For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a well documented, 3 owner 1976 Pontiac Trans Am. This Trans Am is finished in gloss black paint with painted gold decals and pin striping . The rising Phoenix or "Screaming Chicken" (whichever you choose to call it) stands proud on the hood of this classic Trans Am. Pontiac produced a special edition Trans Am in 1976 to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, it featured the same black and gold treatment. This particular Trans Am is not a Special Edition, but it sure does look good with this paint scheme and wheels. Originally this 76' Trans Am featured a 400 CID V8, but in 1979 the 400 was swapped out for a 455 CID V8 that was donated from a 1971 GTO. The 455 was bored to 468 CID, and was blueprinted and balanced. A TH350 automatic transmission with a 2,400 converter transfers the power to the 12 bolt Posi-Trac rear end that houses 3.50 gears. The odometer reads 47,789, which is believed to be the actual mileage on the car. The rebuilt engine is believed to have approximately 15k-20k miles on it. Options for this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am include: AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Aluminum/Alloy Honeycomb Rally Wheels, and Radial Tires. The white vinyl interior is in very good condition, with little to no signs of wear. Providing the classic 70's look and stance for the T/A are the alloy honeycomb rally wheels. This 76' Trans Am is sure to turn heads, whether you are running blocker for a load from Texarkana or just to your local cruise or car show.
