Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this striking 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The first-generation Thunderbirds were some of the most iconic automobiles ever created by Ford and came onto the scene in 1955 in direct response to the Chevrolet Corvette and many European sports cars of the time. The original concept looked a bit foreign and the actual production model proved to be more American and luxurious. This fine example is just jaw-dropping and features a stunning shade of White with matching black and white interior, white porthole hardtop and white soft top making this car really stand out in the crowd. Powering up this beauty is what is believed to be the original V8 Engine mated to the 2-Speed Ford-O-Matic transmission which was very similar to the Powerglide of the time. This car has some great options including a hood scoop, fender skirts, both tops, power windows and Air Conditioning as well as the super cool town and Country radio. Driving this car with the top down/off is like taking a trip down memory lane. Most old cars from the '50's and '60's can be cumbersome and difficult to drive but not this beauty. One turn of the key and the V8 comes to life and this car rides and handles like a more modern car and is sure to get plenty of attention on the road. Can you imagine it in your garage? This is the one you want to own.

1957 Ford Thunderbird

1957 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 35,539 ( actual )

Now for sale in the Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this beautiful 1957 Ford Thunderbird. This is one of the most desirable years for the Thunderbird and what a fantastic example this is. The current owner of this first-generation car bought it from the original owner in Houston all the way back in 1967 and has kept it ever since. This one has been excellently maintained over the years and still drives very well. Under the hood you will find a 312 CID V8 engine which was now standard in 1957 over the 292 CID V8 engine seen on the previous 1st generation Thunderbirds. The Thunderbird was revised for 1957 with a reshaped front bumper, a larger grille and tailfins, and larger tail lamps. The instrument panel was heavily re-styled with round gauges in a single pod, and the rear of the car was lengthened, allowing the spare tire to be positioned back in the trunk. The 312 cu in V8 became the Thunderbird's standard engine, and now produced 245 horsepower. Other, even more powerful versions of the 312 cu in V8 were available including one with two four-barrel Holley carburetors and another with a Paxton supercharger delivering 300 horsepower. Though Ford was pleased to see sales of the Thunderbird rise to a record-breaking 21,380 units for 1957, company executives felt the car could do even better, leading to a substantial redesign of the car for 1958. The exterior is finished in a gorgeous white/blue two-tone paint scheme with a matching blue two-tone interior. The cabin is kept cool with functioning air conditioning and features a manual convertible top for those summer days. Power steering and power brakes make steering and stopping this classic a breeze, even in tight parking spots. Seat belts are fitted for extra safety and the white wall tires look fantastic. Don’t miss this chance to own this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars of Houston at (832) 243-6220 for more information on the car, financing information or to talk about purchasing. You can also email us at houston@gatewayclassiccars.com. The car is in our showroom at 1910 Cypress Station Dr #200, Houston, TX 77090. 1955 Ford Thunderbird with 2 Tops

Engine: 292 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 82,125 ( undocumented )

Showroom is this 1955 iconic Ford Thunderbird! The Thunderbird was considered a more dignified, personal luxury cruiser during its release. It had roll-up windows and standard V-8 power, both things that were not available on the first Corvettes in the 50’s. Other features included a removable fiberglass top, a fabric convertible top, and fender skirts for the rear wheels. There was one engine for the first 1955 T-Birds, and it was the 292 cid Y-Block V-8 fitted with a single four-barrel carburetor. With the standard 3-speed manual transmission, this engine made 193 horsepower, and with the optional Ford-o-Matic transmission, it made 198 horses. The exhaust pipes for the Thunderbird were integrated into the rear fascia and above the rear bumper, giving it an unmistakable Jet-Age look. This Thunderbird has a production date of, October 23rd-1954 and is one of the first 500 Thunderbirds manufactured! It still has the original 292 cu in Y-block V8 with a 3-speed manual, plus overdrive transmission. According to the owner, who’s owned it for the last 21 + years, this car has only 81,000 original miles! Other original parts to this vehicle include- Original Hardtop, Fender-skirts, Power seat, and Original AM radio for aesthetic purposes- (which isn’t functioning due to a 12-volt conversion). 1955 Ford Thunderbird

1955 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 292 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Manual w/Overdrive
Mileage: 68,313 ( undocumented )

We are happy to offer for sale at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in our Saint Louis this 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This first year Thunderbird is painted in a rare Goldenrod Yellow with a white soft top, white hardtop with black and white two-toned interior. Power comes from a 292-cubic inch V8, the only available engine for 1955. This one is equipped with a manual 3 speed transmission and optional over drive. The over drive is a neat unit. Once in 3rd gear and youre ready, pull the T handle beneath the dash and you're in! Other equipment includes power seats, wide white wall radial tires and a white hardtop. To add some personal touches, the previous owner decided to paint the hard-top white as opposed to keeping it body color as the factory would have painted it. The soft top is also white which would have been black fabric from the factory. These personal touches give the car a unique look and help it stand out from other '55 Thunderbirds. This is easily reversible if someone chooses. Recent maintenance includes new tires, new clutch and a rebuilt carburetor. In 1955 Ford introduced the Thunderbird to knock a dent into Corvette sales. Ford accomplished this with flying colors. 1955 Corvette production reached 700 units compared to Ford's whopping 16,155! Chevrolet needed some serious help if they were going to save the Corvette. Eventually Ford decided to lean more towards the luxury side and away from the performance side that the Corvette was pursuing. The Thunderbird has had a long and interesting run over the years. However, there's no mistaking the first run of the 1955 through 1957 T-Birds. They are the most collectible of any Thunderbird and will always be the most collectible. These hard and soft top equipped Thunderbirds are very cool, giving you the coupe and convertible feel all in one car. Call our St. Louis showroom for more information on this early T-bird at 618-271-3000 or email STL@gatewayclassiccars.com. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com

Engine: 312 CID V8

Mileage: 36,092 ( undocumented )

We are excited to offer for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars Saint Louis Showroom this first generation Ford Thunderbird. The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette. Production of the Thunderbird began later on in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954 and sold exceptionally well in its first year; outselling theCorvette by more than 23-to-one for 1955 with 16,155 Thunderbirds sold against 700 Corvettes. With the Thunderbird considered a success, a few changes were made to the car for 1956. The most notable change was moving the spare tire to a continental-style rear bumper in order to make more storage room in the trunk and a new 12 volt electrical system. You'll be happy to hear that this low (actual) mileage classic Thunderbird has been held by the same family for nearly three decades and was stored for most of that time. The interior and body was repainted in 2016, but these are still the original panels, engine, and interior components. The smooth drive of one of Ford's most beautiful designs is a standard 312 cu in (5.1 L) V8 that was engineered to produce 245 horsepower (183 kW). With its classic look, colors, lines, white-wall tires, and low body, this Thunderbird is a great find and will a its next owner very proud to have and to hold onto. Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 71,826 ( undocumented )

Now up for sale in our Houston showroom is a classy blue metallic 1957 Ford Thunderbird. The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette, which was publicly unveiled in prototype form just a month before. Under rapid development, the Thunderbird went from idea to prototype in about a year, being unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show on February 20, 1954. Like the Corvette, the Thunderbird had a two-seat coupe/convertible layout. Production of the Thunderbird began later in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954. Though sharing some design characteristics with other Fords of the time, such as single, circular headlamps and tail lamps and modest tailfins, the Thunderbird was sleeker and more athletic in shape, and had features like a faux hood scoop and a 140-mph speedometer hinting a higher performance nature that other Fords didn't possess. This Thunderbird has undergone a partial restoration, and is in very good driver-quality condition. The list of mechanicals that have been modified are: The 312 CID Ford engine was swapped out in 1974 with a 350 CID Chevrolet V8 engine to provide a little more get up and go for this classy chassis. It is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission that was also added in 1974. The car has 2 known owners and was restored back in 1998 by the latest owner to preserve this piece if history. The exterior is in good condition and would get some heads turning driving down the road. This car has just the one hard top but is in nice condition and will keep you out of that wet weather. The interior of the car is in good original condition with a few small additions such as the engine turned aluminum dash to improve the appearance. The new cassette player hidden in the glove box with the Pioneer speaker behind the seat will make the drive much nicer while listening to your favorite songs. Some additional features include power steering, power windows, white walls, Cassette, AM/FM radio, and power seats. All in all, this adds up to a clean light blue bird that really is a joy to drive. It is hard to not look good driving a Thunderbird, especially when it is a T-Bird that looks this good. Call us today about this sweet little bit of nostalgia! Engine: 327 V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 11,231 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars is excited to present this one of kind, beautifully built, 1929 Ford pickup truck for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. Powered by a 327 Chevrolet V8 and driving through an automatic transmission, this custom vehicle is presented in a dark gray metallic and black two tone paint scheme that is set off both inside and out with tastefully executed hand-applied pinstriping. Offering a nice contrast to those colors is a natural tone wooden bed and matching wooden sides. Inside, you’ll find black tuck and roll seats with a padded dash and doors, the doors having custom stitching reflecting the pinstripe motif. The headliner is black suede. The dash itself is a work of art featuring a transmission temperature gauge by B&M and water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, voltmeter and speedometer all by VDO. The steering column tilts for easier access and is topped by a gorgeous Grant wooden steering wheel. An 8 ball shift knob completes the classic hot rod look inside, and the chrome 5 spoke Pacer wheels set off the exterior perfectly. With rectangular exhausts exiting out the sides beneath the running boards, the sound is deeply powerful and mannered.
