1976 Pontiac Trans Am

1976 Pontiac Trans Am

Engine: 455 CID H.O V8
Transmission: T-10 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 57,461 ( actual )

For sale in the Nashville show room is a red hot 1976 Pontiac Trans Am, powering this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am for sale is a 455CID V8 that is tossing power to the ground like beads at a New Orleans festival. Backing this 455Cid V8 is a four speed Manual transmission. This car is the sheer embodiment of 70’s muscle cars with a rumble that and growl that’s fit for a dragstrip and rocket ship, power at the tip of your toes and a force at your fingertip. The exterior color is the famous Buccaneer red that has the classic Trans Am logo across the hood. If you’re over 40 you’ll have a profound appreciation for its look of brute strength and power. If you’re looking to help the world, save emissions and are looking to save the ozone layer this powerful beast of a machine just might be for you! Because you can out run any Prius chasing you. Returning for what was to be its final season (again?) was the optional 455 V8, still labeled in H.O. guise. Once again, the 455 was packaged, including the confidence inducing semi-metallic front brake pads. As a 4-speed manual was still the required transmission with the big motor, California cars were not allowed this combination (nor any other 4-speeds, for that matter). The single exhaust system was unchanged from 1975 and exited through dual tail pipes with chrome splitters. The rear bumper was also covered in a soft urethane with a depression in the center, eliminating the false bumper bar. This theme made the Trans Am a much more complete looking car. The tail lamps were still of body color and stretched from the corner of the rear end to the license plate recess. With all the muscle cars available to you the Trans Am is as American as apple pie and “Sweet Home Alabama.” Features on this 1976 Pontiac Trans Am for sale include: air conditioning, am/fm radio, power steering, Power brakes, horse power, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires that are wrapping rally wheels to boot and much more. 1979 Pontiac Trans Am

1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Engine: 6.6 Liter V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 42,269 ( undocumented )

“Hero Car” is a term in the classic car enthusiasts world that denotes a vehicle of extreme desire and reverence; a bonafide statement of steel, heritage, and classic styling. Our newest arrival at the Gateway Classic Cars showroom in St. Louis, MO, has certainly earned the rights to this esteemed moniker. The 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6, iconically donned in Starlight Black with gold embleming, was, and still is, the definition of “ Bitchin’ ”. The 2nd generation of GM/Pontiac’s F-Body vehicles hosted an array of impressive body lines, eye-opening powertrain, and new options for over a decade (1970-1981), and this specific arrival is a shining example of why the 2nd generation held such a lengthy tenure. This high-option Trans Am has been lovingly cared for and maintained, boasting a 6.6 litre 403 CID 4 BBL V8 and 3-Speed automatic transmission. A quick decoding of the VIN will lead its next satisfied caretaker on a journey through its production, which took place in the Van Nuys, California plant. From thereon, she was shipped for initial sale to Miller Pontiac-GMC in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Once parked and displayed, it wouldn’t be long before this bird found a new cage to break through. This Trans Am stands aggressively confident in its originality with a mere 42,269 miles. Mild restoration is suspected to have taken place throughout the years, but only with undying respect for maintaining the Pontiac patrimony. The engine bay, trunk, and undercarriage are all rock-solid, flat black, and free of unsightly rust - an absolute rarity for a Midwestern car. The traditional Firebird graphics and decals, unlike many other ever-peeling examples on the market, were done professionally and with respect to original placement and quality. Opening the door to this sought-after carriage will display a world of options to the trained Trans Am expert. Brushed aluminum rally gauge panel, custom Hobnail bucket seats, and tilt steering wheel make up just a few of the vehicle’s adornments. Further inspection will reveal modernization in the form of a USB/CD-compatible Kenwood head unit, allowing the driver to revel in glory to the sounds of his/her favorite tracks alongside the throaty v8 exhaust note. An NOS spare tire awaits use in the trunk, while the cherished 15x8” Gold Honeycomb rally wheels motivate the vehicle. Additionally, power steering and power brakes are utilized for this build. All glass is in excellent condition. The previous owners have taken it upon themselves to acquire proper and frame-worthy PHS Documentation, as a respectful nod to the excitement that one, possibly you, would and will feel when selecting this commanding example of Pontiac’s brainchild. Idle hands on this offering will pose a dire threat to making her your next addition to the family. Engine: Pontiac 400 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 5,673 ( actual )

Looking to expand its clientele, Pontiac decided to up the ante a bit by offering an F-Body with an optional Trans Am Performance and Appearance Package.By 1969 the Pontiac Firebird was a mere two years old and had debuted to moderate success. Ten years later the Trans Am had a large fan base. To commemorate that ten-year anniversary, Pontiac decided to offer its first Special Anniversary Trans Am. And when it was all said and done, they had assembled 7,500 of what fans call 'the silver car'. Of those 7,500 Tenth Anniversary Editions, only 1,817 had the L78 6.6L 400ci V8 and the Borg Warner T-10 4-speed. Today this silver Screamin' Chicken sits a true survivor with only 5,674 actual miles registering on its odometer. You would never guess that this Firebird is nearly 40 years old. The body looks absolutely stunning and is covered in the original two-tone paint. At the front of the body is a special massive screaming chicken decal that rests on the hood. Above the decal is the shaker hood that has the lettering T/A 6.6 on either side. On the roof you will find correct, mirrored T-tops. At the back of the car is a slick rear spoiler and more Trans Am badging. Pop the hood on this Firebird and you'll be greeted by an original L78 6.6L 400ci V8. Due to emission standards, 1979 was the final year that Pontiac offered all of its larger displacement engines. Bolted to the 400 cubic inch Pontiac V8 is the original 4-speed Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission, which sends power to a 3.23 Posi-traction rear end. Spent gases travel down the original headers to and out the original dual exhaust. Power 4-wheel disc brakes are responsible for slowing the Firebird, while the entire car rides on special 15x8 cast aluminum wheels that have been wrapped in Goodyear Polysteel Radials. Open the door to this Trans Am and you'll find a very well preserved silver leather interior that features firm bucket seats. This is where you'll also see the odometer that reads 5,675 miles. With only 10,000 miles on a rebuilt and blueprinted 455 cubic inch V8, a four-speed manual transmission, and 3.73:1 gears, this Trans Am means business! You may have seen it featured on Pinks All Out a few years back and has since been treated to this stunning twisted copper colored 3M wrap that helps this car to stand out from the crowd. The 1979 Pontiac Trans Am has become an American icon with its timeless design and quality. This Trans Am specifically has taken the traits of the original and amplified them to make it even better! Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this bad-to-the-bone 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. This disco-era muscle car has been completely re-worked from how it arrived at the Arizona Pontiac dealer that sold it to its first owner nearly 40 years ago. From the mile-deep black paint to the custom aluminum wheels, this car looks fast even when it's sitting still. Engine: 301 V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Auto
Mileage: 11,451 ( actual )

The Second-generation Pontiac Firebird Trams Am features some of the most beloved and iconic models produced including the rare 1970 ½ Ram Air III, the black & gold 1977 Smokey & the Bandit Special Edition and the 1979 10th Anniversary Edition. During the last two years of its run, Pontiac offered a special engine and appearance package known as the “Turbo Trans Am”. Due to the increasing emissions restrictions, Pontiac dropped all its large displacement engines, including the venerable 400cid V8 following the 1979 model year. Along with a conventional 305 cid small-block V8, Pontiac offered the first forced induction production engine, a turbo charged 301 V8 in 1980-81. The 4.9L Turbo was unique in that it had a stronger block with thicker cylinder walls and a lower compression ratio given the increased pressure created by the turbo system. Also included were newly developed internals including forged pistons, high pressure oil pump, a roller fillet crankshaft with 2 counterbalances, fully baffled oil pan and turbo specific exhaust manifolds. The 301 Turbo was officially factory rated at 210hp and 345 lb.ft of torque and mated to a TH350 automatic transmission and 3.08 posi rear end. In 1980, Johnny Rutherford won his 3rd Indianapolis 500, a race that featured the 1980 Turbo Trans Am as the Official Pace Car. This beautiful limited-edition model shows its original White/Oyster exterior and interior finishes and the owner states 11,451 original miles! The numbers matching vehicle includes T Tops, AM/FM Stereo Cassette, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes and ice-cold AC. The Trans Am GTA was Pontiacs pride and joy of the late 80's. This was mostly due to the fact that Pontiac dropped under the hood of this one 5.7L 350 Tuned Port Injection. This stunning example has only 13,346 original miles! This one like most is paint in a bold Pontiac Red paint job with body colored body effects and GTA bagging. 1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6

1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6

Engine: 5.7L V8 FI OHV
Transmission: 4L60E 4-speed auto w/OD
Mileage: 23,017 ( actual )

Now available at our Houston showroom is this 1996 Trans Am WS6! **This car comes with a transferrable warranty through Warranty Direct until June 2018** “You had me at hello.” was the movie line of 1996 in Jerry Maquire and “totally” applies to this time capsule 1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 Ram Air Performance Package. With only 23,017 miles and limited production numbers of only 2105 makes this pretty beast of a Pontiac pretty rare. But let’s forget the rarity of the car for a moment and the fact that the manufacturer doesn’t even exist any longer – and let’s talk about what is sitting outside. The curvy and seductive lines are classic Pontiac. Stance is low and daring, European but with American muscle. A view from the nose can only be described as menacing. The Fire Hawk inspired duel snorkel hood is only accented by what clearly looks like airplane landing lights nestled front and center. Closer inspection reveals ‘Ram Air’ inscription placed curiously non intrusive in matching body color lettering. In fact all lettering, Pontiac, Trans Am and Ram Air are all body color matching in Arctic White and blend right in with a 3d effect, until you reach the rear. There is no doubt this sexy beast wants you to know it is WS6 Performance Package, blazingly displayed in a red and gold emblem. Yes, you’re looking at a car that can do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of about 160mph and that’s stock – from 20 years ago! The mighty LT1 5.7 Liter 350 Cubic Inch V8 with new this year less restrictive exhaust system incorporating duel cats instead of the previous single canister. With the Pontiac Only Ram Air option horsepower muscled out another 20 horses to a venomous 305 HP and 335 pounds of torque, proud numbers even in today’s environment. The 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission shifts and handles the performance as it should. The only way to get the Ram Air engine was to order the Ram Air WS6 Performance and Handling Package, a $4,000 increase over the Firebird price. Both of these names were synonyms with Pontiac Performance from years past but not recently used. The WS6 meant stiffer suspension, steering and four wheel disc brakes that made the Trans Ams of the 70’s America’s best handling car of its time. This 1996 Trans Am exceeds all expectations with stiffer tubular front anti-roll bar, higher –rate springs, firmer transmission mount and Panhard-rod bushings with appropriate tuned shocks. The Ram Air Trans Am wasn’t seen since the 60’s. Borrowing right from the SLP Firehawk a set of 17x9 wheels wrapped in 275/40ZR17 Goodyear GS-C rubber added to top flight handling. It’s also the first year an F-body was fitted with 17” rims. The American Muscle car with European handling complete with air bags, anti lock brakes, AM/FM and CD player stereo with equalizer. Lumbar support- power seats, power door locks, power windows, tilt wheel, keyless entry, anti-theft system and T-TOPS! So, we know it’s fast, looks cool, will be a blast to drive and be seen in. With just a hair over 23,000 miles this could be your everyday driver for years at well under the cost of a new Hyundai. Or it’s the weekend cruiser, knowing the value of the no longer produced Trans Am is only increasing. Or do both, just make sure when you see other Trans Am owners you say ‘hello’. To view this 1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 Performance Package in greater detail, including and HD video and HD pictures, please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or visit our Houston Showroom.
