1983 Mazda RX7 GSL

Engine: 1.2L 12A Rotary 4BL
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Mileage: 46011 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer a super clean 1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL. When talking about Japanese sports car, it's impossible not to mention the RX-7. Mazda first offered the car in 1978 with a revolutionary engine. The Wankel rotary was an engine which defied the norm with its design. The engine has no pistons, but rather a triangular rotor which rotates around the combustion chamber. The result is a much smaller displacement than the typical piston engine. This RX-7 sports a 1,146cc 12A rotary engine. This engine produced just over 100 horsepower, but was lightweight which allowed the car to have an incredibly balanced 50/50 weight distribution. The entire car was under 2,500 pounds, so there's no doubt why they handle on rails. This particular example is a well maintained 46,010 mile car which is a total survivor. This car comes complete all maintence records since new, including dealer delivery info, and the window sticker. With only two owners and a clean history, this is one for a collector. The color scheme is an attractive dark silver over red cloth interior which is rather fetching. In case you forgot you were in a sports car, the dash features a large center mounted tachometer and the console houses the 5 speed manual transmission shifter. Backing the 5 speed manual transmission is a limited slip differential. This is a true sports car which will continue to appreciate in value. You can see this 1983 Mazda RX-7 in greater detail in our Dallas showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 817-310-9400 or dallas@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

1985 Mazda RX7 13B

Engine: 1.3L R F
Transmission: Five Speed Manual
Mileage: 92293 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. Mazda first offered the revolutionary ‘Wankel’ rotary engine powering this RX-7 in 1978. The engine defied the norm with its design by featuring a triangular rotor that revolves around the combustion chamber instead of the traditional pistons, resulting in a much smaller displacement. On top of this, the engine was so light and compact that it could be mounted behind the front axle and meant the RX-7 had a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Following the initial success of the 12A engine, Mazda introduced the slightly higher displacement 13B rotary engine with a larger output of 135hp that was exclusive to the GSL-SE in 1984/85. Paired to this peppy motor is a responsive 5-speed manual transmission and unique to the GSL-SE over base model RX-7’s is limited slip differential, larger brakes and distinctive wheels (the owner has stated he will include these original wheels with the sale). Our RX-7 for sale right now in our Scottsdale location is quite possibly the best example I have ever seen, and I grew up seeing these cars all over the place on the West Coast in the 1990’s! The car has been repainted in its original silver, it features a custom Kenwood stereo with oversized speakers behind the seats and all windows have been tinted meaning you will look extra cool driving this retro Japanese coupe! The Carfax shows that this car has spent its entire life in California and Arizona and has 92,293 original miles (mileage cannot be verified by GCC). The good news for perspective buyers of an RX-7 is that prices for these probable future collectibles remain affordable. Now is your chance to pick this usable, practical classic for a great deal!
