For the 1956 model, more trunk space was added, the spare wheel was mounted outside (which helped free up trunk space) Commonly known as a continental kit, this is a highly sought-after option for first generation T-birds. 1956 also marks the first year of the famous “port hole” windows, an iconic piece of 50’s styling, though this car is equipped with super clean soft top. With only 15,631 made in 1956, these are the rarest of the two-seater Thunderbirds.
This car went through a full restoration at Prestige Thunderbird in California, one of the premier restoration shops for these 50’s birds. The list of new parts is far too long, but rest assured every part of this car has been looked at, upgraded of completely restored to factory condition. Powered by the original 312 V8 and backed by a smooth automatic transmission, with power steering this car cruises like a dream. The Black paint is looking great as is the chrome trim and engine bay. The newer white walled tires give it a great vintage look.
