The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1990 Cadillac Allante for sale. This clean car fax Allante is a nice looking caddy. Cadillac had launched the front-drive Allante for the 1987 model year, to plenty of fanfare, as the company’s most expensive model. Body and interior design for Cadillac’s first 2-seat model was created by Pininfarina, in Italy, but the V8/automatic drivetrain was strictly American. Bodies were produced at a facility near Turin, Italy, then loaded onto special jet planes and flown to Detroit. Once there, driveline and underbody components were installed. Allante was a full convertible, with integral folding soft top and detachable aluminum hardtop. Aluminum was used for the hood and trunk lid while the unit body/frame structure employed galvanized steel. The Allante’s wheelbase measured 8.4 inches shorter than an Eldorado’s, but the 2-seater shared its basic fully independent suspension. An all-disc power brake system with Bosch antilocking was standard. By 1990, a 200-horsepower, 4.5-liter V8 was the motive source, also with automatic only. Traction control was new for 1990, using sensors for the antilock brakes to detect wheel slip during acceleration or steady cruising. When either front wheel began to slip, the system applied braking force to that wheel. If both front wheels were slipping, enough braking action was applied on both sides to optimize traction. A driver’s airbag went into the 1990 models, and electronically controlled shock absorbers were retuned to improve ride quality. The standard sound system now included both a cassette and a CD player. Primary rival was the Mercedes-Benz 560SL, also a 2-seater. Options include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio, CD player, power brakes, power steering, convertible top, cruise control, lumbar support, power windows, power mirrors, traction control, anti-lock brakes, power seats, anti-theft system, white walls, tilt wheel, leather interior, radial tires, aluminum alloy wheels. Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to make this beautiful 1992 Cadillac Allante available for sale in our Arizona showroom. These gorgeous cars were originally conceptualized as direct competitors for all of the European imports that were in the marketplace at that time. The bodies were all built in Italy by Pininfarina throughout the entire production run from 1987 to 1993. Just over 21,000 were final assembled in the US after the bodies were imported in specially-designed Boeing 747s.By the time this strikingly elegant car was built, Cadillac was using the 4.5L V8 engine that cranked out 200 HP. All used the four speed automatic transmissions, which is exactly what this car has. Brand new, these essentially hand-built luxury sports cars in convertible-only form retailed for $58,470! Add in the low production color on this one of Pearl White (YL3) where only 443 cars were built at an extra cost of $700 and you have one really rare convertible! The tan leather interior is like new, inviting a driver and passenger to experience the drive that one can only get from a Cadillac - "The Standard of the World".This beauty has had only 82K miles put on it in the past quarter century (not verifiable from GCC) and has had all necessary service work done at the factory-specified intervals. The current owner acquired this Caddy in 1995 and has lovingly pampered it just like the original owner did. Everything works flawlessly and as designed. He's even including a tonneau cover and a car cover for the next owner. Will that be you? Introduced in early 1992 for the 1993 model year, the Allanté was scaled down to just one model this year, the soft-top convertible. The removable aluminum hardtop was now a separate option, as well as the LCD digital instrument cluster in place of the standard analog instruments. The pearl coat paint option in Flax shines just as great as the day it was new. For its final model year, Allanté received the 4.6 L NorthstarDOHC V8 engine. It was rated at 295 hp at 5600 rpm. Torque output was 290 ft·lb at 4400 rpm. A new unequal-length control arm rear suspension, shared with the Seville and Eldorado, was also introduced this year. Also new for the small Cadillacs was Road Sensing Suspension, an active damper management system, and revised disc brakes. The 1993 model used GM's Delco "Premium Symphony Sound System". Other changes for the Allanté included a revised variable-assist power steering rack, deeper front spoiler, and single-piece side windows, which did away with the stationary forward vent window.
