Bathed in the well-known performance shade of Hugger Orange, this Nova is turn-key ready for the track. This car was built by Pyle Brothers in Baytown, TX, and the professional build quality is evident. From the full tubular chassis and integrated roll cage, one can easily spot a purpose-built drag car. Sporting a huge snorkel hood scoop, Strange Engineering high-torque axles, and Strange Engineering braking (multipiece slotted and drilled rotors front and rear, Strange multi-piston calipers front and rear), multi-piece Weld Drag wheels at all four corners, M/T skinnies up front, M/T 33x15.0x15 slicks out back, and wheelie bars, this car says "race-only baby!", even from a distance. Under the hood is a massive 490 CID big block Chevy V8 (built by Houston Engine and Balancing), sporting Dart heads and valve covers, an Edelbrock high-rise aluminum manifold, Holley race carb, and a gigantic deep sump oil pan. Uncapped race headers help route the spent combustion mix, which they do very effectively, and with tremendous sound and fury. Twin electric fans keep the radiator temp in check, and the electric water pump keeps the coolant flowing with no loss of power or cooling efficiency. A competition-prepped GM Powerglide 2-speed automatic handles the single gear change from tree to the finish line, and it'll take everything that 490 CID V8 can dish out, plus more. A full competition-approved fuel cell and the trunk-mounted Optima battery are easy to get to by removing the Dzus-fastened trunk, and more Dzus fasteners allow easy access to key driveline components normally covered by the floor pan. Out back, a Ford 9-inch rear end serves as part of a fully adjustable multi-link rear suspension with Drag Coil-over shocks and wheelie bar serve to keep the rear end planted and the front end out of the sky at launch. Inside, the driver has all controls within easy reach, and fingertip controls make it easy, with the Painless wiring setup and control panel being reachable even when the driver is fully belted into the Kirkey racing bucket with the massive Simpson race harness. This back-halved car is ready to hit the strip with no excuses, and is ready for the pit crew between passes, with its abundant Dzus fasteners providing easy on/off of hood and trunk. The chassis and cage are 2016 NHRA certified, with certification number A710909, for 8.50 and slower ET vehicles. A full set of gauges help the driver keep track of critical functions, and a removable steering wheel helps for easier ingress/egress before and after your hot passes. For night racing at the track, you'll like the fact that the headlights, taillights, and brake lights all work. If you're looking for a turn-key 9 second drag car, this is the one you want. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Nova. This Nova is way meaner than one may think. Power for this bad machine comes from 450 cubic inch small block using an aftermarket "Rocket" block. This special block allows for a bit more displacement without sacrificing the blocks integrity. The go fast goodies inside include a full solid roller valve train, Manley connecting rods, 10.5:1 JE Pistons, Quick Fuel carburetor and AFR aluminum high flow cylinder heads to name a few. Power is estimated in the 600 horsepower range. Firing up this amazing power plant will impress any gear head. Many would think that an engine with such power and menacing sound would be a difficult one to drive. Believe it or not, this one is very well mannered. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch and is equipped with 3.00:1 gear set for easy highway use. Since the drivetrain build, the car has covered a modest 1,000 miles and is ready for more use and enjoyment. Slowing down such a machine means that drums won't do the job anymore. In place is a new pair of Wilwood front disc brakes while drums remain out back, but still doing their job. Weld Racing wheels look right at home on this Nova as does the Green on Green paint scheme. Adding a little flair to the exterior in addition to the wheels is a set mild stripes that barley show themselves. You may even call them ghost stripes. Inside is stock Nova with exception of the aftermarket gauges. The original bench seat is quite comfy and looks really good. Just 18 months after the designers got the green light, the first production Chevy II rolled off the Willow Run, Michigan, assembly line in August of 1961. The 1962 Chevy II was never intended to be revolutionary in concept or execution, its mission was to give Chevrolet buyers a simple, back-to-the-basics compact car. There was a lot of debate within the Chevrolet organization over just what to call this car, and the decision to go with "Chevy II" was a late one. Among the finalists was Nova, which lost out because it didn't start with a "C,". Ultimately the Nova badge would replace Chevy II, but that wouldn't happen until 1969. This amazing 1967 Chevy II is definitely a step up from the rest. With a stunning pearlescent white paint job with a flat black stripe on the hood. With a mint black vinyl interior, she's bound to turn heads wherever it goes. Sitting on a church boys racing front suspension. The second generation Chevy II Nova was produced by GM for the 1966-1967 model years and included 2 -door, 4-door and 4-door station wagon versions. Of the 106,500 total vehicles built in 1967, only 12,900 were wagons. The base power plant was an inline 6-cylinder, 194 cubic inch motor mated to a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission with column mounted shifter. The top of the line for these models was the venerable 327 cubic inch V8 that turned the Nova into a proper muscle car! This tastefully customized 1967 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon is powered by a rebuilt 327 Chevrolet V8 with a mild cam added. This mill looks and sounds serious and features chrome detailing, new aluminum radiator, new headers and stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust system. You’ll be sitting in the lap of sports luxury in this beautiful 1995 Chevrolet Impala! This muscle car, has all of the creature comforts of a luxury vehicle of the late 90’s: air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, leather interior, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio and cassette player! In a 1995 Chevrolet showroom, you would see Berretta’s or Grand Am’s…not exactly heart throbbing muscle... The only medicine for the car bug was a new ‘Vette or to find something in the paper or at swap meet as the internet was Windows 95 and Netscape. That is until the guys at Chevrolet decided to change that with the Chevrolet Impala SS. Take a Caprice 9C1 police package and drop in a Corvette LT1 5.7-liter 350 CID. With 260 hp and 330 lb-ft torque this Impala SS does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds which at the time was unheard of in a sedan. Add a Sport-tuned suspension with reinforced shocks and springs then lower it 2 inches. Add a high capacity reserve-flow cooling system, bigger four wheel disc brakes, transmission cooler, duel exhaust and high output electrical system, all the fun stuff they could find sitting on the shelves methodically thought through without over doing anything. Standard 3.08 gears with limited-slip rear differential were standard. The new Impala SS would get body colored trim, unique blacked out headlight wrappings and matching single bar grill less a hood ornament but addition rear deck spoiler. Fit this beast with 17-inch brushed aluminum wheels and very beefy 255/50zr/17 all-season z-rated tires and you’ve got yourself a very powerful modern day muscle car fitted with all the modern day safety features including airbags. Interior received leather bucket seats and nicely embroidered SS on the head front head rests and Impala logo embroidered center rear seating. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop. This sweet little 210 is powered by a 327 small block Chevy and backed by a manual 4-speed transmission. Power is sent to a stock '57 rear end housing a set of 3.36:1 rear gears allowing for fun around town yet still very highway worthy. The paint is base coat clear coat Quasar Blue Metallic, is roughly 2-3 years old, is still looking great and right at home on this '57 210. Inside you'll find a stock appearing interior with correct 210 seats. Most restorations seem to lean towards Bel Air interiors regardless if they’re Bel Airs or not. The 210 looks just as good and is in an Ivory and Charcoal color scheme that goes quite well with the Quasar Blue Metallic. Miles are showing 73,010 and are believed to be original. Modern upgrades include an aluminum radiator to help dissipate heat and keep the engine running cool. Adding to the aluminum radiator is an electric cooling fan. These electric fans are very good to have during any summer parade or stuck in traffic where the clutch fan isn't spinning fast enough to keep things cool. Brakes are original style drums and are brand new. An Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold helps breath cool air into the heads and an Edelbrock carburetor supplies the fuel. Edelbrock has sure made a name for themselves over the years and this easy to use carburetor solidifies their great reputation. Other notable restoration items include a new windshield, new side glass and rubber gaskets for the doors, windshield and trunk. 1957 Chevy's are as American as Apple Pie and probably one of the most recognizable cars ever built.
