Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. These awesome cars are starting to rise in value and popularity. A Camaro just like this one was just like this being featured in Season 2 of Stranger Things. This particular one is on the more rare as it came from the factory with the A/C DELETE Package and 4-Speed manual close-ratio transmission with Hurst shifter. The person who ordered this car new was obviously looking for speed and performance!
Under the hood of this bad boy sits a built-up 350 CID V8 with only 1,000 miles since rebuild. It was professionally rebuilt by Pilcher Racing in Alabama and was featured on their Facebook page during the build. The motor features a Comp Cams camshaft, QFC carburetor with electric choke and aluminum intake, Accel HEI distributor with all new plugs and wires, and a set of Hedman headers with an all-new big dual exhaust that really rumbles. The motor also features a chrome accessory kit to include air cleaner, valve covers, and dipstick. Inside the engine bay you will also find a new power steering pump and hoses, as well as a new master cylinder, brake booster, and all new brake lines. Under the car, new leaf springs and rear coil over shocks have been added making this car ride incredibly smooth, and extremely straight. That also helps keep the back tires from breaking loose so you can floor it and go!
The exterior of this Z28 is in terrific condition and features newer correct Dark Blue Metallic paint that has been polished to a brilliant shine. All the body panels are super straight and the trunk has all-new weather stripping on it. The amazing thing about this car is that it still features the ORIGINAL CLOTH INTERIOR that is still in outstanding condition. It is also equipped with an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player, power windows, and tilt steering wheel, which you don’t often find on these cars. Extra gauges have been cleverly hidden in the dash to keep a closer eye on temperature and oil pressure. The package shelf has been replaced with a brand new one.
So, just how rare is this Camaro? It is one of only 18,987 Camaro Z/28s built with a 4 speed, with 84,877 Camaro Z/28s in total. Out of the 282,571 Camaros built in 1979, only 61,509 were built with Factory A/C delete! Rarity is the number one thing that makes these cars go up in value, and this Camaro has it! The second most important thing is correctness, and this car has not been cut up or raced. It even sports its original color combination inside and out.
Whether you are looking for a daily driver, or a weekend cruiser – this Camaro Z28 will be a fantastic addition to a car collection of any size.

For sale in our Denver showroom is a 1982 red on red Chevrolet Corvette with T-Tops. This is a gorgeous all original C3 Corvette, with only 28,295 actual miles. The same year this Corvette rolled off the assembly line. Michael Jackson releases his album “Thriller” and Jordache Jeans are all the rage. The third generation Corvette, patterned after the Mako Shark II concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and was in production until 1982. C3 coupes featured the first use of T-top removable roof panels. It introduced monikers that were later revived, such as LT-1, ZR-1, Z07 and Collector Edition. This was also the first time that a Corvette was used as a Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500. This timeless classic is powered by a 350 CID Cross Fire V8, backed by a four-speed automatic. With factory A/C, red leather seats and steering wheel, and glass T-Tops. 1982 saw the debut of the “Cross-Fire Injection” fuel delivery system. This TBI (Throttle Body Fuel Injection) was not the type of fuel injection installed previously in some C1 and C2 Corvettes. It utilized two throttle bodies combined with Chevrolet’s computer control system. The engine produced 200 HP and was mated to a new four-speed automatic transmission with torque converters bypass in the top three gears. Compared to the previous Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed, the new 700-R4 transmission had a lower first and second gear for improved low-end acceleration, and a fourth gear overdrive that would reduce engine RPM by 30 percent at highway cruising speeds, resulting in better fuel economy. The final model C3 Corvette's published performance numbers were 0-60 in 7.9 seconds-the quarter-mile in 16.1 @ 85 mph. This was the last year for 8-track tape availability and new “cross-fire injection” emblems appeared on front fenders. Nose and fuel door crossed-flags emblems changed to a more squared design. You can view this 1982 Chevrolet Corvette in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a 2-owner, low mile 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. Chevrolet brought back the Impala SS nameplate in the mid 90’s, they were out to prove that there was still room for a four-door sedan with some power, and they did it with this! The 1994-1996 generation Impala SS was essentially a high-performance version of the caprice. The Impala SS actually used the Caprice 9C1 police package as its base and was produced with equipment formerly available only to law enforcement. This police package included equipment such as a sport-tuned suspension with reinforced shocks and springs, a high-capacity reverse-flow cooling system (derived from the Corvette's LT1), four-wheel disc brakes, transmission cooler, dual exhaust, a higher-output electrical system, and other minor mechanical alterations. This is a mean looking piece of 90's muscle decked out in maroon paint, grey leather interior, with just under 24,000 original miles. You don't have to sacrifice luxury with this car either, with leather interior and power options galore. The 350 CID LT1 that powers this Impala SS is the original engine and is mated to the original 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission. The 10-bolt rear end features a limited slip differential and 3.08 gear ratio. The odometer reads 23,613, which is the original mileage to the car. Options for this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette, Power Seats, Leather Interior, Tilt Wheel, Keyless Entry, Power Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Locks, Seat Belts, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. Chevrolet stepped out and did something not everyone did in the 90’s, create a rear sports sedan that driver’s could be proud of. To view this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis Showroom.
