1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

Engine: 365 CID V8 305 HP
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 82,800 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is honored to have this breathtaking 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. In its day, this car had a very commanding presence. It truly was "The Standard Of The World". It still does that today. Costing nearly $7,000 ($64,000 in today's money) when new, Cadillac sold an impressive 2,150 examples that year. For 1956, the Eldorado was now available as a two door hardtop (Seville) or a convertible (Biarritz). All were powered by the 365 CID Cadillac V8 that produced 305 HP utilizing two four barrel Carter carbs. The power was transmitted to the rear axle through a Hydamatic four speed automatic to swiftly move this 5,000-plus pound luxury droptop along America's new Interstate highway system or anywhere else it could be driven. Spanning 129" wheelbase on 15" wheels, these cars truly were unique in their appearance, performance, and opulence. This beauty left Cadillac's assembly plant painted a stunning Starlight Silver with a black top. A matching silver parade boot is stored in the trunk should you decide to use it. The luxuriously-appointed green and white leather interior complements the exterior color beautifully. A car cover is also included and will help protect this iconic American luxury car when not in use. 1940 Ford Deluxe Flower Car

1940 Ford Deluxe Flower Car

Engine: Flathead V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Manual
Mileage: 21,896 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is excited to offer this very unique 1940 Ford Super Deluxe Flower Car once again. If you're scratching your head thinking "I've never seen one of those before!" It's probably because you most likely have not. This 1940 Ford Deluxe was produced by the Ford Motor Company and then converted by The Eureka Manufacturing Company of Rock Falls Illinois into a flower car. Essentially starting out as a 5-window coupe, the conversion lengthened the chassis and the convertible rear casket compartment was created with metal rollers and pins to store the side rails that would hold flowers in place. This car had a dual use of being enclosed with the original canvas cover for the less elaborate funerals and having the rear compartment cover removed and side rails installed for a more elaborate send off. Flower cars were popular during the middle of the century and now are rarely seen in modern funerals. While most if not all of these conversions done by Eureka were on General Motors vehicles this one being a Ford and not a Packard or Cadillac makes this highly obscure and is believed to be the only one ever made. This car was purchased new in 1940 and check out the original photos of the car being delivered. Now fast forward 78 years and you will notice that not much has really changed. This is an original, unmolested, unrestored car that still retains the original paint, original canvas cover, original interior and powertrain. Now is your chance to own something that nobody else has and enter the world of Professional Car Collectors. Surely this will be the only one at whatever show you attend and thanks to years of maintenance and recent service work performed this car is ready for the road and will cruise at highway speeds. New parts include brake shoes, wheel and master cylinders, brake hoses, rear axle seals, new points set, fuel tank, fuel pump and carburetor overhaul. Located in our Chicago showroom, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Flower Car can be seen including an HD video and pictures at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call (708) 444-4488 or email chicago@gatewayclassiccars.com. See more at: http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/CHI/1406/1940-Ford-Deluxe-Flower-Car
