Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is very happy to be able to offer one of the most extreme American supercars ever built, the iconic 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10! Finished in the classic Viper Red with the Black leather interior & black canvas soft top, this SRT-10 is showing only 47,470 CarFax documented miles. This SRT-10 has some extra goodies that have been added as well, such as Belanger high-flow stainless cats & mufflers, an IPSCO short throw shifter and a K&N intake, This is definitely one of the vehicles we dreamed about during our youth! The 2003 Viper SRT-10 (which stands for either "Street and Racing Technology" or "Sometimes Really Terrifying"), replaced both the GTS and the RT/10 from previous years, was heavily restyled with sharp, angled bodywork and a completely revised handling package. The third-generation engine V10, newly introduced in the 2003 Viper, had a displacement of 8.3 L (505 CID) rated at 500 hp @ 5600 rpm and 525 lbft @ 4200 rpm of torque, proving the Viper to be one of the most formidable American automobiles ever built, but one with more grip and slightly more benign handling, thanks to a revised coil-over- shock suspension that provides quicker turn-in, a more progressive feel at the limit, and a reduced tendency for the rear end to come around. This one goes a step further with the addition of some BC Racing adjustable coil-overs and a newer set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Steering is also improved, with more weight and better feedback, refined too are the Brembo disc brakes and much less intrusive ABS system, allowing you to drive it the way it was meant to be driven. Those refinements are just enough to make this Viper a better driver, without losing any of its in-your-face character. the Tremec T-56 with the IPSCO short-throw shifter is a guarantee that your pulse will immediately rise once you slip it into 1st gear! From inside the cockpit, pop the clutch & you will automatically realize that you are in a true supercar, because the 2003 Viper is the same overdose of testosterone that it always was!
