Gateway Classic Cars is excited to have a 1979 Kellison Stallion. The Stallion styled after the AC Cobra was a manufactured car and is not considered a “kit car”. This example number 2 of only 117 was built for Lynda Carter. It was known as the Wonder Woman Car. It is the only Stallion built without side pipes. Legend has it that this was to protect her million-dollar legs. Jim Kellison, who worked at Shelby, designed these cars and they were sold through select Lincoln and Rolls Royce dealers. The Stallion was designed with three key features in mind: safety, dependability and performance. The chassis, which is the foundation of any automobile, reflects these considerations in every detail. The basic chassis design has drawn heavily on the lessons learned in automobile racing by Jim Kellison, which explains the triangulated tubular steel space frame with a monocoque backbone - something normally found only in competition cars where maximum strength and torsional rigidity are achieved with a minimum of weight. The heart of the chassis is the backbone, which consists of a tubular subframe that supports a foam and steel "sandwich" - two sheets of 20-gauge sheet steel separated by an inch of structural foam. The backbone also insulates the cockpit against the noise and heat of the engine compartment. The backbone and the main rails are the foundation for the rest of the space frame, which provides the Stallion with outstanding crash resistance. Both the front and rear ends have been designed to absorb and dissipate the energy of 30 mph collision. Side penetration resistance is no less impressive: 3" by 4" extensions of the main rails support a network of steel tubing along the side of the cockpit. Each door has an internal framework of steel tubing and steel plates, to which the door hinges and latch mechanism are attached. The chassis was designed around Ford suspension components throughout. This eliminates the durability and service problems long associated with exotic sports cars. The front suspension used in the Stallion was developed by Ford from the experience they gained at Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona with the GT-40 racing program. The rear end was developed to meet the needs of Grand National stock car racing, and is ideal for high performance applications. While the technical foundation of the Stallion is the heart of the automobile, it is the car's styling that captures the eye. Although the Stallion resembles the AC Cobra, it is neither a copy or a replica. The original Stallion body was basically a full-scale sculpture, built by hand over the prototype chassis and it was from this prototype that the body mold was made. Fundamentally longer and wider than the original, the Stallion also differs in a host of other areas. As far as styling is concerned, the Stallion has the same relationship with the Cobra that the Cobra has with the AC Bristol; similar in appearance, but differing in all other aspects. In this respect, the Stallion follows the traditional pattern of the limited production sports car - each succeeding automobile evolved from the ones preceding, incorporating engineering advances as they occurred while retaining the basic design. The Stallion has drawn on 30 years of automotive racing and technological advances and integrated them into a totally new modern sports car with a body style that harkens back to the early sixties. The Camaro/Mustang rivalry had begun in 1967 with the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro was the largest threat to the lead Ford had in the "pony car" field, a market segment largely created by Ford with the introduction of the Mustang in mid-year 1964. The performance of the Mustang with 289 and 390 engines was not up to the Camaro, with its small block and big block V8. To improve the Mustang's image Ford made a 428 Cobra Jet V8 and a Ford Boss 302 engine optional for the 1968 mid-year and 1969 models, respectively. This 1970 Boss 302 is a numbers’ matching 302 CID V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission with Hurst Shifter and POSI rear with 3:91 gears. With just under 25,000 miles documented with no known wrecks or panel replacement, Options include: Boss 302 Engine, 4 Speed with factory Hurst Shifter, shaker assembly, front and rear spoilers, rear window slats, high back seats, AM radio, console, 15" Magnum wheels, Interior: Original seat covers, carpet, dash pad, door panels, original paint still in door jambs and trunk. Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer this incredible custom 1969 Pontiac GTO Restomod. This is not your average Restomod by any means. There was no expense spared in the making of this top notch GTO. The first thing you notice on this GOAT is the Inferno Orange paint finish. Done on rotisserie, this shows beautifully on the custom body work. It sits on a frame that was completely reinforced (boxed in) and painted black after being sand blasted. The black tinted windows help tie the colors in together perfectly. This car has a very serious suspension setup that has all the right parts. It has a complete performance suspension package by UMI that includes tubular control arms, and big sway bars with polyurethane bushings on the front and rear. On all four corners are QA1 fully adjustable coilovers. Steering is impressive on this with the addition of a rack and pinion steering system by Flaming River. It has a new tilt steering column with a new wheel. Braking on this beauty is supplied by a big brake package with crossed drilled and slotted rotors by Master Power Brakes. One of the most impressive parts of the car is the power plant. Inside the engine bay you will find an extremely clean, fully rebuilt LS6 engine with Performance Dart cylinder heads. This motor is force fed by a Magnuson TVS 2300 Supercharger. The engine has a complete, custom accessory drive kit finished in black ice and billet aluminum by Wegner Performance. This engine is cooled thanks to a performance radiator with dual electric fans by Dewitts. It's putting out a mind blowing 500hp and 485 ft lbs of torque on the Dyno, and it is mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, with performace clutch kit and hydraulic controls by American Powertrain. The rear end on this Inferno Orange performance car is a 12-bolt chevy rear end with limited slip differential and 3:42 gears. All of the power is kept in check via performance gauges by Auto Meter. The creature comforts and options in this car consist of everything you could possibly want. The cabin is kept cool by a Vintage Air, air conditioning kit. The interior is completely custom. This modern beast has an Android 2 Din stereo head unit with back up camera. The interior is black leather with orange stitching throughout, matching the orange exterior. This GTO has power windows, power locks, and power seats. There is a custom built center console with custom built door panels. The new carpets have dynamat insulation to keep the inside nice and quiet. The color scheme continues with orange LED illumination inside the vehicle. Outside this monster, all the lights are LED’s and the HID headlights have orange halo rings giving the GTO a mean look. When you aren’t listening to the roar of the engine, you can hear the two 6x9 Pioneer speakers on a package tray. This coupled with the 10” subwoofer box in the trunk makes for an excellent sound system. This ’69 sits on custom American Racing wheels wrapped in Continental performance tires. The wheels are 20” in the rear and 18” in the front, giving this Restomod the perfect staggered stance. You cannot reproduce the work on this car as it has so many custom touches. Professionally frame off build and restored. Chevrolet produced the first series of the Nomad’s from 1955 till 1957. For many car enthusiasts the 57 model is the top of the line, crème de la crème version. It doesn’t happen often that these wagons roll into our showrooms. We are thrilled to feature this 1957 Bel Air in our South Florida showroom. For us it was love on the first sight and the same will happen to you. There is only one phrase that can describe the engine compartment, “Wow that is beautiful”!!! Lots of chrome everywhere. Take a peak underneath the Nomad and you will be very satisfied too. The real fun starts when you turn the key. You always thought wagons are slow and boring to drive? Not this one folk. Powered by a 383ci V8 Stroker rated at 430hp and 450lbs torque this one takes off like a 747 Jumbo Jet. Shifted by a 700R4 automatic transmission and a posi 9” Ford rear end brings the power to the street. With Power Steering, Baer Disc Brakes all around and A/C it is a blast to ride in this 57 Bel Air Nomad. The Shelby Cobra was first made in 1961 when Carroll Shelby wrote to AC Cars, a British automotive company, and asked if they could build him a car with a V8 instead of their V6. Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this sleek LIMITED EDITION 1965 Shelby Cobra. This 50th Anniversary Cobra is the first one delivered of the 50 that were produced in total. It is untitled, and still on original MSO. The Shelby company has kept most of the features for the new Cobra much the same as the original 1965 model. They were manufactured with a lightweight body, fully independent suspension, upgraded disc brakes and come as a rolling chassis. The new owners had the option of engine and transmission as well has who installed these components into the car. This powerhouse features the iconic 427 CID V8 that has been bored and punched out to a 496 CID. The engine with built by Shelby and Robert Yates, and not only gives it a rare pedigree, it also gives the car some superior performance capabilities. The engine is aluminum and serial numbered to the car. This engine has only around 55 miles on it since new. Along with the engine the aluminum-cased 4-speed Top Loader has been Serial numbered to the car as well. The engine is mated with a 4-speed manual transmission that rips through the powerband with ease. With all the power being put to the ground, it’s vital to have plenty of stopping power. This beautiful piece of machinery features 4-wheel disk brakes with Wilwood calipers. When purchasing the vehicle there were only 2 color options. You can choose between polished aluminum or the classic blue and white (over the full aluminum body). This one of course got the clean blue and white combo and is in excellent condition and painted by Shelby. Sitting on a set of knock-off wheels this car is show ready and itching for a new owner. The interior of the car features black bucket seats that are in great condition.
