We are excited to offer for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars Saint Louis Showroom this first generation Ford Thunderbird. The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette. Production of the Thunderbird began later on in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954 and sold exceptionally well in its first year; outselling theCorvette by more than 23-to-one for 1955 with 16,155 Thunderbirds sold against 700 Corvettes. With the Thunderbird considered a success, a few changes were made to the car for 1956. The most notable change was moving the spare tire to a continental-style rear bumper in order to make more storage room in the trunk and a new 12 volt electrical system. You'll be happy to hear that this low (actual) mileage classic Thunderbird has been held by the same family for nearly three decades and was stored for most of that time. The interior and body was repainted in 2016, but these are still the original panels, engine, and interior components. The smooth drive of one of Ford's most beautiful designs is a standard 312 cu in (5.1 L) V8 that was engineered to produce 245 horsepower (183 kW). With its classic look, colors, lines, white-wall tires, and low body, this Thunderbird is a great find and will a its next owner very proud to have and to hold onto. Ford Panel Truck for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. These trucks are known by those who grew up with them as the backbone of the post-war American economy and now a lot of them are living on as hot rods. Our Panel Truck has been with the same owner for the last 30 years and has a restoration story of its own behind it. It was found by the owner in the Phoenix, Arizona area and was married to a 1975 Dodge Aspen; the 318 CID V8 from the Dodge was resealed along with the 3-speed automatic transmission. The torsion bar suspension from the Dodge fits perfectly under the chassis on 1953-56 Panel Trucks so this otherwise bloated truck rides much more like a car now too! This Panel looks mean in its jet-black paintjob and the business look continues inside with black and gray vinyl seats and a black plastic center console with cupholders. This truck comes with all-important Vintage Air! The gauges are surrounded by tasteful chrome and really look the part in this retro-modern build while the steering wheel from a Ford commercial vehicle adds a thoughtful touch. The windows on this truck have been tinted and it also has all-new weather-stripping. Other options on this 1956 Ford Panel Truck for sale include Power Steering, Power Brakes, a Tilt Wheel, Power Windows, Power Seats, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires and Air Conditioning. Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this beautifully restored 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The 1956 Ford Thunderbird is one of those designs that never goes out of style, and remains an instantly-identifiable icon of the 50s. Beautifully styled, comfortable, and with enough performance to keep almost any gearhead happy, they are perhaps the best combination of styling and performance from the 1950s. It can easily be said that the 1st generation of Thunderbird was their finest. Between 1955 and 1957 the Thunderbird was a small 2 seat roadster which was comparable to the Chevrolet Corvette. These cars could be had with a 292 CI V8, or an optional 312 CID V8. This T-bird has the larger 312 as well as a Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission, along with new wiring, stainless exhaust, and an electric radiator fan. The vivid red paint is stunning along with the red and white interior. This Thunderbird has power brakes, power steering, and a Town and Country AM radio. Stylings include round portholes in the removable hardtop, wire wheels with spinners, Firestone whitewalls, Continental kit, and fender skirts. For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this beautiful 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The first generation of the Thunderbird was Ford’s answer to Chevrolet’s Corvette. The Tbird story started in 1953 on paper and Ford showed the first prototype in early 1954. Even though it was a rapid development Ford did a fantastic job and today the early Thunderbirds are on top of the list of almost every car enthusiast in the world. This particular 1956 Ford Thunderbird is a very nice driver. Lady owned for the past 10 years and she took good care of her “Baby Bird” Olivia. For many people the cars from the 50’s are considered a piece of art. It is a pleasure to just walk around this turquoise Thunderbird and see the many details and the great craftmanship. After the walk around, you want to get in the drivers seat and take off in it. This Tbird is powered by its 292ci V8 engine and shifted by an automatic transmission. You will have a good time driving this one around town. A major plus is that the car comes with both tops, the port hole hardtop and a soft top. To put an additional soft top in an early Thunderbird would cost you between $4000 and $5000. Folks, this one has it already folded up behind the bench seat. The continental kit and the white wall tires are a perfect fit to the Bird. This is a great buy if you are not looking to spent a fortune on one. This is a great driver that is ready for new adventures. Let it ride. To see 100+ HD pictures and a video of this 1956 Ford Thunderbird, please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Engine: 351 CID Windsor V8Transmission: 3-Speed AutomaticMileage: 7,285 ( undocumented )
Now for sale in the beautiful Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is this awesome 1956 Ford F-100. The truck is powered by a strong and very fresh 351 CID V8 Windsor engine and a 3-speed FMX transmission. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt within 5,000 miles and the truck was finished in a gorgeous R-M Diamond base coat and clear coat in Guards Red. It features an 8.8 Mustang rear end with a really nice and well balanced 3.73 gear ratio. The actual miles are unknown, but the odometer shows only 7,285 and it was rebuilt less than 5,000 miles ago. Inside the cabin you will find a finely put together leather interior and features like ice cold A/C, AM/FM radio, CD player, tilt wheel and seat belts. Outside you will like the alloy rally wheels with radial tires. Power brakes and power steering have been added also to make this truck even easier to drive. The Ford F-series has been massively successful for the company. Since 1981 it has been the best-selling vehicle in America and the best-selling truck since 1977! We have been on the thirteenth generation of F-Series since 2015 but this is the second generation of the trucks. The second-generation F-Series made its debut in 1953. It featured increased dimensions, improved engines and an updated chassis. This was also the start of a new naming scheme that paved the way for the trucks. The F-1 was changed to F-100, F-2 and F-3 was combined to become F-250 and the F4- was named the F350. The F-100 was significantly changed in the 1957 and lost some of it’s beautiful lines and curves present on this one. This was the final year of the second generation and therefore it is a very desirable year. Some of these trucks fetch close to $100,000 so it isn’t hard to see that this one is a fantastic deal. Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. Upon the birth of the Mustang in 1964, the American working class was finally offered an affordable entry into the world of hobbyist vehicles. Upon decoding the VIN and doorplate, we learn that this Mustang was birthed in the Dearborn, MI plant, before being DSO’d to Lansing, MI. The car has undergone a loving restoration in the past, but has managed to retain its originality in terms of powerplant, Rangoon Red exterior, and interior color. This Pony is a “C-Code car”, meaning that she was optioned with a 289 CID 2V V8 with a matching C4 automatic from the factory, as well as a power top, power steering, and power brakes, making this Mustang extremely approachable in terms of ownership. All too often, these pony cars were sent out the door with a 170 or 200 CID inline 6 cylinder. This C-Code Stang, however, supplies the driver with steadfast confidence in the car’s ability to move comfortably up steep inclines with minimal throttle.
