Fast forward to the creation of Tune Port Injection which was offered on two engines: the LB9 5.0 V8 and the L98 5.7 V8, which is in this car, commonly found in the Corvette of the same year set and the Trans Am GTA with the exception of the Corvette iteration offering aluminum cylinder heads on its version. The L98 is bolted up to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to offer smoother shifting and improved fuel economy over its 3-speed predecessor the TH350 automatic.
