Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present this 1960 Chevrolet Kingswood.
The Kingswood station wagon was a mid-priced, full-size four-door vehicle with seating for 9-passengers, with the rear-facing third-row jump-seat standard. Both the Parkwood and Kingswood were considered part of the Bel Air line and had Bel Air's model number, thus making them middle-range wagons.
If you follow the low-rider scene, you have probably seen this artistic masterpiece created by Kyle Gann of K-Daddyz Kustomz and featured in multiple magazines. You can stare at this car for hours. Professionally hand waxed detail work on every square inch shines amazingly! The deep, metallic purple roof has subtle blue lines painstakingly spaced running half its length and really pops in the sunlight. Beautiful flames engulf the hood, tailgate, and doors. Custom pinstriping by Ron Beam of Beam Brothers Creative Paint & Pinstriping highlights this green machine everywhere. Inside this captivating automobile, you are surrounded by a white leather interior and even more surreal paintwork. A tilt steering wheel and custom sound system are just a few of the custom interior touches.
Not just for show, this car has more than enough "go"! After adjusting the preset, AccuAir air ride to get this sled in the air and exposing the wide whitewall tires and Rocket wheels, the real fun begins. A light press of the accelerator (a bass drum pedal given by James Hatfield of Metallica) confirms the "go" earlier mentioned, thanks to a Chevy 409 cubic inch motor that has been stroked to 488 cubic inches. Dual quad carburetors feed fuel to aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and custom performance exhaust. This combination produces 530 horsepower and 515 foot pounds of torque. All of that power is then transferred to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a Currie Ford 9 inch big spline with 4:11 to 1 gears. A Watts 4 link in back helps to plant all that power to the pavement and four-wheel disc brakes bring it all to a halt quickly.
Winning trophies at car shows is an everyday event for this car. Taking Best in Show, Best Low Rider, and Best Stance awards at Loris Small Town Big Show is just one of countless examples of what you can expect when you line this car up to be judged. If you have room on your shelves for tons of trophies, make room in your garage for this car! Call us today!
