For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautiful 1940 Buick 50 Super. This classic 40’ Buick is believed to be powered by the original Straight 8 V8 engine and 3 speed manual transmission on the column, a true “3 on the Tree”. The two-tone gray on gray paint scheme was resprayed the original colors in 2014, and features Alemeda Gray on top and Nottingham Gray on bottom. Both are PPG brand paints which also feature a clear coat. The wheels were also repainted in the original Dante Red. The car was owned by the same family for 25 years, in 2013 it was purchased by the current owner who brought the car back to life. The new owner had the following service completed: rebuilt fuel pump, master cylinder, replaced intake and exhaust manifold, installed new radiator, new front wheel cylinders, re-chromed the bumpers and guards, and replaced all windows with safety glass. The interior is believed to be original. The tan upholstery and wood grain accents, dash included, are in very good condition, especially considering they are almost 80 years old! The odometer reads 47,151, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1940 Buick 50 Super include: Cloth Interior, Hub Caps, and Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires. This old Buick fires right up, and runs extremely well. It is ready for the parade circuit or a leisurely Sunday drive. Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a very cool 1935 Buick Series 40. This very attractive Buick has been fitted with all the right toys to make it one of the best cruising hot rods on the road. Most importantly, this Buick is equipped with a very powerful 350 CID Chevy small block V8 that provides plenty of power to move this steel bodied Buick around town. The smooth running engine is matted to a super smooth shifting automatic transmission which allows you to sit back and enjoy the ride rather than shifting through gears in your Buick cruiser. The Claret Red colored paint on this Buick jumps out at you and does a perfect job of showing off the beautiful, curvaceous body lines on this Buick which still retains all of the original steel body parts. The Claret Red theme is continued onto the interior of this cool hot rod and is a perfect complement to this stylish exterior. The Classic Instrument dash layout is very simple and informative, just as how it should be and looks great with the burrel wood dash. This pretty Buick rests on a set of Cragar wheels wrapped in a crisp set of Hankook Radials which have plenty of tread left on them. There really is no better feeling that being in a Hot Rod that gets you thumbs up at every corner you turn. This Buick also has modern amenities to make it a true turn-key cruiser such as Power Steering, Power Brakes, modern air conditioning, and a CD Player in case you prefer to listen to your favorite tunes as opposed to the rumble of the V8 that is pushing you around. 1935 Buick Series 40

1935 Buick Series 40

Engine: 383 Stroker
Transmission: T10 Richmond 4 Speed
Mileage: 100 ( since rebuilt )

This one-off custom 1935 Buick Series 40 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Streetrods have been a staple in the car for world for an extremely long time. This Streetrod has been customized to a degree that is sure to make the next owner proud to call it their own. Starting with smoothing the body by removing the bumpers the car began to take shape. The opera windows were closed off with a custom skull carved into a piece of sheet metal which was laid on top. Turn on the red LED behind it and watch as it comes to life. The skull theme is carried on into the grill which is one of the neatest pieces I have seen. The red lights behind it illuminate it and help to showoff how much detail went into this build. Even the side marker lights have been cut out into skulls, but the best has to be the custom hood ornament with its little red eyes glowing at you. The body has been sitting back on the original frame which was cleaned up for a nicer look. The front end has been switched out to a more modern Mustang II style giving it a better ride. The rear end is courtesy of a S10 with the ladder bar suspension helping to plant all the power to the ground. Speaking of power, the 383 stroker under that hood is enough to wake the dead. Consisting of Procomp Aluminum Heads, a Holley 750 Double Pumper, and HEI Distributor this is one rowdy small block. An aluminum dress up kit makes it look good while Hedman Headers take care of the exhaust. The Richmond 4 speed makes this rod, a blast to drive and something not seen in too many of them. Open the doors and you will notice it’s a clear shot straight through with no B pillar to obstruct the view. With reinforcements added you don’t have to worry about the body beginning to sag over time. The front seats are out of a 95 Mustang and have been recovered to match the rest of the car. Although it appears to have manual windows hit the handle down or up and the power window moves accordingly. If you have been looking for a great custom streetrod that is sure to grab everyone’s attention this 35 Series Buick is the one. Options on this 1935 Buick Series 40 include; Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Seat, Manual Convertible Top, Seat Belts, and Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. 1940 Buick Special Coupe

1940 Buick Special Coupe

Engine: 248 ci
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 46785 ( undocumented )

Our Atlanta Showroom is proud have this 1940 Buick Special Coupe for sale. The Buick Straight-eight engine (Fireball 8) was produced from 1931 to 1953 and sold in Buick automobiles, replacing the Buick Straight-6 engine across the board in all models in 1931. Like many American automobile makers, Buick adopted the straight-8 engine in 1931 as a more powerful alternative to the previous engines. However, unlike most other car makers at the time, Buick had been using a valve-in-head/OHV overhead valve design or I-head since its inception and continued this practice in their inline-8 designs. When introduced in 1940 the new Series 50 Super featured the cutting-edge "torpedo" C-body. When combined with a column mounted shift lever the cars offered true six passenger comfort, changes that had clearly been influenced by the Cadillac Sixty Special. The basic formula for the 1940 to 1952 Super was established by mating the Roadmaster's longer behind the engine cowl body to the Series 40 Special's smaller straight-eight engine and consequently shorter engine compartment. This led to an economical combination of voluminous passenger room and relatively good fuel economy. This 2 door model had a frame off restoration about 10 years ago. The car was completely disassembled stripped and repainted. The owner laid down 12k to paint this time capsule and put in all new rubber, glass, chrome wheels, new interior with high quality leather, and all new brakes. There was over $50,000 invested in the restoration. The Buick starts, runs, drives, and stops like it should. To view the car in greater detail, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For more information please call the Atlanta showroom at 678-894-4833 or e-mail us at Atlanta@GatewayClassicCars.com!
