The model was shoehorned between the highest trim GTX and the Satellite and was a huge success. The Road Runner sold double its expected numbers in the first year. This Road Runner is a real thrill getting it up to speed. The Bahama Yellow paint presents extremely well. The body lines and classic styling are sure to turn some heads. This rare A 12 left the St. Louis assembly plant in 1969 with a lift off hood with a 440 Cubic Inch V8 Big Block with 6 pack carbs underneath that sounds fantastic and will let your fellow motorists know you are on the road. Mated to that classic engine is a Code 93 3-speed automatic transmission running the power back to a posi-traction Dana rear end with 4:10 gears. This car will really get up and go. This car is ready for the street or the strip and will stand out in any crowd. This 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner with a HEMI is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Roadrunner was introduced in 1968 as MOPAR’s entry level midsize muscle car. For the small charge of 50000 Warner Brothers allowed Plymouth to use not only the Roadrunner image but the classic beep, beep for the horn. This real deal RM21 roadrunner is ready for the street or the show. A frame off restoration was done in 2005 giving this Roadrunner a new lease on life. The original 383 engine was put to the side with a 426/465HP HEMI making this B Body a pavement shredding monster. The MOPAR purple cam gives the HEMI those added ponies and an idle that is unmistakable. The 833 4 speed is original to the car with it being rebuilt to handle all that power. The 8.75 pose rear end has a set of 3.23 gears giving the car a good mix of off the line acceleration and highway cruising. Painted back its original color of light blue metallic except this time using a base coat clear coat giving it a much deeper finish. The N96 Air Grabber hood was an original option on the car and has to be one of the coolest things to be put out by MOPAR. The interior was restored back its original glory with the bucket seat console being a rare option on these cars. The white vinyl is clean and a great contrast against the black dash and carpet. The pistol grip shifter is another one of those classic MOPAR touches and exactly what you would expect in 1970. For sale in our Atlanta showroom is a second generation Plymouth Barracuda from 1968. The second-generation Barracuda, still shared many components with the Valiant but was stylishly redesigned with model-specific sheet metal, and a convertible and hardtop coupe joining the original fastback offering. The new Barracuda was chiefly the work of John E. Herlitz and John Samsen, with Coke-bottle side contours and heavily revised front and rear ends. Design cues included a concave rear deck panel, wider wheel openings, curved side glass, and S-curved roof pillars on the hardtop. Some points of interest with the 1968 Cudas were that the front and rear bumpers were identical, the rear portion of the roof on the fastback coupe was more streamlined, and the back glass, raked at a substantially horizontal angle, was much smaller compared with that of the previous model. Also, the use of chrome trim on the external sheet metal was more restrained. In 1968, while the 225 cu in (3.7 L) slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in (4.5 L) to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in (6.3 L) "B" big-block, rated at 280 bhp (210 kW), the latter available only with the Formula S package. This Barracuda S comes with a Hensler Performance numbers matching rebuilt 383 and a 4 speed transmission,[non numbers matching trans] with just 500-miles on the motor since reinstalled. The dark Green exterior paint is in very good condition, shines brilliantly in the sun and contrasts nicely against the painted steel wheels with dog-dish hub caps. The black vinyl interior appears new and in great condition with only minimal signs of normal wear on the seat belts. The dash also shows no signs of sun fading or cracks. One thing that should really excite you about this Mopar is the recently completed exterior paint job. The high-satin-gloss purple paint with gold stripes makes this Plymouth Roadrunner look strikingly royal. On the passenger-side rear there is a classic Plymouth Road Runner Standing Bird decal. There are just a couple minor imperfections that might withhold it from being truly award-winning show car quality, but for the uninitiated there is nothing pure joy to behold here. Similarly, the interior has been very well-kept, with just a couple things to prove that it is an original. The white vinyl interior is nice and tight and shows extremely little wear. The headliner is clean and doesn't show any stains, tears, or smoke damage. The dash looks original and does not show signs of normal aging or fading from exposure to the sun. Underneath the air-grabber hood is a 440 Six Pack V8 with only 63,502 miles which are believed to be actual to the car. Built from 1967 to 1971, the 440 Six Pack is a high-performance engine that has light wall construction, precision cast-iron block, and iron heads. One of the most iconic Mopar muscle cars of all time is the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner in Vitamin C Orange. This car was originally built at the Lynch Road assembly plant in Detroit with a scheduled production date of April 26, 1969. Making it a 1969 ½ and one of 422 that were built with the 440-6bbl as well as an A833 4-Speed manual transmission. Do not let the cartoon bird on the car’s body panels fool you, this car means business and is not to be taken lightly. If cars could tell tales we are more than certain that any car that dared line up next to this one was sure to see a set of tail lights through its windshield in no time! The factory steel long quarter panels are ripple-free and still showcase that neat slash of relief along the upper edge. Panel gaps are good, and the monstrous hood scoop sits in the middle of a satin black hood designed to emulate the mighty A-12 cars that terrorized drag strips in late 1969. The interior is quite stock and while it emulates a no-frills attitude, the bench seat has a very handsome look. There's a 4-speed shifter sticking out of the floor so there's no weight-adding console to slow you down and it's topped with a proper pistol-grip handle! The factory gauges include an in-dash tachometer and work just as great as they work and serve almost as a glimpse into a time machine. What truly sets this Road Runner apart from other cars of its time is the numbers matching 440 cubic inch V8 punching out 390 horsepower. Topping off that power plant is the much sought after six pack. Inhaling through that giant scoop, the bright Hemi Orange torque factory looks ready for show and still retains the factory look. The 4-speed manual transmission feeds a bulletproof Dana 60 rear end, which houses a set of 4:00 gears. This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda started out life as 1 of 602 that were with the HP383 mated to a 4-Speed manual transmission. Starting in 1983 the car had been stored inside keeping it rust free helping it keep the sheet metal all original! Fast forward to 2014 and the start of the rotisserie restoration that left no bolt untouched. Rallye Red paint adorns the smooth panels and has a great buttery gloss to it. There's no denying that this car was built to look fast, a benefit of Chrysler's delay in developing the E-body twins to combat the Camaro and Mustang, and it's probably why the 'Cuda remains a perennial favorite. When the car was ordered it was special ordered with the 3.91 Sure Grip rear end. Also included in the “Cuda” options was the Rallye red paint,elastomeric bumpers front and rear, Rallye mirrors, Rallye bubble hood, Rallye instrument cluster, as well as a Rim-Blow steering wheel. Rounding out the great appeal of this car as it rolls down the road is a set of 18” U.S. Mag alloy wheels wrapped in 255/45R18 radial tires. There is no doubt that this is one of the most desirable muscle cars that the big three has produced and one of the arguably best years it was produced! Opening the dual scooped hood gives you a small peek at some of the modern upgrades that help bring this classic to life. Keeping the stroked 432 cubic inch V8 cool is an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans while pushing 400 horsepower. Feeding the fuel to this Mopar is an MSD Atomic throttle body EFI. Tasked with igniting all of that fuel is a complete MSD ignition system including a 6AL box. Breathing all of the exhaust out of this setup is a set of TTI ceramic headers and full Pypes dual exhaust complete with rectangular exhaust tips. Transferring all of that go fast power to the 8-3/4” rear end is a brand new Tremec 600 Five speed manual transmission rated to handle up to 600 horsepower. While it is a modern transmission it sports the correct pistol grip shifter for the era which no true Mopar of the time should be without. When we said not bolt was left untouched during the restoration we truly ment NO BOLT! When you look under this heart pounding muscle car you’ll find an undercarriage that matches the quality of the exterior. Hotchkis subframe connectors help insure all of that power does not hurt any of the beautiful body work. Tasked with bringing this car to a stop is a set of 4-wheel Willwood disc brakes as well as Hotchkis fully tuned shocks help keep traction while starting or stopping. A complete UniSteer power rack & pinion setup makes steering this car a dream. The look and feel of this black interior is the way this car was ordered and is a great combination of new and original components. The original dash remains intact and restored but now houses a complete set of Dakota digital gauges helping make sure all of the vitals of this car are monitored as accurately as possible. They also reveal that 1,437 miles have been driven since the restoration was completed. One of my personal favorite parts of this Barracuda is the wood rimmed steering wheel that is complete with the “fish” insignia. In 1968, while the 225 cu in (3.7 L) slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in (4.5 L) to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in (6.3 L) "B" big-block, rated at 280 bhp (210 kW), the latter available only with the Formula S package. This Barracuda S comes with a Hensler Performance numbers matching rebuilt 383 and a 4 speed transmission,[non numbers matching trans] with just 500-miles on the motor since reinstalled. The dark Green exterior paint is in very good condition, shines brilliantly in the sun and contrasts nicely against the painted steel wheels with dog-dish hub caps. The black vinyl interior appears new and in great condition with only minimal signs of normal wear on the seat belts. The dash also shows no signs of sun fading or cracks.
