1965 Factory Five Racing Type 65 Coupe

Get ready to own a legend as we have a 1965 Factory Five Racing Daytona Coupe at Gateway Classic Cars in the Milwaukee Showroom. The name Carroll Shelby is almost always in the conversation when it comes to notable racing mentions in American history. Shelby had already made a name for himself by making the small convertible Cobra that displayed having a good balance in racing and performance applications. The time came about for Ferrari to be dethroned again now in the GT class racing as where the 250 GTO was featured and it was tasked with Shelby to design and engineer a car that could kick the Italian juggernaut to the curb. Thus, the Daytona Couple was born with six successful prototypes that displayed an enhanced balanced at high speed cornering with weight distribution showing that this car was designed years ahead of its own time. Since so few of these cars were ever put into existence, we turn to companies like Superperformance and Factory Five Racing to make sure the look and feel of this American racing benchmark stays alive and we still get to experience what it's like to be in the seat of a true race car of the 60's. This built replica is going to be one of the greatest examples of a well built machine in the legend's image while featuring some updates that make this car above and beyond other kits including a 427 cubic inch Ford Racing aluminum block V8 tuned to make monstrous power on 93 octane pump gas with a Comp Cams solid roller camshaft, AFR aluminum cylinder heads, Edelbrock Torquer intake manifold, an 8 quart oil pan, MSD ignition, and Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection. The beautiful power plant is backed by a Tremec TKO600 Road Race 5-speed manual transmission to offer firm and concise shifting under load and duress. All the power is transferred back to a Moser 8.8" rear axle with 3:55 gear ratio ring and pinion bolted up to a Trac-Lok limited slip differential carrier. The Daytona features a vinyl black interior that includes Kirkey racing bucket seats and the rest is carpeted while the inside has been coated with Lizard Skin. Power steering and air conditioning also attribute to this car being an absolute pleasure to be in aside from the thrill ride that assimilates a true racing feel. Don't miss out on your chance to own one of the most beautiful replicas that you'll ever lay eyes on!
