1968 Pontiac Firebird

1968 Pontiac Firebird

Engine: 461 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 70,696 ( undocumented )

Originally sold in Denver, Colorado this 3 owner 1968 Pontiac Firebird is has been fully restored and ready for its new owner. It started out life with a 350 cubic inch V8 and a Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission. It has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with all new suspension, stock springs front and rear as well as all new bushings. The 10 bolt rear end was completely rebuilt and has a new Auburn limited slip spool housing 3.23 gears. Having new disc brakes front and rear help the car stop straight and very quick. Popping the bright red hood reveals the 1967 400 cubic inch Pontiac block that was completely inspected before being rebuilt. Engine is bored .030 over allowing for the 461 stroker assembly to call it home. The short block was assembled by one of the best engine builders in the area and after completion was dyno tuned and tested where it produced peak numbers of 497 horsepower and 570 ft. lbs. of torque. Diving into the list of components that have been built into this power house the bottom end consists of an Eagle crankshaft, forged 4340 rods, SRP forged racing pistons, high press and volume oil pump in a six-quart pan. Taking a look at the top end there is a full roller Comp camshaft, and a set of Edelbrock D port 87cc heads. Cam specifications are 502 int. and 510 exh. lift but with 1.6 ratio rockers lift is closer to actual 530. The engine was built this way to get good lift without excessive duration. Helping transfer all of this power to the ground is a completely brand new Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed transmission. This 4-speed is a wide ratio that works perfectly with the big engine and higher 3.23 rear end gears. When we said this was a complete restoration we ment it! Even the Ram clutch assembly is brand new with all new linkage. Everything in the drivetrain has been balanced complete with the flywheel and new driveshaft. This Firebird was built for handling and performance at any speed. Taking care of the handling performance up front is a set of BMR tubular upper and lower control arms, large BMR sway bar, and tall upper ball joints. All of the hard work has been done to bring this car to where it is all it needs is someone to take it to car shows or on road trips. Looking at the interior you’ll realize the seats have been re-upholstered with factory style covers. Everything on the dash has been replaced including a new dash pad, instrument cluster was rebuilt and while the owner was in there he replaced the heater core and blower motor. 1969 Pontiac GTO

1969 Pontiac GTO

Engine: LS6 Custom
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Mileage: 10 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer this incredible custom 1969 Pontiac GTO Restomod. This is not your average Restomod by any means. There was no expense spared in the making of this top notch GTO. The first thing you notice on this GOAT is the Inferno Orange paint finish. Done on rotisserie, this shows beautifully on the custom body work. It sits on a frame that was completely reinforced (boxed in) and painted black after being sand blasted. The black tinted windows help tie the colors in together perfectly. This car has a very serious suspension setup that has all the right parts. It has a complete performance suspension package by UMI that includes tubular control arms, and big sway bars with polyurethane bushings on the front and rear. On all four corners are QA1 fully adjustable coilovers. Steering is impressive on this with the addition of a rack and pinion steering system by Flaming River. It has a new tilt steering column with a new wheel. Braking on this beauty is supplied by a big brake package with crossed drilled and slotted rotors by Master Power Brakes. One of the most impressive parts of the car is the power plant. Inside the engine bay you will find an extremely clean, fully rebuilt LS6 engine with Performance Dart cylinder heads. This motor is force fed by a Magnuson TVS 2300 Supercharger. The engine has a complete, custom accessory drive kit finished in black ice and billet aluminum by Wegner Performance. This engine is cooled thanks to a performance radiator with dual electric fans by Dewitts. It's putting out a mind blowing 500hp and 485 ft lbs of torque on the Dyno, and it is mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, with performace clutch kit and hydraulic controls by American Powertrain. The rear end on this Inferno Orange performance car is a 12-bolt chevy rear end with limited slip differential and 3:42 gears. All of the power is kept in check via performance gauges by Auto Meter. The creature comforts and options in this car consist of everything you could possibly want. The cabin is kept cool by a Vintage Air, air conditioning kit. The interior is completely custom. This modern beast has an Android 2 Din stereo head unit with back up camera. The interior is black leather with orange stitching throughout, matching the orange exterior. This GTO has power windows, power locks, and power seats. There is a custom built center console with custom built door panels. The new carpets have dynamat insulation to keep the inside nice and quiet. The color scheme continues with orange LED illumination inside the vehicle. Outside this monster, all the lights are LED’s and the HID headlights have orange halo rings giving the GTO a mean look. When you aren’t listening to the roar of the engine, you can hear the two 6x9 Pioneer speakers on a package tray. This coupled with the 10” subwoofer box in the trunk makes for an excellent sound system. This ’69 sits on custom American Racing wheels wrapped in Continental performance tires. The wheels are 20” in the rear and 18” in the front, giving this Restomod the perfect staggered stance. You cannot reproduce the work on this car as it has so many custom touches. Take this to any show, track, street, or venue and prepare to be asked about this powerful piece of art. 1968 Pontiac GTO

Engine: 400/350HP

Mileage: 37,585 ( undocumented )

This cool 1968 Pontiac GTO is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 68 GTO was brought out as a completely redesigned model with a much more curvaceous body. The styling ques and performance allowed Pontiac to sale over 87000 units that year. Today these cars are still sought after for the same reasons making the GTO one of the most sought-after muscle cars to this day. This green example is one of the few cars that has only had 2 owners in its lifetime. The current owner bought it in 1970 and kept it until now with a copy of the bill of sale included. The paperwork and receipts that come with the car are rather extensive with the original build sheet found under the gas tank are included as well. The green paint is correct to the car with it having a respray done some time ago. The panels are original to the car and are in good condition. The Endura bumper was the major thing that separated the GTO from a Chevelle. This one Under the hood you will find the original 400/350HP engine that still has plenty of power and runs extremely well. The 4-speed transmission shifts out nicely with a great feel on the pedal. The interior is believed to be original to the car and shows no signs of wear. The black vinyl buckets upfront are exactly what you would except in 68. The 4-speed shifter is in a great position to hammer through those gears. Speaking of gears the original rear-end is still intact with the 3.23 gears. Many consider these the perfect mix of acceleration and highway driving. If you have been looking for an exceptionally original car with the documentation showing that is genuine this 68 is the right car for you.
