For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a showroom condition, 1970 Dodge Charger restored as a tribute to the record setting Dodge Charger Daytona. Dodge Daytona’s, also known as the "Winged Warriors", did not compete for long in NASCAR's top Cup series. On the next season of NASCAR, the executives banned aero specs on cars with engines bigger than 300 Cubic inches. Because of their exceptional speed and performance, NASCAR subsequently changed the rule book, effectively banning all four of the Aero Cars from Dodge, Ford, Mercury, and Plymouth from competition by the end of 1970. The Daytona's short-lived NASCAR career makes these vehicles a piece of history, both in Americana sense as well as engineering. This Charger, now fresh after a restoration, has just 1,149 miles. Under the hood you'll find a 440 6-pack big block backed by a 727 TorqueFlite 3-spd automatic transmission. This drivetrain puts power to ground through an 8 3/4 rear-end with 3.23 SureGrip gears. This good looking 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T is for sale in our Indianapolis showroom of Gateway Classic Cars. The data tag confirms this Challenger is a true R/T equipped with a 440 V8 390 HP 3-2BBL Carburetor (six-pack) set-up. The owner does not believe this to be the original 440 V8, but it is period correct to the car. The Yellow is not the original color to the car. Originally the color of this was Dark Burnt Orange Metallic with a white vinyl top. We think the yellow exterior and black vinyl top. The interior decodes as vinyl high back bucket seats, but it does not designate the color. The current owner is not completely sure about the rear end, but it originally came with a Super Performance Axle package with 4.10 gears. Rare by definition means, “not found in large numbers” or, “unusually good or remarkable.” Well… RARE is the perfect word to explain this A12 M-code “Killer” Super Bee. With a full restoration performed less than six months ago, this Super Bee is turnkey and ready to go. You may ask yourself what is so unique about this 1969 ½ Dodge Super Bee. I’m glad you asked. An A12 M-code MoPar car drastically sets itself apart from the typical “Muscle Cars.” A12 M-code cars were like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of “Muscle Cars.” They were pure, pumped up, menacing, high-performance vehicles that swarmed at every opportunity to sting the competition that dared to get in its way. A12 cars were offered with a 440 cubic-inch monster motor, adorned with a “Six-Pack” (three two-barrel carburetors). M-code cars were a special order package that equipped these outstanding cars with a Dana 60 axle with 4:10 gear ratio, heavy-duty automatic and a “lift-off” flat black scooped hood. The A12 package did not stop there. It also includes heavy-duty internal engine parts, black steel rims with high-performance G-70 15 inch tires, and heavy-duty 11-inch drum brakes. This is a “Numbers Matching” 1969 ½ Dodge Super Bee with all the correct matching components an A12 M-code car is suppose to have as stated above. With only 45,000 documented miles this jewel is a superb investment. You can make this a centerpiece in your collection. There were only 1,487 Super Bee two-door Hardtops built in 1969 for the U.S. market with a 440 six-barrel 390 horsepower engine. Of those, 826 were built with a A833 4-speed manual transmission and 661 constructed with an A727 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. This is one of the 661 A727 automatics. No one truly knows how many of these ultra-rare cars are still in existence, but we know not all of them made it this far. Some found their destiny with the “car crusher.” Others rotted away in fields, and some are still hiding behind barn doors. This Super Bee was found in Fort Morgan, Colorado like many other “Muscle Cars” sitting in a barn locked away from the public. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1972 Dodge Challenger. The 72 Challenger kept much of the original lines from the original 70 cars except for a few key differences. The cars were great looking but the performance like many of the early muscle cars had been sucked away due to emissions and insurance issues. This 72 Challenger has pumped life back into the performance side with a 440 shoved under the hood reminiscent of the good ole days. The mild cam has given this animal not only a great sound at idle but an increase in overall performance. The hood has been retrofitted with one the most memorable options MOPAR ever did, The Shaker Hood. Fire this big block up and hit the gas as the scoop shakes back and forth with every blip of the throttle. Matched up to a built 904 Trans this must be one of the best cars I have driven. The B5 Blue Metallic paint is extremely clean and shows very well with the metallic popping in the sunlight and grabbing everyone’s attention. Taken down to bare metal and rotisserie restored the underneath of the car is in exceptional condition. With no undercoating the builder wanted to be sure that you knew this car is right. Open the door and you are welcomed by an interior that has been redone. The custom seats have Challenger embroidered into them which is a nice custom touch. The middle console houses the original slap shift shifter just as you would expect from a 72 Challenger. Now for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger! This beast is powered by a 340 CID V8 6-pack that was rebuilt 4800 miles ago. The 3-speed 904 TorqueFlight transmission was rebuilt even more recently than the engine, covering only about 1000 miles since being done. The 8:34 rear end features 3:23 gears and has also been rebuilt about 1000 miles ago. The exterior is finished in a stunning blue code PB3 paint which brings out the amazing body lines of this classic Mopar machine. The car has received an entirely new A/C and heating system from vintage air. All new March Performance Serpentine drive kit, new MSD ignition system, new radio, new Dakota digital dash, new digital tail lights, new disc brakes in the front, new dash pad. The car has been very well cared for and it’s very obvious when you look around the car. It was one of two Chrysler E-body cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda. "Both the Challenger and Barracuda were available in a staggering number of trim and option levels" and were intended "to compete against cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, and to do it while offering virtually every engine in Chrysler's inventory. The performance model was the R/T (Road/Track), with a 383 cu in (6.28 L) "Magnum" V8, rated at 335 bhp; 300 bhp for 1971, due to a drop-in compression. The standard transmission was a 3-speed manual. Optional R/T engines were the 375 bhp 440 cu in (7.2 L) Magnum, the 390 bhp 440 CID Six-Pack and the 425 bhp 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi. The R/T was available in either the hardtop or convertible. The Challenger R/T came with a Rallye instrument cluster that included a 150-mph speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer, 1972–1974 tachometer went to 7,000 rpm and an oil pressure gauge. In 1972, the R/T badging was dropped and these models were called "Rallye", although they were never badged as such. The Rallye model featured a faux brake vent on the fenders. The shaker hood scoop was not available after 1971. The same year this car rolled off the assembly line the world's first jumbo-jet, the Boeing 747, has its first commercial flight on January 22nd of 1970. Did we forget to mention the Methanol Injection? Exhaust measures in at 4in and has been completely ceramic coated, in and out. There’s a Dana 60 rear end out back with 3.53 gearing, and at the crank, you’re looking at 2,200 horsepower! The Big Stuff 3 Electronics that are equipped in this Charger allow you to control boost, offer traction control and even a analog button to rid of any interruptions. The Dewitt Radiator and Brushless Fans make sure this Mopar run nice and cool. The amount of time, effort and energy that went into building this monster is evident and the list is longer than train tracks. This vehicle would see on average 2,000-3,000 miles per season so driving this one is not out of the question. If you are a serious buyer that is looking for a Charger that you can trailer, show, drive or even race, this one covers all the check marks for you. To replicate this build it would take an unlimited budget and knowledge that cannot be bought. We haven’t seen one of these cool cars in a long time and we are happy to have it here in South Florida. Dodge produced the Dart series from 1960 to 1976 and this Dart is in great shape. Recently this little muscle car received a complete restoration. The exterior presents itself in a beautiful green paint which is a perfect match to the Dart. Gateway Classic Cars now has a very special and beautiful 1968 Dodge Dart GTS Convertible available in Houston! This one is powered by a numbers matching 340 CID V8 engine that goes through a factory TorqueFlite transmission. This engine has only covered less than 500 miles since the car was restored in 2013. Exterior is finished in a red with black top combination. Features include an AM radio, automatic convertible top, hub caps, power brakes, power steering, jack, seat belts, vinyl interior and radial tires. This is part of the fourth generation of Dodge Dart vehicles produced between 1967 and 1976. The Dart was substantially redesigned for the 1967 model year. It received new styling, revised steering systems, wider front track and frame rail spacing. Redesigned K-members were added to accept the larger engines that Dodge had in mind for the car. In 1967 you would also notice the rear window with inverse curves, creating a new and unique appearance at the rear of a greenhouse, but designed to collect snow! The 170 CID I6 was dubbed simply “Dart”, with the 270 and GT carrying on mostly unchanged. In late 1967 the GTS came out in limited quantities due to it’s lateness, but the 1968 was arguably improved anyway, by fitting the new high-output 340 CID V8! That is the car that you are looking at here. The first of the 340 GTS cars. Aside from the engine, changes for 1968 were relatively subtle. The park and turn lights in the grille were moved slightly inboard and made round. Side marker lights were added to the front fenders and rear quarter panels, to comply with newly introduced Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. Shoulder harnesses (separate, this year and until 1973, from the lap belts) and non-glare matte finish on the windshield wiper arms were also part of the 1968 federally mandated safety package. For sale at our Gateway Classic Cars Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom is a 1959 Dodge D-100. From 1957 to 1959, Dodge proposed the Sweptside pickup, a rival to the Chevrolet Cameo Carrier, but it never became a best-seller. A flat-sided (and thus wider) "Sweptline" cargo box came in 1959. The company also adopted the standard pickup truck numbering scheme, also used by Ford and GM at that time. Thus, the ½ ton Dodge was now called the D100. A traditional separate-fender body "Utiline" version was also built which had a GVWR of 9,000 lb (4,100 kg). The D-100 was considered a workings man’s truck back in the day. It’s somewhat of a rarity to locate these in good shape because of this. However, this owner has been able to do just that. This 1959 is only a 2-OWNER vehicle! That’s right, just 2 owners throughout its lifetime! This vehicle was bought and owned by a gentleman in California way back in 1959 (Owner provided original bill of sale). He held on to it and used this vehicle all the way up until about 2 years ago, when it was then purchased by the present owner today. The original owner loved this truck so much, he gave it a front/back full restoration (approximately 2006) a few years before selling this vehicle. Restoring it back to the shape he had previously purchased/received it in 1959. This vehicle is powered by a 318 V-8 engine and 4- speed transmission.
