In 1993 Ford decided to unveil a new mustang, one that would set a modern precedence for performance and so the SVT Cobra was born. The Cobra was positioned higher than its GT and Mach 1 brothers. In 1999 Ford redesigned the Mustang using the new Edge design language that focused on surface tension by adding creases to soft aerodynamic shapes, essentially combined intersecting arcs. This led to a very aggressive style for the mustang. For the first time independent rear suspension was used and was exclusive to the Cobra. The SVT Cobras were made from 1993-2004.
Here we have a '01 Model, stated to be painted in True Blue an-45d she looks great! The color with the bold angular lines really gives this pony a strong stance! The black and gray interior looks really good as well. Under the hood is a 4.6L Cobra Long Block engine installed by Ford in 2009. Transmission was replaced with a T-45 as well. Other performance upgrades of note: 03/04 Cobra Exhaust Manifold, K&N Air filter, High End Free Flowing Off Road Exhaust System with Resonators, High Volume Fuel Pump, High End MGW Short Shifter. Aesthetic upgrades include: 03/04 Cobra Fog lights, 6k HID Headlights, 3k HID Fog Lights, 03/04 Cobra Side Scoops, Cobra Grill Emblem, and 03/04 OEM Cobra Leather/Suede Power Seats. Upgrades to suspension include: 03/04 Cobra Front Lower Control Arms, 03/04 Cobra Progressive Springs (F&R cut and lowered 1.5"), 03/04 Cobra Bilstein Shocks/Struts, 03/04 Cobra IRS Differential Support, Ford Racing 4:10 Gear Set and FRPP Bearing Kit, and Kenny Brown Welded Subframe Connectors. This car runs great and is a blast to drive! There was only 3,867 SVT Cobra Coupes made in 2001, this is #846.
