The silver exterior paint is smooth and looks fantastic against the dark red cloth top. The red leather interior is soft and supple and is matched by the red carpet and custom floor mats very nicely. A Lokar shifter stands proud from the floorboard as it performs it’s duties of telling the transmission what to do. The dash is painted silver to match the exterior and features beautiful gauges that somehow look both modern and vintage at the same time, which is pretty darn cool. The odometer reads 4,586, which is believed to represent the miles on the build once it was complete. A full set of gauges (plus an added water temp gauge) helps the driver keep tabs on all of the car's vitals. The temperature stays steady thanks to the new closed cooling system with an electric fan. We are excited to offer for sale in our Saint Louis Showroom is a classic 1937 Ford Pheaton. This 37’ Pheaton is powered by a Flathead V8 engine, which is believed to be original to the car, as is the 3 speed manual transmission that transfers the power to the pavement. This 37’ Ford Pheaton is finished in a dark blue exterior paint. The saddle brown leather interior creates a wonderful color combination against the dark blue paint and light brown cloth convertible top. The odometer reads 17,947, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1937 Ford Pheaton include: AM Radio (inoperable), Manual Convertible Top, Leather Interior, Hub Caps, and Wide White Wall Radial Tires. The Phaeton body style differs from a convertible in that it does not have a winding or sliding windows in the doors nor does it have a permanent, fixed roof. Due to the lack of a rigid or fixed roof, the Phaeton was much lighter than a convertible. The Phaeton body style was faded out after the convertible style became much more popular with its ability to be driven in all types of weather. The last Phaeton to be mass produced by an American manufacturer was the 1948 Willys-Overland Jeepster. The body of this 36’ Ford is all steel except the rear fenders, which are fiberglass. The Autumn Copper is a Nissan color, it was applied in 2013, and it looks amazing, so rich and deep. The beautiful white leather interior also looks fantastic and is accented by the white steering wheel and column, and white faced AutoMeter gauges. To keep the dash and interior looking clean and age appropriate, the AM/FM head unit was mounted behind the driver’s seat. There is a remote that controls the radio, so you do not have to stop the car to change anything radio related, i.e. volume or radio station. Powering this awesome Ford is a 402 CID V8 engine with aluminum valve covers, a polished aluminum Edlebrock intake, and an Edelbrock carburetor. Headers flow from the engine to the FlowMaster mufflers combining for an excellent sound. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan helps keep this big block V8 cool on hot days, while the A/C keeps the passengers cool inside the cab. A TH-350 automatic transmission transfers the power to the 12-bolt rear end. For optimal steering and handling a Heidts Super Ride front end has been installed as well as power brakes, including disc up front. The odometer reads 4,571, which represents the mileage put on the car since the build was complete. Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this excellent 1936 Ford Pheaton. By the mid-1930s, fully open cars, the roadsters and phaetons, were losing out to convertible coupes and convertible sedans with roll-up side windows. Some manufactures, like General Motors, cut back on open styles altogether. Ford, however, kept a full line in production into the late 1930s. Even though the 1935 Ford Convertible Sedan had proved popular and the ’36 model even more so, leading to a mid-year version with enclosed luggage compartment, phaetons continued to do well, nearly matching the convertible sedans in popularity. This car has a newer restoration and is presented in Washington Blue and Tan LeBaron Bonney interior. This attractive body type combined modern (for the period) styling and V-8 performance. The engine is a 239-cid flathead V-8 (4600 miles since rebuilt) that is matched to a three-speed manual transmission. The phaeton has long, trim lines and seats six adults comfortably. Options include LeBaron Bonny interior, greyhound hood ornament, spare tire, hub caps, seat belts, vinyl interior, kill switch, wide white walls, and bias ply tires. Ford V-8s of the 1930s have been perennial favorites. For sale in our Nashville show room is this very original 1938 Ford DeLuxe four door convertible! While the vast majority of automobiles built in the U.S. in the late 1930s had closed bodies, open cars still carried an aura of luxury and exclusivity. Even Ford, which perfected mass production, introduced a new open car that combined the best features of a closed body, a cabriolet, and a four-door sedan into one single design. Offered only in DeLuxe trim, the distinctive Convertible Sedan drew many prospective buyers into Ford showrooms. This example came from a car museum in the Southeast and left the factory with nearly every one of the 20+ factory options for the year and model. These included deluxe hubcaps, deluxe wheels, cigarette lighter, side mirrors, dash clock, bumper guards, glove box, and many more! This car came with an 85 bhp, 221 cu. in. V-8 engine with a two-barrel Stromberg carburetor, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle with transverse leaf spring, semi-floating rear axle with transverse leaf spring , and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. The car has been outfitted with a few newer parts to improve drivability and safety. The upgrades include a new griffin radiator to handle the rigors of modern driving, new distributor and coil, new battery, and an alternator conversion. It’s not everyday that Gateway Classic Cars is given the pleasure to offer a vehicle that was built, documented, and owned by the same individual. What you see here is fantastic mix of 50’s east coast, patina rod, and rat rod stylings that took over 3 years to complete. This 1936 Ford Pickup is the final build of a man’s 45 year legacy of constructing custom rods. The build began with a fully customized frame. The rear is “Z’ed” approximately 10” to make way for a truly sinister stance. Unlike other rat rods, the ’36 Ford truck cab was lovingly restored, channeled 4”, and all cancerous rust was removed and replaced with new metal before being finished in Flat Black. The powertrain boasts an ever-popular and rebuilt/resealed 300 hp Chevy 350 small block pushing 9:1 compression which calls for 87 octane fuel. Lake-style headers provide the driver with an aggressive exhaust note. Behind the mildly-cammed Chevy 350 sits a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission with shift kit, custom driveshaft, and Ford 9” posi rear end with coilovers. The front suspension has been donned with manual rack and pinion steering, period-correct drop axle, and leaf spring. Manual disc brakes from an Impala with new stainless steel lines are utilized up front, while the rear is capped with drums. All gauges are in working order. The 14 gallon fuel cell will provide this build with a longer journey capacity than most custom rods. The car is correctly titled as a 1936 Ford, which can sometimes prove difficult depending on which state you seek approval, and the VIN is stamped both in the frame and firewall. Simply put, you can NOT put a custom rod like this together for even twice the modest sticker price. This ’36 Ford would be a fantastic initiation for anyone interested in entering the world of custom rodding, and all of the difficult work has been performed by a veteran and professional of the automotive business. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is an amazing 1937 Ford Roadster. Every item on this build was carefully planned out with purpose. Vibration cushions between the frame and body were installed to minimize vibration and noise and eliminated the need for a drive shaft tunnel. By eliminated the tunnel a lower seat height was achieved, which creates greater visibility for the driver and passenger through the windshield. Both the passenger compartment and trunk floors have been covered in Dynamat to reduce heat and reduce road noise. The powerplant comes from a 2009 5.3L Chevrolet LS V8 with an LS2 intake that has approximately 18,000 miles on it. The LS engine is mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission, which transfers the power to the Ford 8.8” rear end that houses 3.27 gears. This powertrain combination creates an excellent driving experience in any environment, while being incredibly reliable, and produces plenty of power to have fun with. An all new Mustang II front suspension setup is in place with powder coated upper and lower tubular control arms, new spindles, and power rack and pinion steering. The rear suspension features a triangulated 4-bar setup with TCI coil over shocks and springs. Power disc brakes adorn all four corners, providing maximum stopping power when needed. The gloss black exterior paint is a GM color by Dupont and looks fantastic. The light gold vinyl interior has a sleek and sophisticated appearance. The dash also features the vinyl upholstery and easy to read gauges in front of the steering wheel creating an uncluttered look. The odometer reads 312, which represents the mileage put on the car since the build was complete. The green body is accented with dark green fenders, that feature a bit of metallic flake throughout, and ghost flames on the front fenders stretching back. The steel wheels have been painted dark green and have chrome moon dish hub caps, completing the classic street rod look. On the inside you will find the door panels and rear seat are finished in dark green and tan vinyl upholstery. The front seat was swapped out at some point for late model gray cloth seats. A tilt steering wheel helps the easy in and easy out factor of this street rod, as it seems we are larger humans today, compared to 1931. Powering this 31’ Ford is a 350 CID Crate V8 engine with aluminum valve covers and an Edelbrock intake, carburetor, and air cleaner. A TH-350 automatic transmission with a Lokar shifter transfers the power to the Ford 9” rear end that houses 3.00 gears. Built with simplicity in mind, this 1950 Ford F-1 is equipped with only the essentials but did not have any expense spared during the process. The heart and soul of this pick up is a completely rebuilt 1950 Ford flathead V8 bored .60 over and roughly 1,500 miles since completion. The lope at idle provided by the Comp Cams Thumpr (#41-600-7) is the only music you will need on your ride and is very distinguishable sound. Also equipped is Offenhauser pistons, Mahle rings, Isky valve spring, and Ford rods, crank and block. Hooked up behind the flathead is a 3-speed manual transmission rebuilt at the same time as the engine and shifts smoothly between gears. The cab of the truck is still the 1950 Ford F-1 but has been heavily modified to give it the much sleeker look it has now. 6” of the top were sliced out to bring the profile lower and was moved 18” further back on the frame allowing it to run without fenders. The hood was custom built for this truck and transitions smoothly into the 1943 International fire truck grill. The bed was also built specially for this truck and matches the rest of the build very well. Slide inside the truck and you will wonder if it is even functional with how simplistic it is. The metal dash is smooth with only three gauges; Water temp left side, Oil pressure, Water temp right side. The custom bench seat sits low in the cab giving plenty of head room for all and a very comfortable driving position. All of the electronic connections have been mounted in a box behind the seat keeping the cab uncluttered and everything easily accessible. One cruise in this truck and you will be hooked! The ride is smooth and comfortable, the exhaust note will give you chills and surprisingly is not overbearingly loud and will turn heads everywhere it goes.
