1979 MG MGB

Engine: 4-Cyl
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 16,248 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a beautiful little 1979 MG B. MG produced Bs from 1962 all the way until 1980. There were subtle changes throughout the years, but the basic layout remained the same: a 4-cylinder engine up front, manual transmission in the middle, and power delivered to the rear wheels. These lightweight cars are popular with driving enthusiasts and even make great racecars. This particular example is finished in a snappy shade of bright orange which looks just as right on the car today as it did in ’79. The interior is very clean and features nice black vinyl upholstery and a simple dashboard with driver focused controls. Equipment is sparse, but you do get a stereo and full instrumentation. The convertible top and windows are operated the old-fashioned way which is all part of the fun of a car like this. Pop the hood and you’ll find a simple and reliable 4-cylinder engine. The engine compartment of this car is quite presentable and retains a fairly factory appearance. The shifter falls to hand perfectly and the car rows through the gears wonderfully. Whether you plan on blasting the backroads, hopping on the track for a vintage racing experience, or simple cruising around town, the MG B is a wonderful car to handle the task. What a wonderful way to enter the classic car hobby! You can see this lovely 1979 MG B in greater detail in our Chicago showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. The Louisville Showroom is proud to present this awesome 1977 MG MGB for sale. In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's. 1950 MG TD

1950 MG TD

Engine: 4 Cylinder OHV
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 4,899 ( undocumented )

Now available in our DFW-Showroom is this splendid 1950 MG TD. MG’s TC roadster sold well initially and proved American demand for an English sports car, but the car’s right-hand-drive configuration and 1930s specifications meant it was ripe for a redesign by 1950. In response, Syd Enever and Alec Hounslow took two weeks in 1949 to strip a four-seat Y-Type Tourer and shorten the chassis five inches. Just like that, the MG TD roadster was born. The TD also carried a few modifications aimed at the U.S. market. Specifically, left-hand drive was offered, along with rack-and-pinion steering, smaller, 15-inch steel disc wheels (no wire wheels were offered), and larger bumpers. In turn, the car was wider and 200 pounds heavier than the TC. Keeping with its predecessor, the TD’s weather protection was minimal. This MG TD was fully restored in 2009 by K&C Seippel, (marked by the brass plaque on the firewall). After that, the fuel tank was cleaned and sealed around 2012. It also received a new coil and master cylinder in 2012. This vehicle has won multiple awards at different car-shows over the years and even have the plaques in the glove-box to prove it. This unique ride certainly stands out in a crowd and is a great conversation starter, don’t let this opportunity pass you by. To view this vehicle in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and videos, visit our website at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1964 MG MGB

1964 MG MGB

Engine: 4 Cylinder
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual w/ Overdrive
Mileage: 1,600 ( since rebuilt )

With only 1,600 miles on a freshly rebuilt drivetrain and a stack of receipts detailing the rebuild and restoration, this 1964 MG B is one of the nicest examples left! The stock 1.8L inline 4-cylinder and 4-speed manual transmission have been professionally rebuilt and fires right up. The stock 91 horsepower in this car was enough to get this little British roadster up to a top speed of 103mph and handles exceptionally well! Something else very unique to this car is that 3rd gear as well as 4th gear have an overdrive option that will help keep your rpm's lower no matter what speed. The recently reupholstered black interior looks great and will keep you comfortable on the longer drives. The black interior compliments the stunning red exterior well and will turn heads where ever it goes. As you slide in, fire it up and start to cruise you will be amazed at how capable this car feels. The low stance and light weight allow it to dart around easily but is not so rigid that it is a rough ride. If you are looking for a fun roadster that you can take out on a long weekend cruise or just down to the local car show, this MG B is an excellent option for you! A great deal of time and money has been put into this MG to get it ready for the next owner. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1964 MG B in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.
