Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this beautiful Marina Blue 1966 Chevy II Nova SS for sale. One thing we're enthralled by in this one is how cool that Marina Blue paint looks in the sun, with its blue metallic flakes creating a bedazzling effect. This is one of the nicer Nova SS units that we've had, with its sheet metal, weather stripping, window felts, chrome, and paint all in such good condition. This bad boy is a real 118-VIN Super Sport, and, according to its owner, features its original sheet metal. Not only that, but it came from the factory as an F-code (Marina Blue) car with a blue bucket seat interior and its 4-speed manual transmission (L-code on cowl tag). This peppy Gasser-style Nova SS is set up just right for those weekends when you want to go vintage drag racing, or load it up to go win some trophies at the car show. Not that it's not street drivable, but with its 4.10:1 rear axle gears, along with its 26x10.50-15LT M&H Racemaster slicks and the wheelie bars out back, you'll certainly attract some unwanted attention from folks with badges and guns if you're out tooling around. There's a period correct 1966 L79 327 CID V8 (with correct ZI suffix on the block) under the hood, and it is indeed the proverbial "Mighty Mouse". It's sporting 11.5:1 compression pistons, a forged crank, Comp Cams "Thumpr" cam, roller rockers, a Weiand dual quad tunnel ram intake with twin 650 CFM QuickFuel 4BBL carbs, the double hump "fuelie" heads, and gasser-style coated headers with cutouts. Ignition is handled by an MSD billet distributor, MSD 7AL controller, and Blaster coil (hiding inside the PBR can, of course). A Powermaster high torque starter helps get that high compression mill fired with ease. Power gets to the meats out back via a beefy 10.5-in clutch ahead of its Muncie M21 4-speed manual (with Hurst shifter and line loc), and from there, the GM 12-bolt rear end with its limited slip differential (Posi) and 4.10 gears handle spinning the requisite Cragars, which are bolted up via Moroso 7/16-inch wheel studs, and feature Racemaster slicks. The custom adjustable ladder bar rear suspension is kept securely in place, and the body twist is minimized thanks to its full subframe connectors. Up front, the Speedway dropped axle provides the proper Gasser-look, and features disc brakes for better stopping power. Inside, the vintage blue interior looks like new, from the front synthetic leather bucket seats, front seat belts, rear bench seat, to the blue carpet - this car will turn heads and bring back memories. Don't let this awesome little Chevy II Nova SS get away from you!
