Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is very happy to offer this nicely restored 1956 Chevrolet 3100. Chevrolet re-designed the truck line in 1955. And for the 1956 models, the new body featured the truck industry's first wrap-around windshield and an optional wrap around rear window for Deluxe cab models. The headlights also became integrated into the fenders, the cab got taller, and in-cab steps replaced the running boards of previous models. A "step" between the cab and rear fender aided access to items inside the pickup bed. 1956 was also the last year model that used the distinctive "Egg Crate" style grill. The rich Golden Rod yellow paint shows very well and is almost as bright as the chrome bumpers & trim pieces. This one was lovingly restored a few years back to better than new. New front & rear glass, weatherstripping, felts, both bumpers, door handles, mirrors, trim pieces, oak stainless bed strips are but a small portion of the new components that have gone into this build. Under the hood is the 265 CID V8 and the shifting is done through the "3 on the tree" steering column mounted shifter. The interior of this '56 shows extremely nicely as well, sporting some newly recovered seats, new carpets, new headliner & reconditioned or new instrumentation, bezel, visors and a new fuel tank & sending unit. If an original 1956 Chevy pick up is on your bucket list, this Chevy 3100 is worth a closer look!
