Gateway Classic Cars Saint Louis Showroom is proud to offer this striking 1936 Ford Pickup that has been restored on top of a 1978 Malibu frame.
Ford did not start using the slogan, 'Built Ford Tough' until 1978, but you can't tell by looking at the body on this 1936 Pickup Truck. Ford began its truck program back in 1908 with the Ford Model TT evolving into some of the most recognizable and beloved trucks the auto community has seen. While the 1930s were a decade of financial strain due to The Great Depression, Ford experienced remarkable success with their durable and cost-efficent trucks outselling Chevrolet in 1935 by nearly 300,000 units! This 1936 Ford Pickup is one such example that survived through the years and has been restored beautifully.
This 1936 Ford Pickup Truck has been in the same family for nearly two decades and comes with new Brakes, Battery, Body Cover, and a Tool Box installed into bed. Speaking of the bed, a plywood has been professional installed into the floor of it, and is covered with a clear sheet of plastic to protect it. The body has been painted black and exudes a nice shine with the exclusion of any scratches or dents. Powering this restored classic is a 305 CID V8 with an automatic TH 350 transmission. Built on the frame and powertrain of a 1978 Chevrolet Malibu, allows it to have that classic look, but a smooth ride. Here is a truck that can win your a few shows and be used for work.

It’s not everyday that Gateway Classic Cars is given the pleasure to offer a vehicle that was built, documented, and owned by the same individual. What you see here is fantastic mix of 50’s east coast, patina rod, and rat rod stylings that took over 3 years to complete. This 1936 Ford Pickup is the final build of a man’s 45 year legacy of constructing custom rods. The build began with a fully customized frame. The rear is “Z’ed” approximately 10” to make way for a truly sinister stance. Unlike other rat rods, the ’36 Ford truck cab was lovingly restored, channeled 4”, and all cancerous rust was removed and replaced with new metal before being finished in Flat Black. The powertrain boasts an ever-popular and rebuilt/resealed 300 hp Chevy 350 small block pushing 9:1 compression which calls for 87 octane fuel. Lake-style headers provide the driver with an aggressive exhaust note. Behind the mildly-cammed Chevy 350 sits a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission with shift kit, custom driveshaft, and Ford 9” posi rear end with coilovers. The front suspension has been donned with manual rack and pinion steering, period-correct drop axle, and leaf spring. Manual disc brakes from an Impala with new stainless steel lines are utilized up front, while the rear is capped with drums. All gauges are in working order. The 14 gallon fuel cell will provide this build with a longer journey capacity than most custom rods. The car is correctly titled as a 1936 Ford, which can sometimes prove difficult depending on which state you seek approval, and the VIN is stamped both in the frame and firewall. Simply put, you can NOT put a custom rod like this together for even twice the modest sticker price. This ’36 Ford would be a fantastic initiation for anyone interested in entering the world of custom rodding, and all of the difficult work has been performed by a veteran and professional of the automotive business. For more information and to view dozens of HD pictures and a video of it running, please visit www.GATEWAYCLASSICCARS.com and dial (708) 444-4488.

Engine: 239 CID Flathead 8Transmission: 3 Speed ManualMileage: 4,600 ( since rebuilt )
Gateway Classic Cars is excited to offer this excellent 1936 Ford Pheaton. By the mid-1930s, fully open cars, the roadsters and phaetons, were losing out to convertible coupes and convertible sedans with roll-up side windows. Some manufactures, like General Motors, cut back on open styles altogether. Ford, however, kept a full line in production into the late 1930s. Even though the 1935 Ford Convertible Sedan had proved popular and the ’36 model even more so, leading to a mid-year version with enclosed luggage compartment, phaetons continued to do well, nearly matching the convertible sedans in popularity. This car has a newer restoration and is presented in Washington Blue and Tan LeBaron Bonney interior. This attractive body type combined modern (for the period) styling and V-8 performance. The engine is a 239-cid flathead V-8 (4600 miles since rebuilt) that is matched to a three-speed manual transmission. The phaeton has long, trim lines and seats six adults comfortably. Options include LeBaron Bonny interior, greyhound hood ornament, spare tire, hub caps, seat belts, vinyl interior, kill switch, wide white walls, and bias ply tires. Ford V-8s of the 1930s have been perennial favorites. Now for sale at our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom is this beautiful and mean supercharged pro-street 1954 Ford F100. The monster 468 CID V8 engine with its giant blower is neatly engineered to fit under the tilt hood, providing for a very inconspicuous look…if you can get around the flames on the hood, that is. The door handles have been shaved for a sleeker and more simplified look. The custom flame paint job on the truck looks great from any distance. Definitely a talking point from a cosmetic stand point. The truck has undergone many modifications, increasing power dramatically. However, components like suspension and brakes have not been overlooked. You will notice the beefy brakes (which stop the truck with excellent power) and the 4-link suspension setup. Even with the power level that this truck is at, it stays straight and true under heavy acceleration. The sound is amazing from this truck. The custom exhaust setup, along with the whine of the supercharger, definitely puts a big smile on your face. This truck is no slouch but it it’s a lot tamer than you may thing for road usage. The current owner has driven long distances with no fusses. The 3-speed transmission is geared so that you can cruise on the highway without overrevving the engine. Even with the modifications, the truck stays cool in the Texas heat. The wooden bed is in great condition and the custom vinyl interior is a comfy place to be. It even has power windows! Other upgrades include racing aluminum alloy wheels, posi-traction, tilt wheel and new Mickey Thompson tires. The Ford F-Series was redesigned by Ford for 1953 with a more integrated look. The pickups also obtained their widely familiar names: The F-1 now became the F-100, the F-2 and F-3 now became the F-250, and the F-4 now became the 1-ton F-350. Optional interior amenities were new, including a dome light, lighter, arm rests, sun visors and a radio. 1930 Ford Model A for sale in our Atlanta Showroom location is ready for its next owner. This beauty is painted in a mirror Black paint with red pin striping, red wire wheels with white walls. It looks fresh and runs just as good! The 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission still power this Model A down the road and a lot of new parts keep it running right. The consignor states the engine and transmission have under 300-miles since the rebuild, with a new starter and new alternator. Options aren’t limited on this beauty – that include cloth interior, wire wheels with hub caps, bias ply tires, radiator guard, dual side mounts, dual side mirrors, truck rack and trunk. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear-view mirror was optional. In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the exhaust manifold to provide heat to the cab. A small door provided adjustment of the amount of hot air entering the cab. The Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield. Almost 5 million Model A Fords were produced in 9 different body styles before it was replaced by the Ford Model B. For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 2-owner, super low mile 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible. The last year of the first-generation Mustang, 1973, saw several styling changes for the iconic pony car. The front bumper was enlarged to meet new NHTSA standards and was now urethane. The sport lamps were turned into turn signals since the new bumper covered the old turn signal location. A person could also order Mach 1 decals as part of the Exterior Decor Group option. This Mustang has been owned by the same individual for the last 20 years. He received it from his neighbor as a gift! I wish I had a neighbor like that. Powering this 73' Mustang is a 351 CID V8 engine, and a 3-speed automatic transmission transfers the power to the pavement. The engine and transmission are both believed to be original to the car. The odometer reads 32,486, which is believed to be the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Automatic Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Radial Tires. The red exterior paint was resprayed and looks great. The white vinyl interior is also in good condition and provides a great color combo with the red exterior. Classic hub caps adorn all four tires and provide a great look for this pony convertible. This is a great example of an early 70’s Mustang convertible in great color combination with very low miles.
