1979 GMC Suburban 2500 For Sale

Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1979 GMC Suburban 2500. The Suburban nameplate has been a staple in the General Motors lineup since 1935. Considered to be the first mass produced station wagon. The 1979 GMC Suburban is a seventh- generation model that was produced from 1973-1991. Prior to 1973 the Suburban had only one door on the left side. Front and rear air conditioning, an optional heater under the 3rd rear seat and easy access step-plates were introduced.

This 1979 GMC Suburban 2500 is equipped with the optional YE9 Sierra Classic Package. The package included a chrome grille, deluxe instrument panel with brushed aluminum dash panel, door pull handles and lower carpet on the door panels. It also includes the factory Trailering Special package with 12,000 GCW. This beauty is painted in two-gray paint with a burgundy velour interior. The three-row seating makes this Suburban is a large enough vehicle. Options include air conditioning w/ optional a/c unit, AM/FM radio, cruise control, tilt wheel, aftermarket gauges, power rear widow, power brakes and power steering. Under the hood is a 350 cubic inch V-8 attached to a three-speed automatic transmission. Recent improvements include a gas tank, rear wheel cylinders and valve cover gaskets.

General Motors hit the jackpot with the Suburban. This 1979 GMC Suburban 2500 is a great example to what has become the SUV craze.
