1965 Ford Mustang

1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: I6 200ci
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 13,242 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this All-American classic 1965 Ford Mustang. First introduced as a 1964 ½ model, the Mustang instantly took the world by storm and created an entirely new segment in the automobile industry. The popularity of the Mustang has never waned, and it still dominates the sporty 2-door segment even today. This blue drop-top beauty has been in the same family since the 1990’s. The Mustang still shows well, despite having an older restoration. There are a few areas that could use some attention, but this pony car still has good bones and would make a great “fair weather driver” or a kick-off point for a fresh restoration. A newer white convertible top and newer boot match the nice white vinyl interior. Power comes from the 200CID 6-cylinder mated to a 3-speed manual transmission, both of which have been rebuilt by a specialty shop in Greenfield, Indiana. The car has been garaged recently and has had very few miles driven since 2015-2016. It’s time to get this pony back on the road! Drop the top and take a cruise in style in one of the most iconic automobiles ever built. Be sure to visit our webpage at www.gatewayclassiccars.com to view 100+ HD pictures, as well as a short video of the Mustang in action. Better yet, stop by our Indianapolis showroom and see it in person. We’re located at 4400 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, In. 46268. 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Mileage: 16,467 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This gorgeous Mustang Fastback was fully restored 15 years ago and just had a gorgeous fresh full paint job! Powered by a mildly built 289 backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and putting power to the ground through a 8” Currie rear end with 3.55 gears, this baby will move! This pony car is made much more enjoyable to drive with 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and cold blowing A/C. The A/C is R134-A, so it is cheap and easy to recharge if it ever needs it. Other options include vinyl interior, seat belts, radial tires, aluminum alloy wheels, AM/FM/CD player, and fold down rear seat. During the restoration most of the metal on the car was replaced with new to make for a very solid Fastback! New exhaust including new manifolds and full dual exhaust was just done in 2015 along with high back bucket seats, and a new hydraulic clutch. The front end of this 65 was given a 66 grill which most people prefer as it is a cleaner look. Badging and emblems are kept to a minimum to maintain that smooth and clean look all around the car. 1965 was the first year for the mustang and is split into 2 categories: Early 1965 which is also known as the 1964 1/2 cars, and Late 1965 which include beauties like this example. There were small differences between the two, but the latter did use an alternator instead of a generator which almost everyone will agree was an upgrade. The fold down rear seat is the reason these cars were called 2+2s. You had a two-seat cruiser with the back seat folded down or you could put it up and seat 2 more passengers. Don’t miss your chance to own a very solid 65 Mustang priced on the lower end of the market! To view this 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 in greater detail including HD pictures and videos please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1965 Ford Mustang

1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 4,607 ( undocumented )

The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. Ford Model T Two-seater Roadsters which had a bucket shaped body were used as the base for the “T-Bucket”, a hot-rodder which were created and named by Norm Grabowski. 1931 Ford Model A

1931 Ford Model A

Engine: Flathead 4
Transmission: 3-Speed Manual
Mileage: 5,632 ( undocumented )

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe. The Model A paved the way for mass produced vehicles. By the end of the run, Ford had produced almost 5 million Model As. These vehicles could be purchased in a variety of body styles. From sporty roadsters to industrial trucks, the platform was extremely versatile. This particular example is the popular two door, 5 window coupe, and features a fold-a-way rumble seat behind the cab of the car. 1931 would be the last year for the ever popular Model A. Most would say the 5 window to be one of the most popular, especially for hot rodders. However, this fine example is no hot rod. This is a very well cared for original that has been fitted with some aftermarket add ons. First, and fairly common, are the add on turn signals. The next one is a big one, an inline gear reduction unit, a.k.a. an overdrive unit. This will make highway speeds a reality. It engages electronically via a switch located on the steering column. The body is finished in a dark brown that features a very slight metallic flake, the fenders are a solid gloss black, and the wire wheels are finished in yellow. The body features a yellow pinstripe to tie the whole thing together. The seat in the cab and rumble seat feature black vinyl upholstery, which are in very good condition. Under the hood is a simple flat head 4-cylinder engine. It uses a 3-speed manual transmission and transfers power to the rear axle. These cars are not speed machines, but they are torquey and fun to drive around town. This one fires up nicely and runs and drives like it should. The odometer reads 5,632, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe include Vinyl Interior, Wire Wheels, Bias Ply Tires, and a Rumble Seat. This Model A is road ready and has a lot of life left. It is ready for a parade or just a nice stroll on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Take home a piece of history with this 1931 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe. To view this 1931 Ford Model A in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis Showroom.
