Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Resto-mod. As owners of classic cars, we're all pretty nostalgic people, but even as unique as old cars are and as romantic as past times seem to be, there's no denying the positive effects of automotive technology. Restored by renowned Corvette builder Billy Dawson of Corvette Correction in Seguin, Texas, this awesome C1 is a build that mixes the desired aspects of yesterday's classics with today's modern mechanical advancements. This car has been updated with a completely custom chassis and is riding on the suspension from a 1996 Corvette making for a great handling classic! This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in Roman Red over black leather upholstery and a black soft top/Roman red, color matched hard top combo. This ’62 is powered by a full roller 350CID V-8 with set of aluminum Edelbrock HP E-Force heads, a Edelbrock EPS aluminum intake manifold and a Holley carburetor, and all of that is sitting under a polished air cleaner and polished aluminum valve covers. The powerplant is kept cool in these hot summer days by an oversized aluminum radiator & electric fan set up and the engine note is heard through a 3” stainless dual exhaust with some sweet sounding Magnaflow mufflers. Helping stop this iconic ‘Vette is the ZR1 style polished 18” wheels wrapped in a set of newer radial 215/50’s in the front and 255/45’s in the rear, with 4-wheel slotted/cross-drilled disc brakes all the way around, assuring that "sure footed" feel we know from the modern equipment. The cabin is upholstered in black leather seats with matching door panels, and amenities include a new black dash pad, new wiring, new windshield, new steering column with power steering, new carpet with dynamite insulation, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, an analog clock, lap belts. A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges that include battery voltage, oil pressure, water temperature and fuel level. If you're looking for an outstanding C1 that rides like a new car, look no further!
