Topping the Ford small block is a New Holley® Carb and electronic ignition distributor. What could be better? Well, how about strapping an Air conditioning compressor to the engine, because sweating was ok when we were 18 but now we want to cruise in comfort. Options for this 1965 Mustang for sale include: Air conditioning, AM/FM CD player, Seat belts, Anti-theft system, Vinyl interior, and Rally rims wrapped with radial tires, see what I did there? 1965 Ford Mustang

1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: 200 CI Straight 6
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 13,915 ( undocumented )

Thank you for your interest in this sleek 1965 Ford Mustang located in our Tampa location. This car is a true piece of Ford history that simply turns heads anywhere it cruises by. The Twilight Turquoise green paint scheme with black vinyl top have made this car really stand out against other Mustangs in its class and is the way this car came from the factory when it was new. This rare 200 CI 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission have been completely rebuilt just under 11,000 miles ago. The 200 CI 6 is rated at 120 horse power but sure feels like more. Contrary to popular belief, the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang by enthusiasts, but for all intents and purposes, the cars are 1965 models on paper. The 1965 Mustang listed is built after the time line and is an actual 1965 with the 200 inline 6. This particular Mustang has been restored and redone about 7 years ago and has a 170 sticker on the air breather but it is in fact the 200 due to there being 5 freeze plugs in the block. It has recently had new tires and brakes put on it. The overall condition of the paint, interior, and engine in my opinion would rate as show quality. This car has many options like Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, black vinyl interior, and even white wall tires which makes the cars driving ability comfortable. If you are looking for the first classic car investment or even adding to one and need that super clean Mustang, this is the car for you. This 1965 Mustang is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information, please call our knowledgeable staff at (813)645-6200 or email us at Tampa@GatewayClassicCars.com. Engine: 390 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 74,764 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to offer up this WONDERFUL 1965 Ford Thunderbird for sale. Between the futuristic styling and the powerful engine, this is a fun old car. Under the hood of this iconic body style is a 390 CID engine that pulls nicely and provides plenty of torque for what this car was meant to be. When new in 1965, this engine was good for roughly 300 horsepower. Sending power to the rear wheels is a three speed dual range automatic transmission that shifts smoothly through the gears to ensure an enjoyable cruising experience. Overall, the powertrain of the sweet ride is in good condition and provides plenty of power for a spirited cruise around town. Moving outward, the body of the car is finished in a light blue metalic paint that really accents the lines of the car well. The car also features a black vinyl top that is in good condition. The vinyl top provides good contrast against the light body color. Supporting each corner of this classy ride are steel wheels with chrome caps. The wheels are wrapped in radial white wall tires with good tread life left in them. Upon entering this futuristic car, the driver will immediately feel like they are in a much newer automobile. The styling is very nice and compliments the exterior lines. The interior of this car features clean black seats that are very comfortable sitting atop clean black carpet. Tucked in the dash is a radio for those longer drives. When the summer months roll around, the driver will appreciate the AC that blows cold. 1965 Ford Thunderbird

1965 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 390 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 83,507 ( actual )

This beautiful two owner 1965 Ford Thunderbird is for sale currently in our Denver showroom. The original light blue paint has been meticulously cared for throughout the years and it definitely shows! Thanks partly to this car never having been driven in inclement weather. Both owners of this 4th Generation Thunderbird treated it much like it was a part of their family. It was stored indoors at all times and put away during winter months only driven for enjoyment in most cases. The original 390 cubic inch V8 starts with the greatest of ease and purrs like a kitten. With just over 12,000 miles on a complete rebuild and never having missed a scheduled maintenance this thing runs down the road better than when it was new. Helping transmit the power to the road is the 3 speed automatic transmission that has also been professionally rebuilt around the same time as the engine. Sitting behind the swing-a-way steering wheel takes you back in time to when aviation and vehicles shared each others styling ques. Everything from the heater controls to the gauge cluster make you feel as though you are preparing for takeoff! The bucket seats feel as though they have never been sat in and if you are lucky enough to be the driver you are treated to an adjustable seat that is power. Wraping around the original wheels is a set of radial tires that have just over 400 miles on thme. Rounding out the claissc looks of this piece of American history are the sequential taillights that look just as good when they are off as when they are lighting up. You can view this 1965 Ford Thunderbird in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1972 Ford Thunderbird

1972 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 460 V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 11,218 ( undocumented )

This beautiful 1972 Ford Thunderbird is now available for sale in our Milwaukee showroom. You’ll love the 460 cubic inch big block engine coupled to the 3-speed automatic transmission, the white exterior and black leather interior. This T-Bird comes with cruise control, power brakes, power steering, and radial tires. Aside from the redesign itself, the 1972 Thunderbird represented a simplification of body styles. Instead of the three body styles (landau, two-door and four-door hardtops) offered for the 1971 model year, Thunderbird was pared down to a single two-door hardtop model line. Externally, many components were common with the Continental Mark IV, the primary differences being the front and rear body panels. The prominent “beak” of 1971 was toned down while the sequential turn signals seen since 1965 were deleted for cost reasons. Aside from the dashboard, the interior was also shared with the Mark IV. Instead of the square gauges used by the Mark IV, Thunderbirds used round dials for the speedometer, fuel gauge, and clock. To the driver’s left were the climate control controls and the light controls; to the right were the radio controls, wiper controls, and information center. This dash layout would remain through the 1979 model year. This 1972 Ford Thunderbird is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information.
