Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer a 1961 Mercedes SL 190 Cream in color with a deep red interior. Daimler-Benz began development of the 190 SL in 1952, just before the introduction of its volume Pontoon sedans. Like the sedans, it was constructed with a welded frame-floor structure and separate sub-frame. However, it rode a shorter wheelbase, not coincidentally, the same as the 300 SL. As the company’s first volume sports car, the 190 SL shared the 120-horsepower, 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine and running gear with the W120 model Type 180 Sedan, while also offering styling like the legendary 300 SL Gullwing Coupe and Roadster. The resemblance to the 300 SL was certainly intentional. At $3,840 new in 1955, it was half the price of its muscular sibling, which introduced a roadster model of its own starting in 1957. The 190 SL (for Sport Light) was produced from 1955 through 1963, with Mercedes-Benz building 25,881 units. The factory claimed a top speed of 110 mph, with 0–60 mph times of 13.3 seconds, while also offering up to 26 mpg, the perfect combination for effortless touring. The 190 SL was powered by a new, slightly over square 105 PS (77 kW; 104 hp) Type M121 BII 1.9 L straight-four SOHC engine. Based on the 300 SL's straight six, it had an unchanged 85 mm bore and 4.3 mm reduced 83.6 mm stroke, was fitted with twin-choke dual Solex carburetors, and produced 120 gross hp.To view this 1961 Mercedes SL190 in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ. Since this very original 1969 280SL rolled off the showroom floor it has been garage kept and well cared for by the same family! With just under 75,000 on the original engine and around 2,000 miles on the transmission that was replaced in the mid 90’s, this stunning example of a 280SL is still plenty road worthy and is a joy to drive. As you sit behind the wheel, you will be treated to a finely crafted and designed dash and gauge cluster that you’d expect in a car with the name plate Mercedes-Benz. The 2.8L I6 under the hood provides ample amounts of power for this light weight roadster to get moving in a hurry and the 4-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly between gears. The ride quality is smooth yet firm and handles corners very well. This car is a great option for someone looking for an original 280SL that hasn’t been tampered with and intends to enjoy it on nice sunny days. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this survivor 1959 Mercedes Benz 180 four door sedan. The 180 series were the bread-and-butter cars for Mercedes. It's believed that the car has been painted, but the interior looks original. There is some surface rust underneath, but it doesn't look like there's any rust-through. The car runs and drives well, with the four cylinder engine and the manual transmission giving its new owner decent performance and great gas mileage. If you like survivors, this 180 could be your next car. Although many were produced for nearly a decade, MB had a limited number of dealers in the US at the time this car was built. Consequently, very few were exported. Owning a car like this will get you a lot of attention and you probably won't see another one, unless you go to a Mercedes-specific event. Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando Florida is proud to offer This 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG. Though most people do not realize the Mercedes Benz company’s origins are rooted in the early racing scene. One of probably the most notorious stories was in 1934 Alfred Neubauer, head engineer at the time, directed his crew to grind off all the paint on their factory backed race cars. It had nothing to do with looks but about weight. The company has come a long way since 34 with their biggest priorities being luxury and safety. This 2003 has both but those three little letters behind it is what makes this droptop so special. This 03 has a clean AutoCheck and is ready to hit the open road. Under the hood is the hand-built Supercharged 5.5 LTR V8 that is putting out just shy of 500 ponies. Capable of turning out quarter miles times in the high 12’s this is one luxury hotrod that is as fast as it is beautiful. Of course, with that kind of speed brakes are not your average setup. The 14.2-inch rotors on the front and 13’s in the rear are drilled and vented to stay cool under pressure. The eight piston calipers increase the clamping force tremendously and bringing this droptop down to a halt in very respectable distances. Hit the button and watch as the AMG becomes a transformer, the trunk kicks up as the steel roof is lowered away. Hit the other button and watch as the hideaway roll bar comes up. The interior is full of fun stuff with the bucket seats being covered in some of the nicest leather you have ever seen. If you have been wanting to get one of the nicest fastest droptop’s to ever hit the streets but can’t justify the 6 figure selling prices on newer ones. This well-maintained example could be the right way to go. Options on this 2003 Mercedes Benz Sl55 AMG include, AC, AM/FM/CD, Power Convertible Top, Power Windows, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Cruise Control, Tilt Steering, Leather Interior, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this elegant and highly sought after 1973 Mercedes Benz 450SL. Since 1954 Mercedes Benz produced the SL = Sports Lightweight series. The one we have for sale in our South Florida showroom is in great condition.
