The Triumph Spitfire was introduced at the London Motor Show in 1962. The Spitfire was designed as an open top or convertible roadster from the outset and thus the chassis is reinforced for additional ridgedity via structural components within the bodywork. In 1970, the Mark IV model brought comprehensive changes. The rear end was updated to resemble the Triumph Stag and 2000 models also designed by Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. The 1.3L inline 4 powerplant was rated at a 63hp. The engine displacement was increased to 1493cc and 71hp. The 1980 model was the last of the line and features included a wood dash, hazard flashers, electric screen washer, map light and overdrive. This beautiful Carmine Red / Tan 1980 Triumph Spitfire is a one owner, numbers matching survivor. The 1.5L powerplant is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The entire package is set off by its original steel wheels. This fine touring roadster is located at our Milwaukee showroom.
