Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a super cool 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer was in production under a three companies from the early 1960s to 1991. Jeep sold these from 1984 to 1991 as the Grand Wagoneer which is considered by some to be the first luxury SUV. The vehicle was initially referred to as a Wagon, hence the name, and was later referred to as a Sport Utility Vehicle. This particular Jeep comes from the final year of production and sports a rare color: Hunter Green. This green color with the iconic wood grain side trim makes for a very handsome machine. This particular example has a clean history and has had only two owners since new. The vehicle was purchased by its current owner in 1993 out of Oklahoma. From there it spent a lot of its life in Arizona before moving to Illinois in 2002. This history, in addition to being garages, contributes to the car being nice and rust free. The car has a 360 under the hood which is a remanufactured engine installed at roughly 121,000 miles. The odometer now shows just over 203,000 miles. It's amazing to think the miles that this machine has travel while still staying in such good shape. Clearly this vehicle was treated like a member of the family. The truck was repainted in 2003 in its factory color, but the interior and even the wood paneling is original. The Jeep has been regularly serviced and runs and drives great. If you're looking for a great vintage 4x4 with plenty of history, this Grand Wagoneer is for you. This classic design will never go out of style, and looks tough and edgy compared to today's boring SUVs. You can see this Jeep in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 618-271-3000 or stl@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

1981 Jeep CJ5

1981 Jeep CJ5

Engine: 268 CID I6
Transmission: 4- Speed Manual
Mileage: 5,000 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to offer this 1981 CJ-5 Jeep Renegade! This one is powered by a 268 CID I6 with a T176 4-speed transmission. It has an AMC 20 and 3:31 gears and has only covered about 5,000 miles since the build. The exterior is finished in black PMG paint with a tan vinyl interior. The build was performed by Houston Gear and the quality is excellent. This Jeep is outfitted with an AM/FM radio, manual convertible top, spare tire, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires, raised white letters and aluminum alloy wheels. The Willys CJ-5 (after 1964 Jeep CJ-5) was influenced by new corporate owner, Kaiser, and the Korean War M38A1 Jeep. It was intended to replace the CJ-3B, but that model continued in production. The CJ-5 repeated this pattern, continuing in production for three decades while three newer models appeared. "The CJ-5 has the distinct honor of being a vehicle that was hard to kill off... equaling the longest production run of note. From 1980 to 1983, the CJ-5 came standard with a "Hurricane"-branded version of the GM Iron Duke I4 with an SR4 close-ratio, four-speed manual transmission. The 258 cu in (4.2 L) AMC straight-6 engine remained available as an option, but the transmission was changed from the Tremec T-150 three-speed to a Tremec T-176 close-ratio four-speed. The Dana 30 front axle was retained, but the locking hubs were changed to a five-bolt retaining pattern versus the older six-bolt. The demise of the AMC CJ5 model has been attributed to a December 1980 60 Minutes segment where the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) staged a demonstration to illustrate that the CJ5 was apt to roll over "in routine road circumstances at relatively low speeds." Years later, it was revealed the testers only managed to achieve eight rollovers out of 435 runs through a corner. The IIHS requested the testers implement "vehicle loading" (hanging weights in the vehicle's corners inside the body, where they were not apparent to the camera) to generate worst-case conditions for stability Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars in Houston for more information. Financing and shipping options are available. Office hours are Monday through Saturday 9-5pm central time.
