1968 Ford Torino GT

Engine: 302ci
Transmission: 3 Speed Auto
Mileage: 79196 ( undocumented )

The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1968 Ford Torino GT. This SportsRoof 302 Torino has a 3-speed automatic transmission and an original feel. In 1968 Ford Motor Company introduced its intermediate line with a new body and new styling. Along with the new body and styling came a new subseries in the Fairlane line, the Torino. Styling was all new for the 1968 Fairlane/Torino, and it was drastically changed from the 1967 models. The new intermediate had grown in size and weight, and a new fastback model was added. The front fascia featured a full width recessed grille, with horizontal quad headlights placed at the outer edges. Horizontal dividing bars were featured in the grille depending on the model. Parking lights were placed at the outer edge of the front fenders and wrapped around the corner to also act as side marker lights (a new requirement in 1968). The body sides were smooth with one horizontal body crease running just below the beltline from front to back. The taillights were rectangular in shape and vertically situated in the rear panel above rear bumper. Reverse lights were located in the middle of the taillights, and small side marker lights were located on the rear edge of the quarter panel. Fastback models, which Ford called "SportsRoof," featured a slightly concaved rear taillight panel unique to that body style. The new SportsRoof body style featured a gently sloped long roof line that extended to the edge of the trunk lid. This new fastback body style gave the Fairlane and the Torino excellent aerodynamics that would later prove to be advantageous on the race track. Options include: AC, Hub caps, radial tires, seat belts, and vinyl interior. 1970 Ford Torino

Engine: 460 CID V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 48308 ( undocumented )

The Ford Torino was produced between 1968-1976 and most remembered for the red/white 1975 “Starsky & Hutch” special and several NASCAR racing adaptations. The car was named after the city of Turin, Italy (pronounced “Torino” in Italian) considered the Detroit equivalent in Italy. The Torino Cobra, fitted with a 429cid (7.0 L) “Cobra-Jet” engine was the no-nonsense pure performance model. While the Torino GT was trimmed with a non-functional hood scoop, the 1970 429 Cobra featured a real version attached to the air cleaner assembly that protruded through a hole in the hood. This became known as a “shaker” due the fact that it vibrated when the engine was running. The 429 CJ is rated at 370 hp and includes a 2-bolt main block and hydraulic lifters. This Marti documented, 1970 stunner has a 1971 replacement engine mated to the original 3.91 Traction-Lok differential and four-speed close-ratio manual transmission. The ginger interior offsets the frame-off restored red exterior nicely. The car rolled off the assembly line on January 22, 1970 in Dark Ivy Green Metallic paired with the same ginger interior. Additional features include power front disc brakes, AM Radio, color keyed racing mirrors and tachometer. This incredible 1970 Ford Cobra Sport Roof is in is located at our Milwaukee showroom. 1970 Ford Torino GT

Engine: 429 Super Cobra Jet
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 89533 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1970 Ford Torino GT 429 SCJ “Drag Pack”. The 1970 Torino was the primary model with the Fairlane becoming a sub-series. The big news though that year was the 429 Super Cobra Jet. Ford had been putting Thunder Jet 429’s in their T-bird lineup for a few years but 1970 would unleash these monsters in two different trims with Super Cobra Jet being the one that you really wanted. This is example has gone through a pain staking frame off restoration completed in 2015 and is probably nicer than when she left the factory. The correct grabber blue paint is amazing and is guaranteed to catch everyone’s eye. The GT package gave this Torino those awesome hideaway headlights which work. With all the trim on the car in excellent condition this truly is one of the finest examples of a Torino GT I have seen. The shaker hood is not only functional but the look you get when you drop a gear and the person sees that coming is worth the price of the car itself. Under the hood though is where all the joking around stops and the genuine business begins. The monstorous 429 SCJ looks like it fits right at home underneath that shaker hood. The chrome valve covers against the blue painted block is exactly the way it should be. The forged pistons and solid lifter cam are not the only things that make this a Super Cobra Jet. The bigger 780 CFM Holley feeds plenty of fuel to the freshly built engine giving this DRAG PACK equipped Torino an absolute ton of power. The factory oil cooler keeps this big block running in tip top shape. The 3.91 “Traction Locked” rear end give this blue beast a decent mix of off the line acceleration while having a fair amount of top end speed. The Black interior is just as nice as the exterior with the 4-speed shifter placed perfectly with in arms reach. The correct seats are comfortable and what you would expect in a SCJ Torino. With all the gauges working as they should this SCJ Torino can be summed up in one word, AMAZING! Options on this 1970 Ford Torino GT 429 SCJ Drag Pack car are, AM Radio, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Rally Wheels with Radial Tires. This 1970 Ford Torino GT 429 SCJ Drag Pack is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at For additional information please call our knowledgeable staff at (812)294-1555 or email us at If you would like to see it in person, come to our Louisville Showroom located at 13576 Blue Lick Rd., Memphis, IN 47143.
