Engine: 396 CID V8Transmission: 4-Speed ManualMileage: 14817 ( undocumented )
For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a Phantom Blue 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The great thing about a 1968 Chevelle is you can tell exactly what it is straight from the Vehicle Identification Number. According to the VIN on this beautiful Chevelle, it is in fact an actual SS396 car. It is so simple, it makes one wonder why they ever changed it. Powering this 68’ Chevelle SS is a 396 CID V8 engine that is believed to be the original engine to the car, and features an aluminum intake, an aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep it cool, and headers to provide that awesome sound. A Muncie 4-Speed manual transmission throws the power to the 12-Bolt Posi-Trac rear end that houses 4.10 gears. The black interior has been redone and features cloth upholstery with black vinyl piping. The Phantom Blue paint was professionally applied and looks great. The brightwork also looks great and provides the perfect blend to the color combination and centerline aluminum/alloy wheels. The odometer reads 14,817, the actual mileage is unknown, and there are approximately 5,000 miles on the build, since its completion. Options for this 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS include: AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior, Power Steering, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This 396 Chevelle SS is ready for the streets. It will star at any local show or cruise but does its best work from stoplight to stoplight. Engine: 454 CID V8Transmission: 4-Speed ManualMileage: 20305 ( undocumented )
Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia welcomes this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS to our showroom located in West Deptford, NJ! The muscle car era at Chevrolet truly saw its peak in 1970 with the Chevelle SS. Gone were the days of linear styling now surpassed by a smoother, coke bottle design. Sharing sheet metal with the revered Buick GSX, they share the exact same roofline; seriously check it out sometime! This Chevelle, is not a 396 clone, it is a true SS 454 factory car that has had an engine swap. Pop open the hood and look at the LS 5 454 Big Block V8 that is as close to OE as possible. 1 of 4,298, it is a Z15 option car which cost $503.45 back in the day and magically shifted a Malibu into the mean machine that stands before you. Included in the package were heavy duty suspension, power brakes, dual exhaust and a black grill. The car is a total frame off restoration painstakingly returned to OE standards. The chassis and undercarriage are painted “east wood chassis black” and has been primed with a rust preventative. Take note of the Cowl Induction sport striped hood that gulped cold air straight to the carb, a $147.45 option. While you’re taking in the whole package, you surely noted the unique Misty Turquoise paint that graces this beauty. coupled to a new M-21 four-speed transmission and sends those horses to the 12 bolt POSI rear end! Ceramic coated Hedman Headers deliver exhaust to the 2 ½” stainless exhaust that flow along the complete Hotchkis ® undercarriage and suspension.. Engine: 396 CID V8Transmission: 3 Speed AutomaticMileage: 457 ( since rebuilt )
Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this incredible 1968 Chevelle Restomod. I’m not even sure where to begin. This car has undergone a complete restoration with some amazing custom features. Under the hood lies a 396 bored .030 over that is balanced and blueprinted. Internals are a Comp thumper cam with roller rockers and lifters, fired by an MSD ignition and topped with a Holley 750 and Edelbrock intake. Gas is fed through a Holley electric fuel pump. The entire car boasts a Painless wiring system too! The beast is backed by a Turbo 400 with Coan converter and 2800 stall handled with a B&M shifter. Power gets to the ground through a 12 bolt Posi and 3.73 gears. This car sounds nasty with Hooker headers and full length duals with electric cutouts that will set off car alarms in the distance! The wheels are 20” American Racing wrapped in Falken tires. Coil-overs on all four corners help this handle like a champ with tube A-arms up front and rear sway bar in the back. Helping it stop are 4 wheel disc brakes. The custom paint is a Sherwin-Williams and the previous chrome pieces have been given the matte and textured treatment from the same manufacturer. The many custom touches inside are a dash with Marshall Electric Gauges, center console, LED lighting, electric windows, touch screen stereo with Bluetooth, GPS and back-up camera. To attempt to drown out the noise Pioneer speakers a Kenwood Amp and subs will give it a go. Engine: 396 L-89 Transmission: M21 4-Speed ManualMileage: 11394 ( undocumented )
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible. This black big block is powered by a 375 horse 396 with the L-89 aluminum head option. This was a true screamer! Solid lifters and high compression pop-up pistons with free flowing aluminum Winters GM cylinder heads. This is not an original L-89 car, or the price would be near double as only a handful were ever built. However, this is a very accurate representation of a real L-89 car. The car featured has received a full frame off restoration in 2014 and will stop most people dead in their tracks. The paint appears as if it is miles deep and the rumble emitting from the coated ceramic headers and Flowmaster mufflers is intoxicating. Putting the power to the pavement is a close ratio Muncie M-21 4 speed manual, 12 bolt rear end with 4.10:1 posi traction gears and some wide radial rubber. The rear tires are 275/60R15 and the car needs it! These big blocks were known for their stump pulling torque. The solid lifter variant of the big blocks were some of the meanest on the street. With a redline of 6,500 RPM and a factory under rated 375 horsepower, this was not a car to underestimate. True power numbers are far above 400 horsepower, especially with headers. Some sources say adding headers to a solid lifter high RPM Chevy Big Block was worth 75-100 extra horsepower. The factory cast iron exhaust manifolds were very restrictive. Equipment on this big block 4 speed convertible include Power top, Power brakes, Power steering, Power windows, tilt steering column and an AM/FM radio. Triple black with Magnum 500 wheels wrapped with BFG radial rubber, this car is gorgeous. For more information, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000 or swing by for an up close viewing. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a Butternut Yellow 1969 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle Convertible. The Butternut Yellow is a base coat/clear coat application. Prior to the paint was applied the body was taken down to bare metal and prepped correctly. The paint is 8 years old and still shines wonderfully. The white vinyl top is free from any rips or tears and goes up and down smoothly. The white vinyl interior is free from rips or tears but does show some age. Powering this 69’ Malibu Convertible is a 350 CID V8 engine with an Edelbrock carburetor and a chrome air filter. A TH-350 automatic transmission transfers the power to the 10-bolt rear end that houses 2.73 gears. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The 69 Chevelle is one of the most popular cars to ever be built. Its great lines and fastback styling were an instant success with consumers. With a plethora of V8 engine options the car went from a success to one of the most iconic Muscle cars of its time. This beautiful example has been brought back to life with a frame off restoration. The car was taken down and slowly built back up. With no undercoating on the underside the restorers wanted to show off their work. The paint is clean and correct with the black vinyl top making for a great contrast. The chrome and trim are just as nice and the car a very finished and polished look. The 17” wheels give the car a modern look and help tie all of that chrome together. For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. The customer states that this Chevelle is a true SS 454 numbers matching car and has the build sheet to back it up! That’s right if you owner this car and someone utters the word clone or tribute you can smack them in the face with a copy of the build sheet, just make sure you use a copy as the original is thin and brittle. This 1970 Chevelle SS 454 for sale has been totally stripped down and taken for a ride on the rotisserie and put back together better than Chevrolet would have in 1970 when quality was not job one as advertised. Now I have seen a lot of so called Chevelle SS's, in fact I believe I have seen more SS's than Chevy ever made, and some of them were very nice cars, well made and wicked horsepower, this one tops them all and come complete with a build sheet that says it came with the 454 up front and a M22 rock crusher under the tunnel and a 12 bolt housing 3.73 gears holding up the rear and diving the power equally to the rear tires. Covered in Fathom Blue with white stripe and cowl induction hood out side and Black vinyl bucket seat in the inside all that’s missing is a led Zeppelin cassette in the radio and a pack of EZ wider’s ® to take you back to 1971. Okay, here is your chance to own an original not a copy or someone’s idea of what a 1970 Chevelle SS should be but according to the build sheet the real deal, don’t waste time as there are a lot of people out there looking for this car. Options for this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 speed for sale include: AM/FM radio, CD Changer, Power brakes, Power steering, Tilt steering wheel, Vinyl interior, Posi Traction and Radial tires wrapped around alloy rims.
