1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Race Car

Engine: 540 CID Reher-Morrison V8
Transmission: BTE Powerglide
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to present this Jerry Bickel-built 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air race car. If you've always wanted a real race car that was built by one of the legends in NHRA racing, but you were afraid to ask, "how much?", we have the car for you. Originally brought to the track by Don Gray Trucking as the "Torture II", with its U.S. Body-supplied '55 Sedan Race Body Shell. Built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars, Inc. in 1995, this is one legend that has stood the test of time and looks better than it did when it was first completed. Smothered in a gorgeous Tangelo Pearl finish, with very subtle flame work that starts on the hood and continues down the front flanks, this is one sweet-looking hot ride. But don't let the looks fool you - this car is one thing, and that's "all business". Sporting a Reher-Morrison 540 CID big block Chevy V8 with its Williams Carburetors-built race carb, backed by a custom BTE Powerglide transmission, this car is set up to let you make fools out of your bracket racing competition. With an air throttle and throttle stop, you can run extremely consistent times. With its 2016 NHRA-certified chassis (s/n A071910) good for 7.50 and slower E/Ts, this car is virtually turn-key ready for the track. From the full tubular chassis and integrated roll cage, to a Dzus fastener-laden body and interior panels, you can tell that this car is built for the track. The snorkel scoop-laden front clip comes completely off, allowing for full access to everything in the engine bay. Whether you need access to steering componentry, the engine, or the front coil-over drag suspension, there's virtually nothing that needs working on that can't be accessed easily. The massive mill is braced by a torque plate at the front, enabling it to become an integral part of the fully reinforced tubular race chassis, with it multiple-link adjustable rear, ensuring that this beast stays straight and true from launch to run-out at the top. The electric water pump, massive aluminum radiator with electric fan, and trans cooler help ensure that everything stays within optimum operating temps during each run. Further equipped with Mark Williams Hi-Torque axles, Lamb multi-piece rotors and Lamb racing calipers, multi-piece Weld Drag wheels at all four corners, Hoosier skinnies up front, massive Hoosier wrinkle wall slicks out back, and wheelie bars, this car says, "get me to the track, baby!" from as far away as you can see it. Under the hood is that gigantic 540 CID Reher-Morrison big block Chevy V8, with its Williams Carburetors carb and custom-fabbed race headers. When this beast lights off, no one will be able to keep from snapping their head toward the noise to see what's causing the thunder. A full competition-approved fuel cell and the twin trunk-mounted Optima batteries are easy to get to by removing the Dzus-fastened trunk, and more Dzus fasteners allow easy access to key driveline components normally covered by the floor pan. A fully adjustable rear spoiler sits atop the aft edge of the deck lid and allows custom tuning of downforce (and therefore ETs). FYI, those dual Optima batteries help ensure that everyone can see your working HID headlights and taillights during those ultra-high-speed night racing runs (in addition to their normal duty, of course). Out back, a purpose-built Mark Williams complete 3rd member setup serves as part of a fully adjustable multi-link rear suspension, with Drag Coil-over shocks and wheelie bar, which serve to keep the rear end planted and the front end out of the sky at launch. Inside, the driver has all controls within easy reach, and fingertip controls make it easy, with the Jerry Bickel wiring setup and control panel being reachable even when the driver is fully belted into the Kirkey racing bucket with the massive Simpson race harness. This race car is ready to hit the strip with no excuses, and is ready for the pit crew between passes, with its abundant Dzus fasteners providing easy on/off of its front clip and trunk. A full set of gauges help the driver keep track of critical functions, and a removable steering wheel helps for easier ingress/egress before and after your hot passes. If you're looking for a turn-key 8 second drag car, this is the one you want. This is a race only vehicle and does not come with a title. 1947 Kurtis-Kraft Midget #18

Engine: 110 CID 4 CYL
Transmission: 2-Speed Manual
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this beautifully restored 1947 Kurtis-Kraft Midget #18. This car represents a great example of vintage post-war race car and would look great at any show. Powering this piece of history is a Offenhauser 110 CID DOHC 4-cylinder motor. This engine features Hilborn fuel injection which is said to be the first fuel injection system created and was desired by many racers of the era. Paired up with the engine is a 2-speed manual “in and out” transmission with your choice of either neutral or GO! The quick-change rear end made this car capable of interchangeable gearing for different racing needs to improve the odds of a win. To provide the stopping power of this beautiful beast is 4-wheel disk-brakes that sit behind 12” aluminum wheels with knock-offs. A complete tubed steel chassis and aluminum dash aided in the car being light weight improving its overall performance. The tires are Firestone 150-12 in the front and M&H Racemaster 150-12 and are in good condition. For what little interior the car has, it is in very good condition. The car features a black leather racing seat, with the convenience of the drive shaft running through your legs. The aluminum dash has machine turned and shows very well. It’s amazing to see what race cars of that era were like and to compare them with todays monstrous machines. This car would make for a great show piece in anyone’s home or museum, possibly even be taken to your local track permitting it meets the requirements. 1966 Ford Mustang

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 42,171 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this classic 1966 Ford Mustang. Slathered in a rich cloak of metallic burgundy, and touting a new black vinyl top, this is one very elegant Pony. Get behind the wheel of this Mustang and you'll fall in love immediately. The car came off the assembly line with the highly sought out A code. Powering this peppy stallion is a freshly rebuilt 289 CID V8, that's topped by a 4BBL carburetor and a set of finned aluminum valve covers. Transferring the stout 289's power to the 9-inch rear end is a rebuilt C4 Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Toss in cold A/C and power steering, and this Mustang is ready for whatever trip you want to take it on, and when you reach your destination, you'll have arrived in comfort and style. Inside, its black Pony interior is gorgeous to look at, and a pleasure to ride in. The sporty buckets up front straddle the shifter and console nicely, while the bench out back begs you to have some friends tag along. What really sets this Mustang apart is the level of detail in the complete nut-and-bolt restoration, completed by Wagner's Classic Cars. With a stack of over 2 inches' worth of receipts for NOS 1066 Mustang parts, and a photo book of the restored project's outcome, you'll know you've found a 1966 Mustang that appears virtually new; and frankly, it's better than it was when it was new. Solid floorpans, new fuel tank, all new suspension (including bushings and all fittings), new front end components, new rear leaf springs, it's virtually all been replaced underneath (and everywhere else, it appears). All of the sheet metal was stripped bare, prepped, and finished, and the attention to detail in the entire project is very evident. Upgrades to the original equipment include a full aluminized dual exhaust system that helps give it a great exhaust note while not being too loud, plus a 4-wheel disc brake package from SSBC. This car stops and goes better than any 1966 Mustang ever did when it was new! Additional options on this 1966 Ford Mustang for sale include Air Conditioning, AM radio, Power 4-wheel disc Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Synthetic Leather Pony Interior. 1987 Buick Regal Grand National
S O L D

1987 Buick Regal Grand National

Engine: 3.8L V6 F OHV
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 69,199 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this mean 1987 Buick Regal Grand National "GNX Tribute". The Regal Turbo was a popular street beast of the late 80’s, with only around 7900 produced and was the intro to the GNX series that came about with its limited production of 547 built. This Regal is a full-on tribute to the GNX, and mechanically serves it justice. Powering this machine is a custom-built 3.8L V6, built by Weber Power Products, paired to a pro-built 200R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a 2800RPM Stall, built by Ted's Transmissions. The engine features a set of Champion Racing heads with 1.65-inch intake and exhaust (custom ported and assembled by Otto's Performance), Diamond Pistons, Forged Rods, Coated cam, rod, and main bearings, align honed block, reciprocating assembly balanced, all ARP fasteners, and it also sports Methanol Injection. Looking under the hood, you will find that the turbo features a larger heat shield to accommodate the much larger than stock turbo and exhaust, along with an adjustable boost popoff control. Properly tuned at 21 PSI, this mill put down 501RWHP and 480.7TQ at the wheels (Dyno sheets from PowerFab Autosports available). This Regal took the tribute to the next level by even having the upgraded GNX rear end, which was put only on GNXs, due to the high HP and TQ. This special ordered feature makes this Regal hard to separate it from a true GNX. Also included are new tubular upper front control arms, custom lower control arms, all new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and pitman arm. When you fire this turbo beast up, initially all you hear is that muffled Buick Turbo V6, with maybe just a little lope from its custom-ground cam; but otherwise, if you had your eyes closed, you wouldn't know what a nasty competitor this is. Depress the hidden switch for the electric exhaust cutouts, and things get interesting, with the addition of the crackle and pop that these mega-boosted Buick Turbos were famous for. When you're ready, lift up the B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter, pull back to drive, and ratchet back to first...get staged for your burnout, and watch those fat Hoosier Drag radials go up in smoke (and your friends can watch the car disappear in the cloud, too)! You'll know this isn't a regular Turbo Buick when you light it up. Outside, the gloss Lamp Black finish was applied to the exterior by Stroble&Twigg Auto Restoration, after removing all paint on exterior sheet metal to the bare metal, using a 2-stage Epoxy finish in the proper 19U GM paint code. Weather stripping and seals were all replaced at the time as well; so, this car is almost like new! The interior was also treated to the "replace everything to original" strategy, and is in very good condition, with a new headliner, new seats up front, new rear seat upholstery, new door panels, and new console. The gauge cluster is complete with a GNX repro Stewart-Warner GNX cluster, and the speedo has been calibrated for the new gauge cluster installation. Additional features include Air Conditioning, Antilock Power Brakes, Cruise Control, AM/FM/CD Radio, Performance Tires, Power Locks, Power Steering, Power Seats, Power Windows, and Seat Belts. 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 66,596 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this super clean 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT. For a little history on this generation of Broncos - the 1978-1979 Bronco is based on the Ford F-100 pickup truck (1973-1979 sixth generation). Alongside the shortened wheelbase of 104 inches, the major difference between the Bronco and F-100 is the Bronco's standard four-wheel-drive powertrain. This generation of the Bronco is fitted with part-time four-wheel drive and a New Process 205 gear-driven transfer case with the option of permanent four-wheel drive and a New Process 203 chain-driven transfer case. The 1978-1979 Bronco is fitted with a coil-sprung Dana 44 front axle and has a leaf-sprung Ford 9-inch axle in the rear. The 1978-1979 Bronco was available with two different V8 engines: the 5.8L 351M and the 6.6L 400. This Bronco comes with a freshened exterior, done in white with a very sharp-looking metallic cinnamon accent, that looks like a shiny metallic penny. It's equipped with the 400 CID V8, automatic transmission, and manually-actuated transfer case. Inside, the white and metallic cinnamon paint scheme continues. Since it's a Ranger XLT, you get the woodgrain dash, door appliques, and steering wheel accents. The seats and carpet are practically new, with the seats having been done in a nice brown synthetic leather and multi-color cloth insert pattern. While you're out tooling around town (or 4X4-ing in the backwoods), the Bluetooth-equipped AM/FM/CD radio allows you to take calls handsfree, or stream your MP3s through the head unit. The "off-roadability" is enhanced by the 31x10.5R15LT Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires that are wrapped around its American Racing aluminum wheels, and they have plenty of life in them, too! Additional options on this 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT for sale include cold Air Conditioning, Anti-theft System, AM/FM/CD radio with Bluetooth, Cruise Control, Cloth and Synthetic Leather seating, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Rear Window, and Seat Belts. The cost of parts and restoration of these vehicles are increasing daily. They are not making any more and, therefore, they are becoming rarer by the day. Buy one complete and ensure your investment for the future. An excellent investment and something you can enjoy daily. Collectible vintage vehicles have historically appreciated at a rate greater than that stock market, gold and other arts and collectibles as documented by many articles and auction result tracking. Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 700 ( since rebuilt )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this powerful 1990 Chevrolet C1500 454 SS. This classic truck was the must haves of its generation and still desired by many today. With less than 17,000 total trucks built between 1990 and 1993 these are becoming rarer as time goes on. This pickup is powered by a stout 454 CID V8 which was rebuilt in March of this year by “Rolem Auto Service”. The engine has only around 700 miles on it since the rebuild and runs strong. They also installed a new camshaft, new plugs, brake booster line, water outlet and thermostat, and rear brake shoes and cylinders. This truck is ready to hit the road and has many years left in it. The truck is sprayed in Onyx Black which was the only color option for 1990 on this truck. Walking around the truck you will find a few minor blemishes as the truck is 28 years old after all. The interior is also a single color for the year in a sleek Garnet red and is in great condition. The truck features the comforts of cold blowing A/C which is a necessity for most. Engine: 5.3L V12
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Mileage: 85,047 ( actual )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this red 1972 Jaguar XKE. The E-Type is one of the icons of its generation as it made great head way with the high performance, low pricing, and sleek beauty all in one. This ’72 XKE features the strong and original 5.3L V12 which is still in great running condition. It's stated by the owner that the mileage is original to the car, however the engine has been rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt roughly 10,000 miles ago along with the rear differential. What was done to the engine was the stock pistons removed and replaced with forged 10.5 compression Venolia pistons and rings. High lift and duration cam shafts were also installed. The engine is mated up to a Richmond Racing 6-speed manual transmission which allows you to run through the powerband with a smile on your face. This car may not be the cleanest of the Jaguars out there but a great driver and a good start into the classic car world. A survivor is the best way to describe this ’72 Jaguar XKE that we have here for sale. With a few blemishes, it simply adds history to the car and shows that even after 47 years a car can still run like a champ. The interior has been completely restored less than 6 months ago and is in great condition. The tan vinyl interior has been restored to replicate the original leather interior the car had. 1984 GMC C1500

1984 GMC C1500

Engine: LS1 5.7L V8
Transmission: Other
Mileage: 56,000 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is this modernized and beefy 1984 LS1 powered GMC C-10. One of the irritations with older vehicles is the difficulty of starting a carbureted engine in cold weather, carb tuning and cleaning and general maintenance that goes along with it. The LS1 engine is a modern all aluminum V8 that takes away the headaches of the older designed power plants. Not only is it more reliable, but it is also much better on fuel and allows for generation of big power along with lightweight design. The LS1 is combined with a fantastic and smooth shifting 4L60 transmission. The truck has a posi rear end with 3:42 gearing which allows for great traction and low rpms on the highway. You might want to think of this truck as a modern Trans Am but with the utility of a truck. Best of both worlds! The truck is finished with a white PPG paint and beautiful tan leather interior. It gives the truck a very luxurious feel throughout. Power brakes, power steering, CD player, leather, tilt wheel, alloy wheels and radial tires. All features that you will find on this truck. This is known as the third generation of the Chevrolet/GMC C-10. The third-generation trucks are colloquially known as the "Square-body" or "Box-body" generation. GM's official "Rounded-Line" moniker highlighted the pickup's rounded styling cues that were incorporated into the design. This included rounded windshield corners, rounded corners of the cab roof, rounded-corner doors which cut high into the cab roof eliminating roof height, slanted front fenders, and rounded pickup box corners which allowed for rounded wraparound taillamps, a first for GM pickups. The design also featured strong distinctive curved shoulder lines which rounded out below the beltline. The curved shoulder line continued across the back tailgate on Chevrolet Fleetside and GMC Wideside models. However, the low slope of the hood and rectangular front end of the truck originated the "square/box-body" nickname, which was propagated through truck magazines and word of mouth. GM's design engineers fashioned the "Rounded-line" exterior in an effort to help improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency, using wind tunnel technology to help them sculpt the body. Other design traits include sleek sculpted body work, an aerodynamic cab with steep windshield rake, and a unique available hidden radio antenna embedded into the windshield glass. You will be hard pressed to find another third generation LS1 powered GMC C-10 that is as nice as this throughout. It has been meticulously built and taken care of. Please reach out to the Gateway Classic Cars of Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220 to learn more about the truck or to learn about purchase and finance options. You can visit the truck in person at 1910 Cypress Station Dr Suite 200, Houston, TX 77090. 1934 Ford 3 Window

1934 Ford 3 Window

Engine: 468 CID V8 BBC
Transmission: Turbo 350
Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this awesome 1934 Ford 3 Window Coupe. Now, tell me that this car doesn’t scream fast! This mean Wild Purple machine is powered by a stout 468 CID V8 big block Chevy with a 6-71 Weiand Supercharger and dual 750 Holley carbs to top it all off. Fast, is an understatement. It features Zoomie headers, MSD ignition, a built Turbo 350 with a 3500 stall, 4:11 gears and a B&M Pro Stick shifter. Up front it has aluminum I-beam front axle with disc brakes and Mickey Thompson Sportman 26x7.5x15 tires wrapped around Weld Racing wheels. Out back you will see the polished Winters quick change rear end with fully adjustable coil overs, drum brakes and 32x17.5x15 Mickey Thompson ET Streets, also wrapped around Weld Racing wheels. This car was originally built from the ground up by Kyle Bond, owner of Gibbon Fiberglass Reproductions. When he saw it on our website, he provided some great background on it. It has a Gibbon fiberglass body, and features Kyle's own Gibbon Fiberglass body, with 4” chop top, custom built frame, roll cage, suicide doors and custom paint and flames of show quality. This car was displayed and raced to promote Gibbon Fiberglass Bodies, and was his personal car, which he raced for 7 years all over the country with Goodguys VRA Nostalgia Events. He states that, on alcohol it ran 8.60 seconds at 160 MPH in the 1/4 mile. It was also featured on the COVER of SUPERROD magazine in Oct. 2000, as well as was featured in Street Rodder magazine in Nov 2000. It has a Pete n Jakes Chassis and leather interior (well, it used to - some of the leather was removed when a subsequent purchaser revised the interior slightly to accommodate a 6' 4', 320lb driver)...the revision included custom seat rails and new buckets to accommodate the later owner, with the current buckets and flooring having been revised to a more duty-oriented synthetic leather and cloth configuration. The smell of leather still abounds, however, since the rest of its original all-leather interior is still intact. The inside of the cabin isn’t what you would expect. Often, people with this level of performance opt for a stripped-out interior, with nothing more than racing seats, gauges and metal. This is certainly not the case with this build. The seats are very comfortable and the cabin is spacious, even with the roll cage installed. Creature comforts such as power windows, seat belts and a vinyl interior can be found too. The pictures don’t do this one justice and the video (as awesome as it is) doesn’t show how truly heart-thumping this beast is in real life. Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Mileage: 82,726 ( actual )

Now for sale in our Houston showroom is one 1967 Ford Mustang that is very hard to miss. Its C4 3-speed automatic transmission makes it easy to drive in stop-and-go traffic, too. The 1967 Mustang saw its first major redesign, with Ford wanting to outdo its pony car competitors, it gave a fresh new look to compete with the Firebird, Cougar, Barracuda and Camaro. A total of 472,121 Mustangs were produced for the 1967 model year.
