Impressed with their professionalism. We arrived with our classic car after a two hour drive on a busy Saturday. Josh took the time to welcome us and explain the procedures in a very easy to understand way.
I just wanted to thank Gateway Classic Cars for your work on selling our 1977 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.
I realized some of the benefits of putting it on consignment with Gateway when we first came to meet with you and saw your showroom and met the staff. However, not until after we consigned the automobile with you and not only did you help us in what it needed to make it more appealing to that limited market of who would be looking at buying an older Rolls, but you really were great in taking care of us through out the 'process' did I realize ALL of the benefits of having it in Gateway's hands.
With the economy what it is today, and the thought of trying to sell something like this on our own, well, I wouldn't want to think about what could have happened with people that are less than honorable looking to take advantage of others that maybe too trusting or just naive to what could happen in going thru the process. We didn't have to worry about if we could trust the person interested in buying it, especially if it would have limited us to the market right here in our area only.
And even then, I would have had to trust that they could drive an automobile that was right side drive without doing any damage during the 'interested' stage. But, then to think about if we had to trust someone thousands of miles away that would be offering to buy it and trying to make the arrangements on transporting it to them and hoping that their payment for the automobile was good.
Again, in today's world, unfortunately, there are less than scrupulous people that would have taken full advantage of us and in consigning the automobile with Gateway, we never had to worry about any of the obvious things that could possibly happen but those things alot of people may not realize could take place.
So, again, I want to thank you for taking not only the time and patience to work with us on selling what I termed 'the old girl'..but making it a process that was very trusting and enjoyable.
We know that in today's market and having a very specialized item, it was not going to be an easy or fast sale. However, I would recommend that anyone thinking about consigning their automobile instead of selling it on their own, contact Gateway Classic Cars.

This classic car purchase was a first for me in so many ways; long distance, sight unseen, shipping, wiring thousands of dollars. I was so nervous that I even considered flying out to the dealership to see the car and pay in person. If you are concerned about all of these things too, please read my story. I found my lifelong dream car at Gateway online. It was honestly above my budget and so I was afraid to even call. But on a whim, I took a chance and called. I met salesman Masen and he immediately made me feel comfortable. He could tell I was nervous and how much I loved that car, and he went so above and beyond for me, I can't praise him enough. Masen did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and trust him. He was kind and non-judging when I made my offer and helped me to negotiate so that both I and the seller were happy and agreed on a fair price. Buying site unseen was scary. I had even looked on the BBB site and while there were a couple of concerns listed for Gateway nationwide, like any other company, they were all due to people who didn't understand what “as-is” means nor did they bother to get an inspection. There will always be someone who will complain! Even I knew that, so I pressed on. Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis already had tons of pictures and a video posted, but I felt I owed myself the due diligence to get an inspection. Masen had no issue with me getting it even though we’d already agreed on a price. I was buying that car no matter what, I just had to make sure there was no major problem or I wouldn't forgive myself if something was wrong. He didn't pressure me or rush me about anything. I had authorized the deposit and was concerned. He reassured me saying “we’re human”, J Even though it might not seem to make sense to trust a salesman's recommended inspector, I had confidence in Masen. He recommended Kevin, who has his own business locally, Hot Rod Custom Garage Inc. He was also fantastic. He provided hundreds of pictures and a fully documented, very detailed report. Plus, he cost half the price of the others online. He was totally unbiased and even provided estimates for my request for the small repairs needed for the used car. Even afterward, he said to reach out any time with questions and wished me to have fun with the car on several occasions. So nice!! He even recommended keeping a journal which I've started already. Once the inspection was complete, I was so terrified to wire over $50k and then have to wait for the car to ship and arrive. Again Masen, went above and beyond. He personally contacted his recommended shipper and asked him if he would give me a call to ease my concerns. That was so touching, and Ethan, from ASAP Transport Solutions, called me right away to talk through my concerns. He was outstanding too!! He arranged to have the car shipped the day after I paid and they worked around my schedule, delivering in two days from Illinois to Rhode Island!! Well worth the very nominal difference in price compared to others who were very aggressive and have a reputation of breaking promises and leaving folks to wait sometimes weeks to get their car! Even the drivers that worked for him were excellent, so kind and friendly. When they picked up the car, Masen even agreed to take pictures of the car getting loaded so I’d feel some comfortable!! I know I've written a book here, but I wanted to let anyone with the same concerns know that this method of purchase is now the way of the world. Having a informed young men who understand it all and who also CARE enough to help me through each phase of it made all the difference. I hope this helps you, feel better. I would like to thank you all for all the hard work in making the purchase of my car happen. I got the car and I'm very pleased. I have bought plenty of cars before and haven't been happy after the deal was over. Consider this I live in Washington state and you are located in North Carolina and I never seen the car (only in pictures). It is great to see there are people you can trust in this world. I'm from the South and you all are southern hospitality.
