Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1940 Buick Special. Let’s start with the styling of this beauty. At first sight, you will notice the seductive, curvaceous lines that surround this Buick Special. The curves are matched well with an elongated nose creating an illusion of speed. The gorgeous “cranberry red” exterior on this Buick Special will captivate you and lure you in for a closer look. Chrome accents compliment the outer shell with a large, centerpiece chrome grille that screams Buick. The interior of the car drives home the name “Special.” The cranberry and peanut butter cream combination invites you in with such elegance. The interior is simplistic yet complex, heightening your senses with several different textures and touches. The seats are wrapped in soft vinyl with plush cloth inserts. Adding to the luxury essence is the beautifully marbled wood grain dashboard with the chrome bezel gauges and AM Radio face. If that isn’t enough to keep your eyes wondering, the light tan headliner and black framing on the window brings it all together and takes it to another level. Powering this excellent machine was Buick’s Straight-8 engine, otherwise known as the Fireball 8. The “Fireball 8” mustered up 120 hp in the 1940 40 series Buick Special. This may not sound impressive in comparison to today’s standards, but let’s put this into perspective. Thirty-seven years later, the 1967 Chevy Nova’s 283 V8 version was only rated at 195 horsepower, which was considered a “Muscle Car.” Although the horsepower rating isn’t frightening, this car has enough spunk to get up to speed and cruise along with traffic on the highway. Being an automatic transimission, makes it a great car for the entire family to enjoy and drive. If you’re searching for a classic that retains originality, but still unique enough to make people say, “what’s that” or “you don’t see one of those everyday”, then this is a car for you. Options include two spare tires, Vinyl and Cloth Interior, and Wide White Wall Tires. This 1940 Buick 40 Special is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For sale in our Chicago showroom is one of the most well know vehicles in existence today! Almost everyone knows about Bo and Luke Duke and the General Lee Dodge Charger! This is a fine example of a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 383 V8. Dressed in Orange and a confederate flag on the roof this old Dodge is ready to run moonshine on the backroads all while running from the law. Although this General Lee was not built by Cooter and the boys, this is a solid vehicle restored and built with love for the iconic TV series and a memorial to the south. Even Cousin Dixie and Uncle Jesse think this is a fine example of the General Lee. The amount of Chargers used in filming the Dukes of Hazard varies from source to source but likely ranges between 255 and 325. Approximately 17 from the original series still exist making this tribute car a nice alternative to sourcing one from the show. You will notice a few differences from the TV General Lee and this example. This one has never jumped a bridge, barn or river. The doors are not welded shut for easy access and the windows are powered too! Interior is clean and neat with no rips or tears in the split bench seats. This one does have the “Dixie” horn turning heads everywhere it goes! For more information on this Incredible 1969 Dodge Charger contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. Engine: 95 HP V8Transmission: 3 Speed ManualMileage: 62554 ( actual )
Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to offer this incredible pre-war 1941 Ford Deluxe Opera Coupe. This unique piece of Americana was an overhaul in Ford styling. The body was widened over the area where the running boards once were and lengthened by several inches. Along with several suspension modifications and upgrades these eliminated the rough and tumble ride of previous generations. These cars not only served as the runabout of the day but were highly prized by traveling salesmen for the extremely large trunk area to carry their wares and as legend goes, crawl into the truck for a quick nap while on the road. The Opera Deluxe was easily identified by the abundance of chrome trim and folding jump seats in the back. Another unique feature of the Ford Deluxe was the ability to manually crank start the car in the event of a dead battery. Looking straight on at the grille you will see a small opening just below top of the front bumper for the hand crank to be inserted, very clever. This feature remained on the Deluxe until the 1949 model year change, the first significant styling change post war. With the brief background lesson over let’s get to our beautiful 1941 Deluxe for sale. Standing proud in Henry Ford black, the sporty and sweeping lines of this Deluxe begs to be driven and shown off in all her elegance. Driving this 41 Ford for sale is just as unique as the car itself. The flathead V-8 provides ample pep in your step power and coupled with a three on the tree manual transmission it gives you a fabulous driving experience no longer found. Sporting a three-piece front grille, fender mounted turn signals and split front windshield with head lights integrated into the front fenders, the Ford Deluxe ushered in a new era of styling. With the wide whitewalls and fender skirts it’s easy to imagine yourself on the way to the Opera in nostalgic elegance. Sliding behind the wheel you see the instrument cluster and hand pull knobs all made from Bakelite, a precursor to today’s modern plastics and highly collectible. One of the coolest items in the interior is the Southwind heater. A Deluxe only option, the heater operated independently with the engine off, using gasoline and a small fuel pump to keep occupants warm while at the drive-in movie. The cars also featured push button start and a bolt lock steering wheel not releasing until the key was turned. Both of these items were very innovative for the day and have resurfaced in the modern autos of today. This blast from the past has received a mild interior restoration with just enough done to revive the comfort and elegance but preserve the nostalgia and innovation of the time. Don’t miss this opportunity to show and go in this iconic and rare piece of American history. Options include; Deluxe package, Southwind heater, new glass and rubber, new fuel pump, new brakes and wheel cylinders, new clutch, and new reproduction interior. This 1941 Ford Deluxe Opera Coupe is for sale in our Orlando Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando Florida is proud to offer a super clean 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL. This particular example is a well-maintained car which is a total survivor. This car has only one owner since it was driven off the showroom floor brand new. The color scheme is an attractive Tender Blue over blue cloth interior which still looks new. In case you forgot you were in a sports car, the dash features a large center mounted tachometer and the console houses automatic transmission shifter. Backing the automatic transmission is a limited slip differential. When talking about Japanese sports car, it's impossible not to mention the RX-7. Mazda first offered the car in 1978 with a revolutionary engine. The Wankel rotary was an engine which defied the norm with its design. The engine has no pistons, but rather a triangular rotor which rotates around the combustion chamber. The result is a much smaller displacement than the typical piston engine. This RX-7 sports a 1,146cc 12A rotary engine. This engine produced just over 100 horsepower but was lightweight which allowed the car to have an incredibly balanced 50/50 weight distribution. The entire car was under 2,500 pounds, so there's no doubt why they handle on rails. This is a true sports car which will continue to appreciate in value. This is the one you want to own. The Aston Martin DB9 is a British grand touring car first shown at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show. Available both as a coupe and a convertible known as the Volante, the DB9 was the successor of the DB7. It was the first model built at Aston Martin's Gaydon facility. The letters "DB" are the initials of David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin for a significant part of its history. Although it succeeded the DB7, Aston Martin did not call the car the DB8 due to fears that the name would suggest that the car was equipped with only a V8 (the DB9 has a V12). The DB9 is made largely of aluminum. The hand assembled engine is a 6.0L V12 beast producing 444 hp at 6,000 rpm and 420 ft-lbs of torque. It has a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph) and a 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) time of 4.1 seconds. This 2006 Volante features a six-speed ZF automatic transmission, anti-roll bar and double wishbone suspension supported by coil springs. With all this hi performance going on, many still point to the quality interior as the true star of the show. Hand-stitched leather and walnut are done to a high standard and modern features such as pop-up Navigation screen and Dolby Pro-Logic sound system are tastefully integrated. This stunning Slate Blue/Ivory Leather DB9 Volante stunner represents the best of the best in workmanship and build quality and is located at our Milwaukee showroom. A 904 Torqueflight automatic transmission transfers the power to the pavement. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt, and have approximately 3,000 miles on them. The 1965 Fury had 4 trim options, Fury I was the base model, Fury II and III featured more trim and options, while the Sport Fury was the top of the food chain in the Fury world. For sale in our Saint Louis Showroom is this 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK 500. Although what you see here is a coupe, what is not immediately apparent is how comfortable and tailor-fit the interior was made for you. Everything about the CLK 500 screams that it’s time to look classy and be aggressive. She packs a very reasonable amount of space for four adults into a compact body, not quite 183 inches long. In the engine is a 5.0-liter V-8's thrust; 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds thanks to a head-turning aero-drag body that sings a 0.28 coefficient. In additional to all of the features standard to the Mercedes-Benz CLK 500, this beauty’s hood and sideview mirrors are protected with a strong invisible bra, the headlights have their a washer, and a rear-window shade is included. Although hardtops have been an American fascination, Mercedes-Benz is one of the few foreign makers to regularly have had them in the lineup over the past 40-some years. This one replaces the previous CLK initially introduced in 1997 as a '98 model. With sales of 19,423 units (coupe and convertible) in its second year, each one ringing up $40,000 plus on the cash register, it was a winner. This second-generation two-door, which debuted in August, was followed by the 362-hp CLK55 AMG and a convertible. All were built on the latest C-class (small sedan) platform first seen in the U.S. in 2001. The American was the second incarnation of AMC's forerunner Nash Motors second-generation Rambler compact that was sold under the Nash and Hudson Motors marques from 1954 and 1955. The American can be classified in three distinct model year generations: 1958 to 1960, 1961 to 1963, and 1964 to 1969. During the entire length of its production, the car was sold under the Rambler brand name, and was the last Rambler named automobile marketed in the Canadian and United States markets. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this awesome Custom 1941 Ford Pick-up. The 40 and 41 Ford truck line was really a whole fresh look as with all the Fords of that time. This 41 has had extensive work done turning it into the modern driver it is today. The cab and front fenders are all steel just like the way Henry Ford made them. The bed is a step up from your normal wood bed that’s been done a million times. The polished stainless is a statement piece to say the least and a unique touch that separates it from the crowd. The polished Billet Boyd wheels look and fit the truck perfectly while showing off the 4-wheel disc brake set-up. The smoothed roll pan and color matched grill complete the exterior touches on this beauty. Though the tailgate may say Ford under the hood a different story is being told. The crate engine, with A HP rating of 290, is a Chevy small block. Naturally a TH400 is backing it up making this little red Ford a Chevy at heart. The rear end, since they do them so well, is a Ford 9 Inch stuffed with a set 3.55 gears. Underneath is where this truck will open your eyes. The front end is composed of a Fatman Mustang II style giving the truck a completely different handling and ride character. The 4-link set up takes care of the rear and completes the driveline of this excellent Street rod. The interior looks like it could have been pulled out of a BMW or Mercedes with the tan leather wrapping basically everything you see you almost forget you’re in a truck. The Ididit steering column adds the tilt steering wheel and gives the interior a highly needed upgrade. If you have wanted one of these old trucks but want the ability to enjoy it on today’s higher paced roads this is the perfect pick. Options on this 41 Ford pickup include; AM/FM/CD, Power Windows, Power Steering, Leather Interior, Aluminum Wheels and Radial Tires.
