Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very cool 1955 Chevrolet Nomad. Tri-Fives have become a symbol of Americana. From four doors, to two doors, to wagons, and convertibles, they're are loveable and enjoyable in their own way. Perhaps the most sought after, is the two door wagon known as a Nomad. The Nomad has a sleeker and sportier look than most wagons with its tilted forward B-Pillars and dramatic sloping rear tailgate. There's no question this sporty wagon has a beautiful silhouette that a whole generation can relate to. This particular Nomad has been spruced up with some tasteful touches. The exterior is finished in bright red with a white roof which looks right on this car. It sits on larger 5 spoke polished wheels which scale down the car a bit and make it look more modern. These are 17" Boyd Coddington wheels wrapped in 235/45/17 tires. Pop the hood and you'll find a healthy 350 CID with dual 4 barrel carburetors. With two fours and a sweet set of dual pipes, this small black runs strong and sounds great. The interior is two tone to match the exterior with very unique seat upholstery material. They certainly don't make interiors like they used to. This Nomad was restored about 10 years ago and has held up well since. If you're looking for a tri-five that will draw a crowd wherever you go, it's gotta be a Nomad. You can see this 1955 Chevrolet Nomad in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 618-271-3000 or stl@gatewayclassiccars.com with any questions.

1955 Chevrolet Pickup

Engine: 235 Inline 6
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 339 ( since rebuilt )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is an early series 1 1955 Chevrolet Pick Up. This one has received an extremely detailed restoration and is probably better than new. It also benefits from an upgraded 12 volt system that also includes a 12 volt starter and electric windshield wiper replacing the old and unreliable vacuum operated wiper. Painted green with black running boards, wide white walls, driver’s side side mounted spare and an Oak bed paired with a beautiful Parchment interior. The interior is just as easy on the yes as is the rest of the truck. The gauges were restored and look new, the two tone bench seat looks great as do all of the knobs and cranks. You'll also notice seat belts and a heat controller for those chilly Autumn drives. During the restoration, all of the rubber seals and window fuzzies were replaced including the often overlooked vent window seals. Helping protect the exterior are clear rubber covers for the tailgate's chains and a rubber mat to protect the beautiful Oak bed with stainless inserts. Open the hood and the detail continues. All new wiring and proper detail. You can tell that the restorer took their time and focused on detail and accuracy. The Thrift Master 235 Inline 6 purrs like a kitten and the 3 speed column shift is easy to operate. Both are original to the truck, have been rebuilt during the restoration and have covered 336 miles since the rebuild. The undercarriage will not disappoint as it is also as detailed as the rest of this impressive 3100. The Series One represent the early 1955s that share the previous body style found on earlier Chevy Pick Ups. Mid year 1955 (Series 2) received the updated front end among other changes. The Series 1 seem to be the most sought after model considering they are the end of a long run of a successful generation of truck. For more information on this top notch restoration, call 618-271-3000 or swing by our St. Louis showroom. To view 100+ HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com.

Engine: 265 CID V8
Transmission: Turbo 350
Mileage: 75,418 ( undocumented )

Up for sale in our Louisville showroom is this gorgeous 1955 Chevrolet Hard Top Bel Air. The Hard-Top designation comes from the elimination of the post between the front and rear side windows making this a highly desired feature. 1955 was the first year for Chevrolet’s “Shoe Box” body style, which proved to be very successful. The Bel Air was Chevrolet top trim level, featuring more chrome than the 210 or 150 and offered many more desirable options. Powering this ’55 Bel Air is a period correct looking 265ci V8 engine sending its horsepower to a smooth 350 turbo transmission. The red leather and tan cloth interior sure do look great and make this 55 comfortable to ride in. The power steering and power brakes add to the comfort and ease of gliding this beautiful bowtie down the road. The icing on the cake is the vintage air system that will keep you cool on those long hot summer days while you are enjoying cruising in this beauty. Adding to the cool factor of this 55 Chevy are the 18” billet specialty rims and 225/40zr 18 front and 225/45zr 18 rear wheels. 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

Engine: LS7 (427)
Transmission: 4L60E
Mileage: 126 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this unbelievably custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. The 55 Chevy Bel-Air is arguably one of the best-looking cars ever built. There clean lines and finless design make them great candidates for full on custom builds. Art Morrison started out building frames for tubbed out drag cars in the 70’s and 80’s but the company really took off when he began building his line of pro-touring chassis’. This 55 is sitting on one of his custom-built frames which not only looks good but increases the handling of the car dramatically. Finished off in the same Erica red paint as the body making the transition from floor pan to frame almost seamless. With touches of chrome here and there to break it up you can tell this was a well thought out build. The stance of the car was also dramatically changed due to the chassis as well with it sitting much lower than a stock 55. The wheels will be the next thing you notice with the set consisting of 18’s in the front and 20’s in the back giving the car that aggressive look. Behind those wheels are a set of chrome plated calipers that blend nicely while the cross-drilled and slotted rotors show people you mean business. Under that silky-smooth hood is was most consider the Mecca of LS powerplants. This LS7 has been built with a mild cam giving it a nice lope at idle but the real work is in the details. The intake has been painted to match with the custom firewall being cleaned up which flows into the custom inner fender wells. A custom piece of metal was formed to cover up the radiator as well making this engine bay look seamless like the rest of the car. Putting power to the road is a built 4l60 transmission giving you the capability to drive this beauty down the freeway comfortably at highway speeds. Inside the custom touches are extensive with the dash being made from one piece of metal as well. The gauges and AC vents are molded into that custom dash as well keeping with that flowing design. The leather wrapped seats are extremely comfortable while the Lokar shifter sits perfectly in the custom-made console. With this car being a fresh build and never shown to the public this beauty is guaranteed to collect a whole room of trophies or do what this car was intended to do Drive It! Options on this 1955 Custom Chevrolet Bel Air include, AC, AM/FM, Power Windows, Power Steering, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, and Aluminum Wheels with Radial Tires.
