Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this big block 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle. 1968 was a year noted for change at General Motors with the completely redesigned Corvette and Chevelle. If the Corvette was a sports car, and the Camaro a "Pony Car," then the Chevelle was the street fighter. This particular Chevelle, which the vin # decodes to be a real "SS" has some unique options. The big block 396ci is bolted to a two speed powerglide trans and backed by a 12-bolt rear diff. Under the metal cowl hood you'll see this is a factory a/c car. On the roof of the car you'll spot the black viny top. Inside you'll see....wait for it....an 8-track tape player. The option boxes on the build sheet for this brawler were chosen with great specificity in 1968 but yet it's a column shift bench seat car. How many were built like this one?? This is an unrestored, original car. If you're looking for an old school, uniquely optioned, extremely solid Chevelle it's waiting for you at the Tampa Showroom.
