Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to present this attractive first generation 1957 Ford Thunderbird for sale on consignment with our showroom in Phoenix, Arizona. These small, two-seat roadsters that were first on sale in 1955 as a response to GM's Corvette have always been highly collectible and recognizable classic cars. Though it's clear that sportiness was a part of Ford's vision for the car, Thunderbirds were marketed as "Personal Luxury Cars" and had an emphasis on comfort, convenience and technology as a result. The '57 was particularly well received with 21,380 examples sold that year (around 25% more than in 1955 and '56). Painted in a classy "Colonial White" with a matching White Hardtop, this T-Bird for sale features steel wheels with hubcaps surrounded by white-wall Firestone bias ply tires and desirable fender skirts at the rear. Check out those sexy tailfins, and while you're at it, look under Her Hood at a Very Clean, $7,000.00 Professionally Built 312 CID V8 tied to a 2-speed automatic transmission- this was the "stock" combination offered with all 1957 Thunderbirds. This particular T-Bird is steps above other T-birds on the market, totally gone through to ensure not only to be a great driver (no vapor locks on this one) along with maintenance records to match, the records that come with the vehicle emphasizes that the work has been masterfully completed (please request receipts). The 6-blade radiator fan was added to assist cooling but the original is included with the sale. This Thunderbird's Black and White vinyl interior will bring you right back to the glory days of 1950's America. An aftermarket AM/FM radio has been added to the dash (original radio included with sale) as well as a couple of additional gauges but otherwise everything looks period correct. A new padded dashboard was also installed earlier this year. Easily remove the Hardtop and you can take this T-Bird out "topless", completely changing the appearance of this 2-door classic. The soft top that is normally stored behind the rear seats has been removed on this example. Great time for you to invest in some style and fun with a mechanically sound '57 T-Bird ready to hit the road.
