For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2, aka Fastback. This beautiful Ivy Green 4-speed car has recently undergone a detailed restoration. During the restoration the A code 289 engine was built to Hi Po (K-code) specs with the addition of roller rockers. Adding roller rockers to an already amazing engine is a recipe for further greatness. Backed up by a 4-speed manual just makes this car that much more fun! The Ivy green paint shines like new, the black vinyl interior also looks new and is very comfortable. Inside you'll also notice a set of Rally Pack gauges atop the steering column and a center console. The dash pad looks new and is free of any cracks or wrinkles as is the headliner that fits tightly. The gauge cluster has been swapped out for a '66 gauge cluster. Some prefer the circular gauges as opposed to the sweeping speedo from a '65. Adding to the exterior are White Mustang rocker panel stripes, Magnum 500 wheels, GT fog lights and GT trumpet exhaust tips. Other notable features are the front disc brakes and power steering that aids in easy maneuvering. A lot of these were equipped with four wheel drums which can be a bit frightening at times. This is a very well sorted '65 Fastback that is ready for some new adventures. For more information, call 618-271-3000 or swing by our St. Louis showroom. 1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: 200 CI Straight 6
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 13,915 ( undocumented )

Thank you for your interest in this sleek 1965 Ford Mustang located in our Tampa location. This car is a true piece of Ford history that simply turns heads anywhere it cruises by. The Twilight Turquoise green paint scheme with black vinyl top have made this car really stand out against other Mustangs in its class and is the way this car came from the factory when it was new. This rare 200 CI 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission have been completely rebuilt just under 11,000 miles ago. The 200 CI 6 is rated at 120 horse power but sure feels like more. Contrary to popular belief, the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang by enthusiasts, but for all intents and purposes, the cars are 1965 models on paper. The 1965 Mustang listed is built after the time line and is an actual 1965 with the 200 inline 6. This particular Mustang has been restored and redone about 7 years ago and has a 170 sticker on the air breather but it is in fact the 200 due to there being 5 freeze plugs in the block. It has recently had new tires and brakes put on it. The overall condition of the paint, interior, and engine in my opinion would rate as show quality. This car has many options like Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, black vinyl interior, and even white wall tires which makes the cars driving ability comfortable. If you are looking for the first classic car investment or even adding to one and need that super clean Mustang, this is the car for you. This 1965 Mustang is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information, please call our knowledgeable staff at (813)645-6200 or email us at Tampa@GatewayClassicCars.com. 1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: 289 V8

Mileage: 32,999 ( undocumented )

We have a beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang here in our Milwaukee showroom. It is coated in a beautiful White paint with blue interior. It features a 289ci V8 with air conditioning. This is an awesome car that runs great and looks fantastic! Several changes to the Mustang occurred at the start of the "normal" 1965 model year in August 1964, about four months after its introduction. These cars are known as "late 65's". The engine lineup was changed, with a 200 cu in (3.3 L) "T-code" engine that produced 120 hp (89 kW; 122 PS). Production of the Fairlane's "F-code" 260 cu in (4.3 L) engine ceased when the 1964 model year ended. It was replaced with a new 200 hp (150 kW) "C-code" 289 cu in (4.7 L) engine with a two-barrel carburetor as the base V8. An "A-code" 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) four-barrel carbureted version was next in line, followed by the unchanged "Hi-Po" "K-code" 271 hp (202 kW; 275 PS) 289. The DC electrical generator was replaced by a new AC alternator on all Fords (a way to distinguish a 1964 from a 1965 is to see if the alternator light on the dash says "GEN" or "ALT"). The Mustang GT version was introduced as the "GT Equipment Package" and included a V8 engine (most often the 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) 289), grille-mounted fog lamps, rocker panel stripes, and disc brakes. In the interior the GT option added a different instrument panel that included a speedometer, fuel gauge, temp. gauge, oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials (the gauges were not marked with numbers, however.) A four-barrel carbureted engine was now available with any body style. Additionally, reverse lights were an option added to the car from August 1964 production. The Mustang was originally available as either a hardtop or convertible, but during the car's early design phases a fastback model was strongly considered. In 1965, the Shelby Mustang was born, it was available only in newly introduced fastback body version with its swept-back rear glass and distinctive ventilation louvers. The standard interior features of the 1965 Mustang included adjustable driver and passenger bucket seats, an AM radio, and a floor mounted shifter in a variety of color options. Ford added additional interior options during the 1965 model year. The Interior Decor Group was popularly known as "Pony Interior" due to the addition of embossed running ponies on the seat fronts, and also included integral armrests, woodgrain appliqué accents, and a round gauge cluster that would replace the standard Falcon instrumentation. Also available were sun visors, a (mechanical) remote-operated mirror, a floor console, and a bench seat. Ford later offered an under-dash air-conditioning unit, and discontinued the vinyl with cloth insert seat option, offered only in early 1965 models. One option designed strictly for fun was the Rally-Pac. Introduced in 1963 after Ford's success at that year's Monte Carlo Rally and available on other Ford and Mercury compacts and intermediates, the Rally-Pac was a combination clock and tachometer mounted to the steering column. It was available as a factory ordered item for US$69.30. Installed by a dealer, the Rally-Pac cost US$75.95.A 14" rim option was available for Rally-pac and GT350R vehicles widening front and rear track to 57.5". Reproductions are presently available from any number of Mustang restoration parts sources. A compass, rear seat belts, A/C, and back-up lights were also optional. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1965 Ford Mustang in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 260 CID V8

This 1964.5 Ford Mustang is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. Lee Iacocca was Ford’s General Manager and the brains behind the Mustang. He titled the project T-5 and was originally supposed to be a 2-seat roadster but after being reminded of the baby birds dismal numbers they quickly reconsidered. With a new design commissioned the Mustang was born. Released in April of 1964 the first run Mustangs such as this one is called 64.5’s. Built on 4/23/64 this example has been meticulously maintained over the years and still has less than 100k original miles. The exterior has been repainted back to the original Wimbledon White using the correct lacquer paint which gives it that factory original look. The black vinyl top is original to the car and looks great for being 54 years old. Under the hood is the original 260 Challenger V8 that still runs like a top. With the generator still in place as well as the single master cylinder this exactly what should it be. The Cruise-o-Matic transmission is original to the car and shifts as it should. The interior is black vinyl with the center console being original to the car as well. The AM radio is also original to the car and is in working order if you can find an AM station still. Open the trunk and an original style speckled trunk mat is sure to catch your eye. The spare tire has no cover which is correct for the 64.5’s as well. With the car being owned by 2 individuals in the last 28 years and given its originality this one is sure to make any Mustang enthusiast a very happy person. Options on this 1964.5 Ford Mustang include, AM Radio, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Bias Ply Tires, Hubcaps, Vinyl Interior, and a Numbers Matching Engine. 1965 Ford Mustang Hi-Po

1965 Ford Mustang Hi-Po

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 44 ( undocumented )

The year is 1964, The World’s largest cheese is manufactured in Wisconsin for the New York World Fair, US President Lyndon B. Johnson signs Civil Rights Act & Voting Rights Act into law and this gorgeous 1964 ½ HiPo Mustang rolls into dealerships for the first time. Since then she has undergone a full meticulous restoration. Now with only 45 miles on her since the restoration was completed earlier this year. It is believed that only 90 ‘64 ½ HiPo’s coupes were ever produced. The Ford Mustang is an American car manufactured by Ford. It was originally based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car. The original 1962 Ford Mustang I two-seater concept car had evolved into the 1963 Mustang II four-seater concept car which Ford used to pretest how the public would take interest in the first production Mustang. The 1963 Mustang II concept car was designed with a variation of the production model's front and rear ends with a roof that was 2.7 inches shorter. Introduced early on April 17, 1964 (16 days after the Plymouth Barracuda), and thus dubbed as a "1964½" by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A. The Mustang has undergone several transformations to its current sixth generation. It's easily the best thing to come out of Dearborn since the 1932 V-8 Model B roadster. But for all Ford's talk of Total Performance, it's still clear that the Mustang has been designed and built to a price. The necessity of meeting cost goals meant that it had to share a maximum number of components with other models in the Ford line. Out of this situation sprang the advantage of an extremely wide availability of options for the Mustang, selected from the Falcon, Fairlane and Galaxie series. Briefly, it gives the customer a choice of four engines, three clutches, seven transmissions, two driveshafts, four brake systems, four wheel types and three wheel sizes, three suspension systems, and three steering systems. This seems slightly overwhelming until one remembers that only certain combinations are authorized, for either technical or commercial reasons. Lee Anthony Iacocca, vice president and general manager of Ford Division, sees the Mustang first as a family car, which meant that it had to have four seats, with better rear seat accommodation than is offered in the "two-plus-two" category. It's also aimed at a not-clearly-defined market consisting of customers looking for a not-clearly-defined combination of luxury and status. In addition to all this, the Mustang is intended as a sports car. Especially with the 271 HP V8 HiPo, backed by a 4 speed. You’ll feel like Capt. Stanley Tucker, driving this beauty down the road. Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is exited about this addition to our inventory. This is a 1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback A code, 289 4v. 4 speed car with AC. This is one cool car. The 65 GT package added many cool features to the Mustang. Rear trumpet exhaust coming thru the rear valance. Gt fender emblems replaced the running horse on the front fenders, and snake eye fog lamps found their way into the grill. There is a Gt emblem on the gas cap as well. This Mustang has a great exterior finished in Black with a Red interior. The front seats have been upgraded to a high back version of the originals and the windows have been upgraded to power. I know you see the cranks in the pictures, a simple touch on the crank and they go up or down very smoothly. It is very cool. The factory dash has had the original gauges removed and replaced by a modern system including a digital odometer. The rear seat is the factory fold down and the car also has a console. The wood steering wheel accents the interior and it is also equipped with tilt wheel. There is an updated AM FM stereo that has the vintage look in the dash. This Mustang GT is equipped with a 355 Turlock rear and coil over suspension up front. A set of American Racing Shelby Wheels rolls it down the highway in style. Front disc and rear drum brakes combine to stop this Mustang in a hurry. Make no doubt about it, this is a Mustang on the keepers list. .To view this 1965 Ford Mustang. in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ. The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando Florida is proud to present this sharp 1988 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. It is equipped with a 5.0 V8 and 5 Speed Manual transmission. This 1988 Mustang with only a little over 58K miles original miles in Beautiful Red and Silver exterior with red cloth interior is in great shape and completely original. The car is tight and drives great. The top is in great shape. The exhaust sounds great! Options on this car include air conditioning, AM/FM radio, spare tire, power top, custom alarm system, power brakes, power locks, power steering, power mirrors and synthetic leather sport seats. In 1987 Mustang received a facelift for both the interior and exterior. The 1988 Mustang was virtually unchanged. The exterior design was reminiscent of the earlier SVO and gave the car more of an "Aero" look, in keeping with Ford's overall styling direction. The interior received an all new dash, center console and revised seat and door trim. With the end of the 1986 SVO, the models were now pared down to LX and GT. Taillights on the LX were revised with clear lenses for the turn signals while the GT now wore a specific body-colored triple sectioned louvered treatment. The rear quarter glass windows lost their louvers and now sported a single larger flush piece of glass lettered with "Mustang" at the bottom rear corners. GTs featured new round fog lamps and gained aerodynamic lower bodyside skirting and new turbine style 15-inch (380 mm) wheels. Don’t miss out on this future classic. It won’t last long.
