For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. 1972 would be the last hurrah for the muscle car and Chevrolet was tough to let it go. This '72 Chevelle SS clone is powered by a new 454 crate engine and is backed by a TH-350 automatic on back to a 12 bolt rear end housing 3.73 gears. Power is never in short supply when a big block is in play. Not all 454s are known for high rpm screaming like their little brother, the small block. They do however pack a mean punch with boat loads of torque. That's not the only thing going for this Yellow Chevelle. Equipment includes Power steering, Power brakes, Air conditioning and an AM/FM radio with a CD changer in the trunk. Painted yellow over white vinyl and riding on a set of aftermarket aluminum wheels wrapped in radial rubber. The seller of this one happened to like the '71 Chevelle corner lights better than '72 and fitted the car with a pair. Other than that small detail, it represents a '72 quite well. The 454 crate engine has covered a modest 1,723 miles since it was installed, and the odometer reset at the time to keep an accurate eye on the miles. Another bonus for this one, the seller is claiming the car to still be retaining all its original sheet metal. The car appears to be very solid and a great one for someone to enjoy as is or take to the next level. For more information on this big block powered 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle, call 618-271-3000 or stop by our St. Louis showroom. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com.

Engine: 396 L-89 Transmission: M21 4-Speed ManualMileage: 11,394 ( undocumented )
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible. This black big block is powered by a 375 horse 396 with the L-89 aluminum head option. This was a true screamer! Solid lifters and high compression pop-up pistons with free flowing aluminum Winters GM cylinder heads. This is not an original L-89 car, or the price would be near double as only a handful were ever built. However, this is a very accurate representation of a real L-89 car. The car featured has received a full frame off restoration in 2014 and will stop most people dead in their tracks. The paint appears as if it is miles deep and the rumble emitting from the coated ceramic headers and Flowmaster mufflers is intoxicating. Putting the power to the pavement is a close ratio Muncie M-21 4 speed manual, 12 bolt rear end with 4.10:1 posi traction gears and some wide radial rubber. The rear tires are 275/60R15 and the car needs it! These big blocks were known for their stump pulling torque. The solid lifter variant of the big blocks were some of the meanest on the street. With a redline of 6,500 RPM and a factory under rated 375 horsepower, this was not a car to underestimate. True power numbers are far above 400 horsepower, especially with headers. Some sources say adding headers to a solid lifter high RPM Chevy Big Block was worth 75-100 extra horsepower. The factory cast iron exhaust manifolds were very restrictive. Equipment on this big block 4 speed convertible include Power top, Power brakes, Power steering, Power windows, tilt steering column and an AM/FM radio. Triple black with Magnum 500 wheels wrapped with BFG radial rubber, this car is gorgeous. For more information, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000 or swing by for an up close viewing. For sale in our Saint Louis Showroom is this 1972 SS Clone Chevrolet Chevelle. The restoration work includes replaced Quarter Panels, Front Fenders, Outside Door Handles, Dash Padding, Vintage A/C and Heat added, A/C Vents, new Carburetor, new Flowmaster Exhaust with Chrome Tips, Alternator, Guages, Tackometer, 10 Bolt Posi-traction, Stock SS Wheels, and Spare Tire Covers. Altogether, there has been a great investment in time and detail to make this classic girl a thing of beauty. In 1964 the Chevelle was originally Chevrolet's response to the demand for the smaller-sized car market, which had been successfully tapped into by American Motor's Rambler. Riding on a 115-inch wheelbase, the Chevelle was based on a new A platform design, and became American's second best-selling car of its time. The 1972 Chevelles featured single-unit parking/side marker lights on their front fenders, outside of a revised twin-bar grille. Powered by a smooth running 454 CID and TH 350, this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle is a great classic to invest in as something to show off, as well as to use as your frequent driver. If someone pulls up next to your and revs up their engine to taunt you into a drag race, just lock in your seat-belt, put out your cigarette, rev your 454 back at them, and take your time driving home, because speed thrills, but kills. Now available at our Philadelphia showroom, Gateway Classic Cars is excited to offer this mean green machine, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS! Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible. This car is turn key and fire right up just ready to hit the streets. Nothing like the sound of a Chevy V8 engine and in a convertible to really make you enjoy a summer night cruise. The 1971 Chevelle was treated to new front-end and rear-end styling that included large Power-Beam single-unit headlights, a reworked grille and bumper, and integral park/signal/marker lights. New dual round taillights were integral with the back bumper. Because SS models suffered heavy insurance surcharges, Chevrolet introduced the "Heavy Chevy" at midyear, which was based on the base Chevelle, and was available with any V8 engine except the 454, which was exclusive to SS models. Chevrolet specifications for 1971 included both "gross" and "net" horsepower figures for all engines. The standard Chevelle SS engine was a two-barrel 350-cubic-inch V8 rated at 245 gross (165 net) horsepower. This stunning Chevelle does have the standard small block 350 Chevy engine that has been completely rebuild and runs great. It is paired to a smooth shifting 3 speed automatic transmission. The red paint on this car shines bright in the sun and has been redone to be in great condition. The black vinyl interior does not show its age due to it not having any rips or tears. This car even has upgraded sound system to a more modern stereo and speakers. The classic style is kept with the Cragar wheels and white letter BF Goodrich tires, it does have another set of rims that come with it as well. This car is set up with the R12 original A/C that still blows cool to this day. The power top makes an aggressive look go to a sporty convertible and even more fun drive in a matter of minutes. This car is perfect for any collection and could even be used as a daily driver. Everyone should enjoy dropping the top on a classic Chevelle and pushing the throttle down to feel the rush of American muscle. This beauty is not simply a driver, it would be at home at a car show, or as part of a Corvette club meet. The fourth generation or C4 Corvette debuted in 1984. It was slated for 1983, but part delays and quality issues resulted in only 43 prototype Corvettes being produced in 1983, which were never sold. The C4 was the first complete redesign for the Corvette since the C2 Corvette in 1963. New for the C4 were an all-aluminum suspension and aluminum brake calipers which provided rigidity and ample weight savings. As the years went by for the C4, design and styling cues got better and better. By 1993 the exterior and interior designs were set for the remainder of the C4 run, and the LT1 V8 engine was slated as the base engine as well. Only the ZR-1 and Grand Sport in 1996 options boasted a better performing engine choice going forward. Options for this 1995 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Removeable Targe Top, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Driver Seat, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Traction Control, Seat Belts, Driver/Passenger Airbag, Anti-Theft System, Leather Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. The exterior of this car is coated in a sharp coat of green paint Chevy called it "Polo Green". This Corvette stands apart from the crowd with its show condition and great color combination.
