The first generation C1 Corvette was built from 1953 through the 1962 model year. It is powered by a 283 CI small-block V8 with a 4-speed manual transmission. It has 300 miles on the newly rebuilt motor. It is equipped with a modern stereo (original clock and radio are included), wide white walls, a manual convertible top and a leather interior. Four taillights appeared on the 1961 model, a treatment that continues to this day. This was also the last year for the contrasting paint color in the cove areas. The ultimate development of Bill Mitchell and Zora Arkus-Duntov’s Sting Ray concept, the 1967 Corvette is a great choice for upgrading to modern powertrain, mechanicals and passenger accommodations. The final year of mid-year body styling was the least cluttered and arguably most attractive of all, one that seems to encourage builders to preserve its beauty and keep most, if not all, modifications under wraps. In this case the Sting Ray’s stock features are preserved, even to the point of using 1967 Silver Pearl paint and decorating the big-block hood with a contrasting black-Stinger accent. All the correct chrome and stainless trim has been preserved, including the classic Bowtie chromed driver’s mirror and factory-style side exhaust outlets. There is modern Corvette power under the power-actuated hood in the form of an all-aluminum GM Performance Parts LS3 V-8 engine. Rated at 430 HP in the 2008 to 2013 Corvette, this electronically fuel-injected powerplant has been tuned to crank a mighty 525 HP through a 5-speed automatic transmission to the C6 differential. A completely powder-coated, professionally fabricated custom steel-tube chassis enables the use of proven C6 front and C5 rear independent suspension with aluminum double wishbones (also powder-coated). This allows a wide choice of rolling stock; here it comprises chromed 18-inch front and 19-inch rear Aluminum wheels, shod with Toyo red-stripe tires, 275/35-19 rear and 235/40-18 front. Visible through the wheels are the red powder-coated 6-piston C6 Z06 calipers up front, and 4-piston rear Z06 binders out back, which clamp down on drilled and slotted rotors, guaranteeing rapid deceleration from hyperspeed. Inside, you'll see its spectacular distressed red leather interior, which features power windows, Vintage Air, custom red carpeting, Auto Meter gauges, bolstered seats, polished billet controls and a retro-look AM/FM radio with Bluetooth. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this unbelievably custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. The 55 Chevy Bel-Air is arguably one of the best-looking cars ever built. There clean lines and finless design make them great candidates for full on custom builds. Art Morrison started out building frames for tubbed out drag cars in the 70’s and 80’s but the company really took off when he began building his line of pro-touring chassis’. This 55 is sitting on one of his custom-built frames which not only looks good but increases the handling of the car dramatically. Finished off in the same Erica red paint as the body making the transition from floor pan to frame almost seamless. With touches of chrome here and there to break it up you can tell this was a well thought out build. The stance of the car was also dramatically changed due to the chassis as well with it sitting much lower than a stock 55. The wheels will be the next thing you notice with the set consisting of 18’s in the front and 20’s in the back giving the car that aggressive look. Behind those wheels are a set of chrome plated calipers that blend nicely while the cross-drilled and slotted rotors show people you mean business. Under that silky-smooth hood is was most consider the Mecca of LS powerplants. This LS7 has been built with a mild cam giving it a nice lope at idle but the real work is in the details. The intake has been painted to match with the custom firewall being cleaned up which flows into the custom inner fender wells. A custom piece of metal was formed to cover up the radiator as well making this engine bay look seamless like the rest of the car. Putting power to the road is a built 4l60 transmission giving you the capability to drive this beauty down the freeway comfortably at highway speeds. Inside the custom touches are extensive with the dash being made from one piece of metal as well. The gauges and AC vents are molded into that custom dash as well keeping with that flowing design. The leather wrapped seats are extremely comfortable while the Lokar shifter sits perfectly in the custom-made console. With this car being a fresh build and never shown to the public this beauty is guaranteed to collect a whole room of trophies or do what this car was intended to do Drive It! For sale in Dallas/Ft.Worth showroom is this 1981 Mercedes Benz-380SL. In 1980, Mercedes-Benz revamped its SL lineup of sporting luxury convertibles with the introduction of the 380SL. The 380 was an enhancement of the R107 chassis, which was first used in 1972 by the 350SL and then by the 450SL. This was an extremely popular model in the U.S. for its combination of V-8 power, refined luxury and sporty underneath carriage. The 380-SL was a lighter then its predecessor 450-SL, a 120 pounds lighter to be exact. Thus, it’s new V-8 3.8 liter engine was plenty of power for these vehicles. The new engine was designed with emissions controls in mind while the 450SL’s mill was not, which meant that the two engines were relatively equal in terms of power (155 hp in the 380SL vs. 160 hp in the 450SL) despite the difference in their displacements. Performance was similar for the two cars, as was fuel economy. This 1981 Mercedes Benz 380 SL has been family owned and passed down for over 25 years. All the paint has held up very well over the years. The interior is all original and pops with a bit of woodgrain installed in the dash. Another real stand out feature on this vehicle is those Dayton spoked wired wheels! Most certainly is going to catch anyone’s eye who sees them.
